Franky great work. In the latest patch you use control or attacking mentality ?

It's been control mentality for some time now.

Do you change it to balanced when you have match odds like 5 or 4? I've been trying with small teams but been having problems to be honest.

I don't change the mentality. The strategy is to continually upgrade your players as and when finances allow. Do that and the tactic will do the rest. It's a control possession tactic so not overly aggressive, therefore suitable for all teams.

Got it, thanks a lot!

What kind of attributes do you look for in these positions tho? I guess fast players at defense and good shooting midfielders, but is that rlly enough tho?

It's all in the initial post on the first page. Midfielders don't necessarily have to have good shooting, however it definitely helps. More important is they have a decent all round game and are hardworking, which is the most important attribute for all three.

@Franky1971 using this in my 2nd season with Torino, I noticed that Gyokeres isn't scoring, only penalties. Why is that?

Edit : nvm he started scoring

Edit 2 : how do I delete a reply???

I know I'm late on this.... but yeah great tactic here, had some great results in my first season managing Manchester United managed to do a treble of winning the League title, FA Cup and against the odds a UCL. (Went out of the Carabao Cup in the quarter finals after a 1-0 loss against Liverpool).

Incoming signings I made: Mazaroui to play IWB (RB), Guerra to play (RP), Ferguson to play (B2B), Taremi to play (PF) but I did need a striker as Hojlund was injured when the save started.

Also signed Yamal on loan (didn't play many games was mainly used as backup, only used when Antony or Diallo was injured).

Outgoings: Van De Beek, Maguire (player exchange for Taremi plus cash), loads of youngsters on loan who will leave on free.

The only flow I could really say about the tactic is, my players tend to do allot shooting, but not enough of them result in goals. This could be subjective as every save is different.

Some results were jammy and manged to win in "Fergie time". But results matter more at the end of the day, no matter how flukey they were.

Also used the good old "hairdryer" treatment at times. (Funnily enough just unlocked this title).

Overall, I would say fantastic 1st season at united.

Just hit summer transfer window now deciding on who to buy and what areas to upgrade. Struggling on which areas to upgrade.

Anyone having issues with players thinking this tactic is too attacking?  2-3 of mine complain about it.

Edit: Ah, looks like its the Entertainer badge that's causing this

I've hardly had any issues, I've been following the guide. Depends on what team your playing. I've been playing as Manchester United as I posted above.

I've bought players who either have the following personality traits:

Driven

Relentless ambition

Demanding

Also what helped me was focusing on attributes like teamwork and following Franky's guide on the types of players to buy.

Also when the team talk does take place I mostly chose the middle option or demanding depending on the type of game.

If I do win by say 1-0 result post game I tend make players do extra training or if I lose.

Anything above a 3-0 it's usually same again option.

Very rarely I give players a rest day off, only on exceptional circumstances.

Also noticed that my keeper gives the ball away so very often.  Long passing? Was that deliberate?

I've checked and the current keeper has 15 for passing and better for for throwing and kicking, but I keep seeing the in-game pop up that he's completed about 1 out of 15 passes.

Yes, keeper long passing is deliberate and specifically for this tactic....... because your team outnumbers the opposition in the centre of the pitch due to three midfielders and two inverted full backs all operating there, when your keeper kicks it long, even if the opposition win the aerial duel, your team will win a high percentage of second balls. When this happens, despite it giving your team an advantage, the stats will show that the keeper lost the ball........ therefore, this stat is irrelevant as it doesn't show the bigger picture!!

No tactics work well when you do this.

When i import this tactic it says import failed

You don't need to import a tactic.

Just follow the screenshots and replicate it on your game.

Seriously, this is a masterpiece. Been using it with lower and premium leagues, different teams with different season targets and it never fails. It's consistent every season. Defensively can be unbeatable with the right players. Train all your players for the right role and you'll have great fun! Some player suggestions for some roles - Thiaw (Milan) Ferguson (Bologna) Koopmeiners (Atalanta) Dorku (Lecce) Zirkzee (Bologna)

  • Some feedbacks -
  • For some reasons, it works better with control mentality rather than offensive, in terms of scoring.
  • It concedes goals (rarely) around last minutes 84/85 mins onwards
  • First halves are very often dominated - second halves the team seat comfortably controlling the game (I guess that's the target of this tactic?)
  • BBM's more prolific than IF's

Thanks @Franky1971

*edit - just realised many questions/feedbacks have been answered already. Ta!

Glad you are finding the tactic useful...... I've actually stopped playing the game last summer and can't even remember what the tactic is like lol....... going forward if anyone has any questions, I'd be more than happy for you to answer them as right now you understand the tactic much better than me.
