Help How Important Is GK Technique?

Case in point, I’ve got Verbruggen who is a wonderkid, but then Rushworth came back from loan a beast and better in everything other than Communication and Technique. I’d say Rushworth is better but his Technique is only 10, not sure how that effects his goalkeeping skills, can’t decide which keeper for the number 1 shirt

Technique will effect how good the GK is with the ball so it depends what you want your GK to do. If you just want someone to stop goals then technique isn't needed but if you want someone who is good on the ball and has good distribution then technique will help that.

A sweeper keeper will especially need technique as they are expected to be good on the ball and build from the back.

Okay, so it’s literally just footwork? I read somewhere else that it affects all technical traits?
