Career Shaq Attaq 1k+

Time to go in for a long career and take on the 1k+ challenge. I’m aiming for 2k really but let’s see how we get on.

I fancied something a bit different for this one and I’ve never played the Turkish league so I figured I’d combine this challenge with getting a hair transplant and some new teeth (Love Island ‘24 here I come).

World class rep and star maker should start me off nicely. 
They’ve got 56m to spend, a decent squad (although much rebuilding needed for my 1k tactic) but most importantly, they’ve got Ndombele so I can hate him all over again.

Anyway, the chosen one?

Looks almost too perfect for this: 16 years old and already 13 aerial, 12 pace and massively selfish. We just need to work on that finishing!

He’s also lazy, unprofessional and has poor judgement but I’m hoping a good mentor can whip him into shape.

He only set me back 7.5m with Zaha going the other way.

And now, the painful rebuild begins…

I’m tempted to sign Mikey Moore and craft him into my right winger.

I signed and played 3 season and he is as good as Endrick !! As much development as Endrick ! And u don't need any mentor for him as he has good personality!!!

Season 1

Decent enough first season. His stats improved pretty nicely and he's still only 17. Aerial is now up to 18 but has been a struggle to get any more growth here with mentoring completely failing to help - both aerial mentors ended up made him focus on teamwork! His professionalism is maxed now though which is great.

45 goals from 52 games is great for a young 'un. The Turkish league is quite physical it seems so i need to get his stats up in that area as he missed a lot of games tired and is still quite slow - time to focus on his pace...

I also went quite wonderkid heavy for the team rebuild so as my team improves, that will help his service etc.

Won the league, cup and supercup. Crashed out the CL in the group stage but then got to the Europa League semis losing to Ajax 5-4 on aggregate.

 

Transfers:

Shifted some players that didn't fit my system to free up some money.

As I said, a few wonderkids here who will be great in years to come, but for now they're not quite good enough - I always do this...

I'm hoping Mikey Moore will become a good right winger for me (he's an insane IF in my Spurs save but I dont know how he'll train as a winger). Bardghji is my first choice left winger already and is class as usual. Pavon on the right - I'll never not sign him for this challenge. I'm pretty sure Adam Johnson is a Bale regen so lets see how he turns out too.

I need to tighten my defence and have more midfield options this year shifting some of the current players I inherited as they're just not good enough. 

 

Team:

Goals mostly coming from Shaq, mostly. Carrillo was one of my mentors but I also realised I had no back up striker so he had to fill that role too. He did a solid job but I need someone better next season.

Assists mostly coming from my wingers/wingbacks as thats how my system plays. Pavon is always a beast- much love.

Hello, I'm curious what kind of tactics you use.

Season 2

Some great improvement from him, mostly towards the end of the season. It was great to hit aerial 20 and getting his fitness up from 12 will be a huge help. That only happened at the end of the season so i had to manage his fitness a lot but he ended up scoring 64. 19 more goals from 5 fewer matches.

 

We won the league easily (conceding only 9 goals) and the cup but had a tough CL run and Barca knocked us out in the quarter finals. We didn’t have the depth to compete here when the games piled up. 
 

 

Transfers:

I sold a lot of players who weren’t needed to give me a good budget to rebuild the squad. 

A completely new back 4 in Phillips, Bamba, Netz and Lamptey. Neves was the big signing though. Theres also a few potential wonderkids so let’s see how they turn out.

We don’t have much squad depth but I’m happy with how we’re headed.

Not as many assists from Pavon this season but more from elsewhere which makes us more balanced.

I’ve gone pretty fitness focussed currently and will specialise after his next update maybe to have attacking/defensive/general/fitness/fitness

Every tactics will work when u have  good back ups !! U need back up for each and every position so u need 3 teams and 3rd team should have 7-8 members than u will win everything very easily!!!

Nah. I have a first 11 who will play as many games as possible and then back ups for the bench. I don’t alternate squads.

Season 3

Bit of a delay with this as the tactic file corrupted and had the bug where it kept changing player roles and other bits so I waited for the update, rebuilt tactic and we’re back on track. There was a period where I didn’t spot this so goals dried up. I was hoping for more but he still scored 79 goals. 15 more than last season in the same amount of games. 

He’s class now though and the rest of the team is levelling up nicely so I’m expecting big things this year. 
 

We win the league convincingly and the cup but had heartbreak in the CL final. 

Transfers:

Shifted the remaining deadwood and had a healthy transfer budget. The board seem to say yes a lot when I ask for more money which is nice so we could spend a fair chunk. 

Some better squad players came in. Thuram to toughen up my midfield. And the usual smattering of potential wonderkids to see if any develop well enough for my system in the future. 
 

Assists more evenly spread. Pavon went in Jan being replaced by Galeno. Moore is now first choice right winger but Galeno is a great back up option.

Love the choice of player and club, and he is looking an absolute monster.

Interesting choices with signings and I’ve always loved your ‘pick the player for the formation’ method of recruitment. One thing I’ve noticed with wingers is most good youngsters with decent crossing and dribbling can be sent on loan with crossing as training specific attribute and come back absolutely beefed up.

Look forward to seeing how the Bale regen goes. Mine seemed to get injured ALL THE TIME.

Thanks mate. Yeah i have a load of wonderkid wingers with training focused on crossing at various loan clubs to see who comes back good enough and who gets sold on. Sometimes they come back with shooting way too high but if I get good pace, crossing and dribbling, he’s a keeper. 

Bale 2.0 is looking good for me and hasn’t really been injured, although Coach says he may have an issue with injuries so I’m expecting some now he’s playing more regularly. Selfish and goes for goal a bit too much but he’s on corners now so is an assist beast.
