Hello guys this is my first time posting on fmvibe
Please excuse my grammar

On my quest to find a lone striker tactics with a perfect holding Midfield (DLP) that works in every league I've come to a close breakthrough

This isn't a plug and play tactics read through everything i write so you understand the tactics if you want to use it

INTRO

I will be explaining to you guys how and what I do that works for me and am open to your opinions also.
Personally I don't like conceding goals and I am aslo the possession type manager

(BARCELONA)

am in my second season with Barcelona

Am going to be talking about why each position was chosen and players i go for in each position
Then I'll go in further how the tactics work in match engine

Sorry for the long writing but I just feel some type of joy doing this 😊

GK
I use the sweeper keeper i look for a good keeper with good technique as I look to build up play from the back...a keeper that is comfortable on the ball is needed.
CB
As u can see I use both a Bpd and Cd
I use defenders that is comfortable on the ball  for both my Bpd and Cd good technique is required, positioning, passing, speed, aerial for me I will take a defender with 16 passing, 13 tackling, 17positioning, 15 aerial, over a defender with 13 passing, 17tackling, 16 positioning, 15 aerial  as I've come to find out positioning is more important than tackling the higher the positioning and passing the better for me.

RB/LB
I think of them as wide defenders and at the same time supporting wingers i don't know if that makes any sense 😂. So pace, crossing, passing, positioning and always look for that technique very important

CMF
here is the heart beat of the team if the Midfield is not working then nothing works
F.dejong got 11 assists in 27 games from the DLP position some will ask why I use a DLP
Well in the Midfield two I use a Bbm and Dlp here is why the dlp then to stay deep he recycles ♻️ the ball in the Midfield i can say the player in the dlp position is the most important, after using the black hawk tactic and watching match highlights i found out the Rpm left a hole in the Midfield when in possession so I decided to go with a Dlp so he fills that hole  when creating my own tactic.

20231224_162208.thumb.jpg.94e0e04f95b9894a0037c04b3131c92f.jpg20231224_162243.thumb.jpg.11773058d9c01bc85dbaa917432a615d.jpg20231224_162438.thumb.jpg.c4fb1a5ef321280644e7b0ff7e0b3929.jpg

Pf
Crossing, dribbling, teamwork, creativity,
Wingers In advanced position in the build up they then to stretch the defense when the
Width is set to wide they move wide most time in narrow width but when in the final third they drift inside

ST
I go with shooting, aerial, movement, speed, -teamwork.
Sometimes I feel like speed don't matter 😕
CF is the ideal striker to have I've tried.... P, Pf, Af, but Cf stands out for me

I would love to get feedbacks from anyone that uses this tactic thanks

I like the idea of your tactics. There is a player in front of the two CBs, and to delivery the ball to other players and support them behind.

I do not only use DLP, sometime I use CM role which will also work if you have other attacking role of midfielders (BBM, AP, RP..). Example, CM+PLP, BBM+CM.

I am interesting with the assistants from your DLP. What kind of assistant he made? to Who?

Cm will always go forward, Dlp is the best if I must say, A does perform in a similar way but A don't drift like dlp does

I don't have the Assist my dlp made but de Jong had 11 Assist in 24 games for me in my 1st season.

My current dlp has 5 Assist in 20 games 199099435_Screenshot_20231224-152348_FM24Mobile.thumb.jpg.762106dce57fc68d8be4b4dfe656266e.jpg1500920957_Screenshot_20231224-152359_FM24Mobile.thumb.jpg.118d221e64c53f6193cca71a8c8d1fb4.jpg261568906_Screenshot_20231224-152421_FM24Mobile.thumb.jpg.2ee23489771287340340d9e6addae1a5.jpg

Lost Osimhen in January, bought in Guirassy. Good striker needed, dominated most games. Lost semi final of champions league against Man City in the last minute of extra time.

left and right back with the assists.

won the league

won the cup

semi finals of champions league

good tactic

Played him left of the front 3, he was on penalties too so probably a few from them.

I seemed to struggle against AC Milan, not particularly sure why

Hi @unitedlad - great tactic!

I really love the 4213 shape and have a very similar tactic which I’ve just posted <here>

38EAF57C-C007-4BEC-9723-87568686DEDF.thumb.jpeg.282c07561f6651e4a75d4c06ec195baa.jpeg

Differences:

  • You rely on the DLP (for attacking / linking passes) … I rely instead on a BWM (for defending / covering an AMC)
  • You use WBs … I change between WBs / FBs / IWBs depending on my defensive capabilities + ST’s aerial.
  • You use slightly different roles for your front 3.
  • You have a mid-line / mid-press … I have a high line / high press
  • You have ‘central’ passing … I change between ‘central’ + ‘mixed’ depending on multiple factors.

Overall I can imagine your tactic is also very effective 👍 thanks for sharing

I change passing focus if I don't get goals in the first half.

I use disciplined in the start of the season and expressive from January it works a treat for me

I think it's plug and play

Nothing has changed

This is probably as able to kill this game as Black Hawk

Wow this is really good result, you didn't make any changes?

This has morphed into the tactic of choice, although I often start off with Overload/All Over and pull back to Control if I take a good lead.

Finding Overload really puts the onus on the striker scoring whereas Control brings a variety of scorers.

That’s a really interesting point - which I’d never have guessed myself.

Could you share any more of your observations / thoughts on this? 🙂

Luckily I've just finished a season where I played both about half and half.

When playing with Control, everything seems to go through the AP and while there are still games in which the striker scores a bundle, but for the most part their shots attempted numbers are similar and where they aren't it tends to be the AP having more chances rather than the other way around. The AP is the main provider of assists with this mentality also.

In Overload, the striker's shots attempted jump 2-3 times above the AP with assists coming down my right flank with the main RF having 27 and the combination of RWBs coming in at 33 overall. The left side didn't provide the same levels with 14 from the LF (who ended with a better avg. rating than RF) and the left side of defence often changed to a FB and occasional DFB to combat against 3-4-3s.

Replying from work computer, but have some screenshots, if you want to see them with noteworthy games when playing Control like a 5-0 win where the striker has 1 shot attempt.

I can't speak so much on the player movement as I play them as fast as possible, but could have a look in another career to see the differences when slowed down.

Hmmm I’ve tried overload bunch of times it just doesn’t click and goals come from others instead of my CF…took a long break since January now I’m gonna get back to the game and see if the tactic is still formidable as before
