Help U23 Management

Is there a way to manage the U23-team yourself?
I'm not happy with the players who get chosen to play, assistent manager is benching or not selecting some really good prospects...

No afraid not.

You can change which member of staff controls your second team so perhaps someone else will pick the players you want. The other option and perhaps a better one is to send your hot prospects out on loan.

You can't, all you can do is keep a small squad with the prospects you want to developed

That's a pitty. But good suggestion to keep it as small as possible, so he does not get to choose much.

 

Another question.
I'm farely new to the game and in the beginning of my carreer I forgot to select multiple Countries/Competitions. 
As I am managing KAA Gent, I only 'follow' the Belgian Competitions.
Is there a way to add countries/competitions?
I've have read that my database of players is smaller because of this.
Did not find any option do add some competitions, but maybe you guys know how.
I in my third season and don't want to start from scratch just because of this.

There is a way but I don't remember how to do it. I don't even know how I did it.

From what I remember, it's done this with me, I sacked all the staff, so had no coaches, no assistant manager (I like to bring my own in) and it sometimes put you as the manager of the reserves
