Help Fm23 so much harder (help!)

So I've played FM mobile for years now and pc since it started in 05. I could take any team back to back to champs league wins within a very short time frame my recruitment was pretty spotless massive bargains huge profits etc never had any issues with most formations etc. This year .. I literally can't even win a league with city my players don't develop anywhere near the level they did Im not making big profits I lose constantly when the match stats are massively in my favour I draw due to late equalizers always even when I'm massively better in quality than the opposition and I have absolutely no idea how to solve it! 

 

Is there a meta I'm missing does the high press just not work or something I'm so stumped on how I got sooo bad randomly this year

Hi mate, more or less I am the same type of user, with similar experiences. 

So it sound a little bit strange your situation, if it is a constant. If you are used to solve problems with the PC version, for sure you'll find the solution even with 23 mobile. 

Considering your experience, just two general advices maybe you missed:

1) the IF roles have been changed wrt the previous versions, there are tips and tactics on the site to make them work properly in 23

2) the mental traits of the players have been detailed more, are more influencing and so the team talk boost has improved (in the way of PC let me say)

Yeah it does seem different this year - a few extra points:

• Defensive midfielders - you usually need a DMC or defensive midfielder (Anchor or BWM in the MC position) - to prevent an opposition AMC / attacking midfielder destroying you, who often creates very high quality chances which the AI often score.  
   
• IFs - as @Migraz said, they are more effective further forward in the FR/L positions this year.  
   
• Game Mgmt - you usually need to close the game down (park the bus!) to protect a late narrow lead - as the opposition increases their mentality, I often move to a 460 / 41410 formation, on defensive mentality, with short sterile passes, just to prevent the opposition from scoring a late equalizer. It’s very effective 👍 

Just sone minor points which may help, as these seem so important (to me) in this year’s game.

To be honest usually I can just problem solve it but for some reason this year it feels like the changes I make rarely make a difference the AI is just so ridiculously clinical and my shots mostly massively outweigh them. Will have a look at the IF things. The team talks I find are ridiculous and don't work anything like the computer they are red whatever I do if it isn't balanced lol

Thanks I play with DM and almost always have lowest conceded in the league just goals are very hard to come by. I haven't done anywhere near as much game management as I know I should mostly as to be honest it's never mattered on FM mobile before haha but I will start having a go

Ah, yes that was like my first save as Man Utd on this years game. Really struggled to score.

Here’s my guide (with contributions from multiple others!) on scoring more goals in this years game - based on evolving a 41221 formation. Might help?

Use AM + 2 BBM in midfielder... Sign those who r perfect to play as BBM ... 

Many here Scoring plenty... And with City u r not able to win then change ur tactic ... !!

With City u can win league even with default Tactics ... !!! 

Untill and Unless u play too defensive !! 

If u want to to play defensive then Use BWM and if u want to play more offensive then use Attacking midfielder like AM-SS-T-AP ... 

More u create chances more u can score....!! And Win !!

They are very "medieval" wrt PC of course 🙂... but they are not useless.  Going red if you don't use balanced option depends on your players' mental traits and morale in the moment.

Ambitious players like an aggressive approach. The calm ones and youngsters, a softer approach. 

If you have a recognisable majority in the start XI, you can use different messages in specific situations and get a reward.

I'd recommend starting here and adapting from there to how you'd like to play.
