Help Do you change tactics during the match ?

Yes I often change my tactic during the match depending on the (1) opposition formation + (2) scoreline.

You asked about (1):

  • I often play a 41221 / 4231, which has 2 central defenders (DCs) and 3 central midfielders (DM/M/AMC).

  • When the opposition has more central midfielders than us (e.g. they have a 442 diamond, or 5221, or Chelsea’s annoying 4312), then I’ll need to switch formations to have more central players and fewer wide players (e.g. a 3142 / 31411) - otherwise they dominate me down the center.

  • When the opposition has TWO STs, then that matches my 2 DCs, so I don’t have a spare central defender at the back, so I’ll either switch my DMC to an Anchor role, or pull him back into a DC position (so have 3 DCs) - otherwise any defensive mistake gives them clear chances.

Obviously this only applies if I’m NOT using a dominant team. If you use a dominant team, then often you don’t need to change.

I’m sorry, I don’t understand your question. Can you repeat it using different words, or give an example? 🙂

Sure) You gave me tips how to counter opponents formation,so I should have more players in defense and middle than opponent

But are there also principles how to counter opponent using tactics parameters like:

---Team Shape: mentality(control, counter attack, contain,) and etc...

---Attack tactics: like passing style and final third(look for overlap, throught ball)

----And other tactic parameters...

Cause I play for Brighton,i counter formation and still loose a lot even to teams that have worse squad and results

Sometimes I dont save and replay but countering their attack and also loose...

I think that is because I don't understand tactics principles.....How can I understand what exactly should I change in tactic during after the match has started  ????

I thing that this game is too random and has no stable principles...But then I see some guys get on 1-2 place in EPL..
