Help LF Help with Arsenal Tactics

Started a new game with Arsenal, but am having trouble winning matches. Is there anything wrong with my tactics?

Yeah here’s a couple of issues / suggestions.

• ST - you’re asking for an ‘all over’ press, but have a non-pressing ST role (poacher). Assuming you keep the all over press, then suggest changing to an AF or PF role.  
   
• MCs - your DLP / AP partnership is too vertical (both drift inside - see spoiler) and interfere with your RP. Assuming you keep the RP, then suggest changing to B2B / CM or two B2Bs.

• WBs - are you sure you want WBs? Your front three don’t have dominant aerial, so it depends how high you want them - WBs push higher, FB are more balanced, IWBs drift inwards to support central build up play. Which do you want?
   
• Passing - currently you have a ‘mixed’ + ‘central’ style, which means  plenty of long + direct balls will be going to your Poacher - whose role isn’t really involved in build up play. Suggest to change to ‘short’ passing and/OR change the ST’s role to be better available for long / direct passes 
   
• 41221 - this is a great shape, but if you’re really desperate for a goal, you may wish to consider changing to a 4231 / 4213 (like my one 😉) with a more attacking mentality for the last 20-30 mins of a match.

Yeah

I replayed the Wolves match, lead 3-0 by half time. Changed ST to AF, centre midfielders to a CM and B2B, and wingbacks to full-backs. Short passing style, expressive creative.

Just that all happens only in the 1st half

Wow - while you shouldn’t judge a tactic based on one game - that is indeed a positive sign 👍 and switching on more creativity is a good idea.

As some extra ideas - if you need to protect a narrow lead - then in the last 10-30 mins consider changing your RP to a DM or Anchor, and your AF to a DLF / AMC and reduce your mentality / creativity. You’ll create less chances, but you’ll be more defensively solid. Just as an option for you 🙂
