Chat What to do with too much money?

I am in year 8 of my career, and have been with the same club from day one. My strategy from day one was to rebuild the program with youth through scouting and development. I have done really well with this, to the point that I now have a full reserve team of expensive prospects. Over the past season, I have had to start selling off some of them to make room for new ones. Even though they hadn't reached their potential, I still made a ton of money transferring them out.

So now, I have 38 top prospects on my reserve squad with max possible contracts, I have a full senior squad who are all signed for 8 years, and... I have 930 million pounds and I am like 5 million pounds under my wage budget.

At the end of each season, I have exhausted all of my available funds through extending contracts or signing free players to flip for a quick return. If I don't use all of my available budget, does that roll over into the next season, or does the club just provide their normal annual allocation?

I am also looking for some ideas on how to spend excess revenue --- what are some of the ways in which you spend your money when you have too much?

If you looking to waste money then I think you have to indulge in some money laundering scheme

Try sending a club like City, PSG, Madrid or Bayern to lower division by buying all the 3 star players and above. Do it for like 2 seasons and they will be relegated

You've win it all, so it's time to ruin other clubs

Usually (in other FMM versions) if you move it all into your WAGE budget, then it’ll roll over to the next season.

What nation / league are you in? As you could ‘spread the cash’ around the league, by buying a rubbish youth player from every team in the league for 20-50m each. Why? So the whole league can afford better players, improve their training / youth facilities, etc. I did this in India on FM08 and it was good fun watching what the other teams did (and then I left my leading club and joined one of them!)

OR you could just pretend the money doesn’t exist any more - it goes elsewhere! A few years ago (in FMM22?), I set an increasing ‘net profit’  / ‘net sales’ goal every season - pretending the money is going towards ‘good causes’ in my team’s city (new hospitals, better schools, food banks, etc), so had to raise 100m net profit by end-season 1, 200 by season 2, 300 by season 3, etc … This got really difficult after a few seasons - trying to raise 600m in net profit after selling 500m worth the previous summer is hard!

Just two ideas for you 🙂

Thanks for the info on rolling it over, I'd have likely lost it all otherwise.

Your two ideas are great, I really like the first one. I'm coaching in the premier league now. Honestly, what came to mind is at least every other season, they talk about precedings for a club to fold. Now I want to see if I can buy up all their players, inject 500m into their club, and resurrect them (and who knows, maybe end up coaching them someday).

Great ideas, really, I appreciate both of your responses.
