During the match, I find it extremely laborious having to click on every player one by one at half time to see what his motivation level is before deciding on what subs to make. A colour coded sign next to the player's name at all times just before and during each match would just make selection and subs during a game soooooo much easier....... Thx.

When its half-time you can see their motivation as the 'pre-talk' indicator which should give you a decent indication of their current mood, similarly during a match there is a view you can switch to which lists all of your players current moods with them highlighted in red/green to let you know when they're happy/negative (do bear in mind some negative moods can have advantages - ie. 'Angry' players will throw themselves into challenges and get stuck in, but might get sent off ... similarly some positive moods might make players a tad cocky and liable to do riskier things because they're confident ... when they come off its great, but sometimes you might not want them to be 'that' way inclined)

I don't do team talks. Also, I HAVE just discovered the view where their mood/motivation/level can be seen but have to keep scrolling multiple times during a game to get to that view. Would save a lot of faffing about if we had the option to set that or any other view as the default one so it switches to it after every in-game highlight.

Out of interest why don't you do teamtalks? (if you ignore them and simply continue they act like the game did before they went in btw).

1. Are the budgets, attributes, potentials etc. the same as in PC version? I want to know if I can use PC version's databases available in the internet

2. Can I change playable nations after the start of the game? I want to start in Chinese second tier, and then through Japan/S. Korea climb to England/Spain(or Italy), but I suppose that if I choose England and Spain/Italy as playable from the start, then until I at least get promoted to top tier I will have two leagues from which players don't want to sign me.

3. Winter Update will probably be towards the end of the month. if not March, right?

You might want to grab that save and send it to @Marc Vaughan (assuming he has time etc) - it means something has gone quite wrong if that screen ever gets shown.

  • They are close, but not exact.
    • Budgets are calculated when the save is created based on a number of factors and won't match the PC version exactly, but a rich club will be rich, etc.
    • Attributes will mostly be the same, but not all attributes from the PC version exist in FMM, some are merged etc, so they will obviously be different.
    • PA is based on the PC version, but young players (23 and under) have an extra layer of variability - when the database is exported from FM to FMM it creates a variable PA based on the FM version. FMM doesn't seem to store the -9 PAs etc. So if a 19 year old player is -9 in FM, then he will generate in the -9 range, maybe something like 165, and that will be stored as the default.
  • No, you can't change playable nations later, so you will have to start with whatever ones you might eventually want.
  • Yeah, Winter update is normally early March, but sometimes late February

Just never have done as I prefer a more streamlined and quicker style of playing. I understand it's going to leave me at a disadvantage but I balance it out by using the in game editor to view CA/PA of players or the assistant manager app (unavailable for FM 24) to view hidden attributes......... one of those "how I like to play the game" type of things.

Oh another request would be in the player search options to have a filter allowing to search for those with a release clause. That would help massively when looking for players to buy.

I have not played this game since FM 21, and I remember using weights to determine which players to play or buy, looking at the old Excel file it seems to have been at first: [(average of primary attributes) x 2 + average of secondary attributes]/3, but later I seem to have came to conclusion that if there are fewer secondary attributes then one attribute can skew the results and dropped it in favor of looking at primary attributes with factoring secondary attributes based on gut feeling.

What are approaches other people are using? I know there is FM Player Scoring App, but it seems to be only for PCs(and can't even use its' weights, because the list of attributes is slightly different), besides I don't want to know hidden attributes, so I prefer doing it manually in Excel, however I am curious what are better weights.

Yeah I used to do something similar. Primary attributes had full weighting, secondary attributes had half weighting.

Though I’ve stopped doing that in excel. Now I judge them just looking at it visually / not so exact.

That's fair enough and I'm definitely in favor of people playing the game in the way that they prefer for sure.

The reason this isn't possible is partially that some of the scouts specialize in looking for this sort of thing and it'd make them somewhat redundant if humans could do it easily.

That being said I'll have a think about this and if we can put it easily into the search side of things then I'll consider adding it - the other one I think people would like would be 'preferred moves' (ie. runs into channels etc.) ... so these are possibilities to be added at some stage.

So Bargain hunter scouts specialise in finding release clauses?

On another note it would be very useful if you could search by who doesn’t need a work permit. It’s an option when scouting but not when searching. EU National used to be an option before Brexit I believe.

Yes.

You can already filter by nationality within the game and EU for those clubs in Europe, but I understand that won't work for every nation/combination.

The reason this isn't a filter is that often there is a grey area involved and sometimes clubs do find a work permit turned down that they hoped they'd be able to get (this is also why you can appeal against the decision potentially).

To people who calculate some weighted average of attributes when scouting: do you calculate it for all roles on that position or do some sort of composite average? I do detailed weighted averages when assigning roles to players I already have, but doing it to every player I scout is a massive headache.

From what I am reading, in PC version pace and stamina are very important, even in positions that normally don't have them highlighted. Is this true for mobile version as well? How important is pace and stamina?

Also, what are the primary and secondary attributes for an inverted winger?

Anyone ever tried to carry a league to improve its league reputation? How far could it go?

Funny you should say that…

I’m attempting to drag the Welsh league up.

I wonder if it's possible to move like the Belgian or Dutch league to the top in terms of reputation, in a span of maybe 15-20 seasons.

I always think it would be a great challenge to turn the US into a great football country. However it seems impossible as the MLS clubs don't even have the chance to play against the major clubs in Europe.

It’s probably possible in theory. The issue I’m having is even though my team is good and doing well, even when we get to 2 CL spots, TNS, the other ‘big’ team in our league need to start doing well and they’re nowhere near good enough. I’m going to buy a fringe player if there’s for £5m as an experiment and see if they reinvest it in players 😂. I also sell them any player of mine not in the first squad to help them.

It’s a bit of a catch 22 as you need the smaller teams in your league to improve in order to increase the league rep, but you need higher league rep for them to be able to attract better players. Follow my save and you’ll see I guess 😂. I’m in it for the long haul.

Is there any way to save scum into getting work permit or if I didn't get it the first time I will never get it? Trying to play in Chinese second tier, and OMG it's a pain to improve without transfer budget.

I really, really hate this, I always played in Europe and don't remember it being that much of a problem - can In-Game Editor help me get around this, or will there be bugs?

Should be able to use editor to give players a second nationality and mean they don’t need a work permit.

The other way is to unlock abolish work permits. To do this start a save as Man City or PSG and sign as many players as you can who need a WP. Search for south Americans who have caps for there nation and are older and so cheap is usually the best way

Usually around 30 signings will secure the unlockable and you can then use that in any save by turning it on in settings.

Is there a limit to foreign players in Chinese league? There seems to be in IRL Super League, but can't find it in the rules of in-game CSL.

I am fine with giving myself a workaround the work permits, but idk if I want to take it that far with giving myself an advantage over other teams from the league(though looking at other people's careers in CSL the IRL limit does not seem to exist in FMM).

No, the real life squad limits aren't implemented in FMM, which is one reason the work permits are so hard to get there:

Many of us have asked for the squad limits to be included in the game, but SIGames have never added them, saying that they want to keep the mobile game simple.
