Help Dont score enough goals!!!

I'm after a bit of help. Just don't score enough goals, losing cup finals every season, only just won the Premier League. Hardly concede goals, dominate possession and generally have 10-20 shots a game to the opposition's 2 or 3, but draw far too many games. I've tried tweaking player roles, shape and attacking options, but once I do we seem to stop scoring entirely and lose games instead of drawing them. Any ideas anybody?

Both resources are for FMM23, but should be useful as the match engine is pretty much the same .

I obviously can be wrong, but I FEEL some contradictions in your tactic there. In some ways, you're too strict, but also too lenient at the same time.

If I'm in your shoes, I will start with tick off the Work Into Box (its effect is overrated, imho). Then, I might try to reduce the players' initiative a bit. I want them to be creative still, but doing it in MY framework. To me, any Mixed gives the players wrong (or unclear) message. So does Expressive, especially if it's the starting freedom.

Maybe there are some things that can be done further, but I think all the above should be enough as a base.

Thanks for that, I’ve tweaked a few things that has resulted in a lot more goals. Too many draws still but more goals and trophies. Thanks 👍🏻

About those draws, did those draws MOSTLY happen against heavily defending teams?

Yes, always 0-0 with us having lots of shots but not many on target. Striker or roaming playmaker will have missed 7 or 8 shots as well!

I guess so. When I encountered the same problem, I like changing roles the most. I change those into roles that encourage more forward runs (CM > BBM, or FB > WB, and so on).

I also might change things in Shape or Attack (especially things like Mentality, Through Balls, Focus Passing, etc), but in more moderate manner than the previous role changes, since I myself feel that pushing players forward provides better effects at breaking down stagnation than changing Shape/Attack.

I also like role changes more, because it changes the team when in possession, WITHOUT changing the core formation when out of possession. Imho, applying too much changes in the middle of a match would do more harm to the team than good. I try to change things as far as I can, without having to sacrifice my core too much. It would be better for the players in longer term, I think.
