Disclaimer: This is a work in progress, will probably not be plug and play, more an attempt for me to create something based on my interpretation of a real-life playstyle.

I'll follow up with some more details and screenshots of results etc. but for now, here's the base, with no transfers made, and half a season played through to this point.

I’ve tested this with Man City, plan on doing it with a smaller team. Here’s the Man City result.

literally won every competition.

While I’m not terribly surprised about City winning everything with this tactic (Spurs winning the league comfortably in the first season confirmed it was fairly strong), it’s always appreciated when others give your tactics a go!

Out of interest, what was the game that you lost in the PL? Do you remember much about the goals you conceded, and whether they typically came in a particular way? I think this tactic has the potential to be a strong candidate for weaker team, but I’d like to improve the defensive aspect to allow that.

Lost to Chelsea 3-2

it was 31st game of the season, I was livid as was hoping to go unbeaten.

apologies but I didn’t take note of how the goals went in, here’s the analysis from the game though

That's a pretty gutting game to lose as well, to be fair.

Numerous fouls isn't an issue, and it's something I've seen in my own games. It's high pressure and high intensity, so it's to be expected. Interesting that you weren't booked at all though.

LWB is a problem position, very rarely do I see a rating above 7, however, he's a good position to open the game up, so I leave him as is.

Wasteful goalkeeper distribution is something else I've noticed, not just in this tactic, but most tactics I use, whether I set distribution to short, mixed or long.

So I’m half way through a season with Everton, goals conceded is an issue, noticing quite a few goals coming from long range oddly.

The DLP and LWB are my lowest rated players

LWB ratings are for sure a problem in this tactic, though his performances are definitely worse when pushed further back, and doesn't offer the required stretching of the play when set to Inverted.

DLP is another problem area. I've tried A, I've tried DM, with similar ratings. I've tried RP, but this removes him more often than I'd like from being the out ball for the CBs. Maybe I'll experiment with shifting him to LDM and tweaking roles, to see if this improves anything.

European football with Everton in the first season would be an achievement for sure, but I can't lie, seeing 1+ goals conceded per game makes me sick 😂

Unlucky mate, hopefully with a couple of signings in key areas to fit the tactic better, you will make that push on to Europe next season!
