Career La Triple Menace: Rob goes to France - Season 19

The last time I posted a career was a Triple Threat with three Brazilians - Guilherme, Endrick, and Roque - and I never finished it. Myself and the game consciously uncoupled. In fact, I wasn’t on Vibe itself properly for a while and can see it’s drifted away from being a career-based posting entity.

But I am back and I want to scratch the Triple Threat itch. For those who don’t know, you basically pick three players who can play in any of the front line and try and get 1,500 career goals across them. You can include international, just as long as you are managing.

Due to the rules and club, I’ve gone for our Parisian giants - Paris Saint-Germain - and opted for three French lads in the hope that I get the international job and therefore manage one of the best set of single-country players in the game.

So before I announce the players, anyone want to take a guess?

Thank you. Lovely guesses but not a single one right. I almost went with Tel but Mr Scratch used him last year and I can’t compare.

I almost went Elitike but dodnt. Good guesses. Thuram is heck of a player this year in the game mind.

So, the three players…

My main man, playing central of the three, is a chap named Moussa Soumano. Decent starting attributes for aerial, dribbling, shooting, technique, aggression, movement, and pace. Assign him an aerial mentor and he’ll beast up (clue: he does).

Flanking Mr Soumano first is Mathis Lambourde. I wanted this striker to be less beast and more whipper-snapper. He has good scout comments on all the flair stuff, which is important.

 

The third is a better known Wonderkid: Junior Kroupi. Decent attributes across the piece and back-up to Soumano in the central role.

Season 01

Not going to lie; I’m a little bit further along than one season. Therefore it’s quite interesting looking back at season one and what the players scored. It’s sort of akin to remembering life from whence I was a wee child - everything is coated in a blur and memories are stripped to misremembered facts.

Nevertheless, here are the transfers:

We had  big clear out and a large number of signings, which is fairly standard Redknapping for myself. Mbappe going to the rich Toon folk freed up most of the funds (when you included saved wages, too), which was invested in half and half of players for the now (Martinelli, Tchouameni, Bissouma, and Goreteza) and for the future (Lorran, Doue, Gordon (he’s alive!), and Echeverri). Zabarnyi, Nico, and Nico Williams are somewhere in the middle.

We did actually win the Champions League, beating Sevilla 3-2 with two of our goals coming from Kroupi and Soumano. We added the league title, which wasn’t looking great half way through, and the Charity Shield to the cabinet too.

The lads looked like this at the end…

 

…and grabbed 67 goals between them. A good start, if not spectacular.

An update…

In season 2 this happened…

So I applied…

…and got the job after eleven agonising days of waiting…

The lads began with zero international goals.

Transfers, nicely hidden away in here..

…we’re fairly high in quantity. The main takeaways were purely improvements in squad, hence a lot of part exchanges. I signed a few on free to then sell at a later date for profit.

We won most but sadly lost the Champions League. I cried.

 

The boys looked like this at the end:

Soumano looks an utter monster already. Anyway, they grabbed 86 goals domestically…

…and 13 for France, giving us 99 for the season.
