Who have you been using to mentor him? 🙂

Edit - because an aerially-strong mentor would pass on a (usually +1 point per half-round of mentoring) improvement to the aerial attribute. Do two full rounds of mentoring and that’s a +4 benefit

@DanEnglish hi mate

I used many aerial game players 17+ (2 defenders, 1 attacker recently) and all the guides did not last (relationship problem he was superior in the other attributes).

Is there another way for him to develop on his own because he is past guide age?

Generally (most of the time, but not always) you need to use someone who has the same / a shared position - like a striker to mentor another striker’s aerial.

Once he’s 24 years old, or if he’s fully reached his potential, then he can’t be mentored anymore. As Ferguson is only 22 years old - has he reached his full potential yet?

Otherwise you can only train him as a TM, focus training on his aerial, and ‘hope’.

U need 2 fitness coaches+ use TM or PF role for striker and use 1 BWM in CM position!!!

PS. Certainly more fitness coaches (I often use 4 fitness coaches) would help improve his physical attributes.

Training as a PF seems like a bad idea, as it won’t train his aerial - right? 🤔

I m not telling to train as PF I am telling about player's role either choose Pf or TM instead of any other role in starting!!! After increasing aerial attribute u can change it with roles like Poacher!!! Trian as TF and play as PF !!! even without mentoring I can reach 17 to 20 Aerial with this 2 roles !! And make sure ur team cross more and play on the flanks for that u need either 2 CM with BWM OR BBM !!! IF u use Bbm than u need 2 WB and 2 wingers !!! Don't block the BBM with IF - IW !!! BBM can play 1-2 pass!!! So they can plass both WB and wingers !!!

Normally if you have him as a TM I would personally buy somebody with great air traights and mentor him, when you get your 1st mentor message, cancel and re do, keep doing it till he hits whatever you need him to be at, plus will give him advantages like professional player etc so well worth doing buddy

Also if I want to score 100 a season etc (I get bored after 3 seasons at 1 club haha) use 2 fitness coaches, 1 youth coach, 1 attacking and I am motorvional

Not even half season is completed I able to increase my players Aerial +5 +6 without even decent mentor!!! I don't use mentor for improving Aerial attribute i rather focus on his Personality development!!! Like professional, determination, work rate , even without work rate ur player can perform better but only strikers should be selfish !!!and other team mates should have hardworking personality!!

With mentors it is VERY useful for them to have at least similar positions - the reasoning for this is that the way a striker attacks a header and the way a defender does is very different in the main ... that's one of the reasons why not all defenders are effective at going up for corners, they might win headers a fair amount of the time but their training concentration is all about winning and clearing a ball to safety not aiming with power at a specific target.
PS - The comment about concentrating on personalities is a sensible one, an unprofessional, lazy player will generally develop more slowly than a hardworking professional one for obvious reasons (you'll also find that professional, hard working players (outside of injuries) will tend to stay at the top longer than someone who slacks).

@Marc Vaughan Can you confirm if a unprofessional player who is "rebelling against the club/culture" does not receive the passive professionalism improvement if that is an A or B under Team dynamics?

The same for a lazy player who "dislikes the work rate team mates expect", do they lose the passive work rate improvement if that is a A or B under Team dynamics?

Finally, if professionalism is A under team dynamics, is the passive improvement powerful enough that it can ever get rid of a player "rebelling against the club culture" on its own? (without mentoring).

Thanks

A bit late on this, but something here poked my interest.

Mentoring a player several times can be effective? By what I read on the game in the mentoring section, I always thought you should only mentor a player once. Any help/advice?

Yes you can mentor players at least 5 times if u cancel mentoring partnership after 1st massage arrive of you mentoring player!!! Cancel and re start than again cancel and re start!!!

So, as soon as the first email comes saying the mentoring is going well, I cancel it and restart it?

Yes it is. I almost always mentor young players up to 3-5 times.
