Welcome to my latest challenege.

Noticed a few guys have been pushing the boundaries recently with goal challeneges so thought I'd just back into the game, but this time we something a little different.

 

I will be initially going for a 1k challenege with the potential to further it, depending on how we go.

 

So this is my thinking, I'll need your help to select a league to play in, team to go, player to use.

 

Not too sure if you add a poll to these posts, if anyone knows let me know, so instead I will just go with the highest number of comments in say a 12-24 hour span.

 

Let's begin. It is a challenege after all, so let's pick from the top 5 leagues.

Your choices are as follows:

• English Premiership
• Spanish Laliga
• German Bundesliga
• Italian Serie A
• French Ligue 1

Leave a comment on which league you'd like the challenge to begin in and then we'll select a team.

 

I think we'll just keep this format throughout the selection process, 5-5-5.

5 leagues to pick from.

5 strikers to pick from.

So looks like we're heading to Spain for a LaLiga challenge. 

 

Next question is, which team do we go:

• Girona - Having a great season. Can I match it or even  better it. Smaller club that would take some time to build up. Should be decent enough for attracting talent.
• Barcelona - Financial mess of a club, plenty of dead wood but some great young talent in the squad.
• Valencia - Another shambles of a club, can we restore them to past glory?
• Almeria - Currently sitting rock bottom of the table with one win from 31 games. If it's a challenege we want maybe this is the team for it.
• Sevilla - Fallen on hard times recently after years of dominating the Europa league. Still a decent enough squad but a rebuild required to get them competitive. 

Again, mention your team of choice in the comments below.

Any other suggestions are welcome.

Girona sounds nice!

I’d also look into Atletico Madrid since it’s a 1k challenge and you could sell the whole team really and also Omorodion could be one of the strikers for 1k

Loaded my game and had a look at the transfer list.

Do I stick or twist?

Players I've selected as options.

I've never used any of these guys before so going to be exciting regardless.

Omorodion - Already at the club. No need to find anyone else.

Estavao - Young Brazilian, great potential.

Ferguson - Everyone knows what he is capable of.

Van Persie - If hes anything like his dad this should be easy.

Zivkovic - Never heard of this lad but looks like he could be a gem.

Ruberto - Again, never heard of this guy but he looks like a great prospect.

So looks like a bit of everything.

So did a random draw and ended up with Estêvão. 

Happy enough with this, seems like he's got a bright future ahead of him.

Brought in Ruberto too as I've never heard of him.

Was going to bring in zivkovic too but ran out of funds!!

 

Went for a mix of youth and experience for the remained of my signings. Shouldn't have to make much for for the foreseeable future. Just have to watch and see how they all develop.

Season 1

Not too shabby a start for the lad.

Developing really nicely, especially his aerial ability.

Pre season

 

End of season

 

Missed about 15 penalties through the season but still managed to put up decent figures

 

Hopefully get him a bit higher next season but not sure how much he can kick on with mentoring, already having difficulties with his mentor second time round.

Turned up for the big games too so hopefully this is a sign of things to come 

 

Season 1 = 37 goals

Did you give him a mentoring? How does aerial grow like that in one season?

Yes had Giroud mentoring him, have him training as a complete forward focusing on aerial. 

Even I was surprised by the jump.

Went up 2 or 3 every time he got a bump

I’ll take a guess and have him at over 65 goals next season 😂

Going from strength to strength.

Slowed down a lot in thr aerial department but making up for the elsewhere.

Would like to get him up a bit more but I feel he is just going to fall out with any mentor I give him now.

Loves a goal on the big stage.

More goals already and he missed about 6 games through the under 21 tournament.

Season 2 = 86

TOTAL = 125

Looks like you have got huge update and got amazing goals stats 

I am also trying to do 1k challenge but whatever tactics I come up with it will not work I have tried 6-7 different tactics but can't find one can you please help me create a tactics for me

Think it's safe to say we'll be back for another Champions League final.

My boy got a hattrick in the 1st 35 minutes so subbed him out because he's pretty exhausted now given all the game time he gets.

Bring on his replacement who goes onto get a further 5.

Season 3

Going from strength to strength as an individual and as a team.

Absolutely stormed every competition this season. 

Going undefeated in the league and cups.

Can he hit 20 for aerial? Getting close now, hopefully get 1 or 2 more jumps before he plateaus

Absolutely loves the big stage!!

8 goals now in 3 consecutive Champions League finals 

World Cup coming round next. Hopefully Brazil get punted out early doors and sack their manager so I can take over and get him that much needed international experience.
