Tactics 1k goal scoring tactic

If you are struggling to hit the magical 1k goal give this a try.

Worked wonders for me in the scottish league with celtic.

I prefer to train my main target man as a complete forward with focus on aerial to begin with.

2x attacking coach and 2x fitness coach.

Myself as general.

Obvious things like getting max facilities as soon as possible is essential.

I found playing my man from the get go worked well, hopefully your choice striker isn't intimidated by the league of your choosing.

Note, I did play a round with the role quite a bit and found all of these worked nearly as equally well as the other. Poacher, target man and especially pressing forward. However I decided to stick with advanced forward as I found it had the biggest return.

Side note, I also found that passing central was nearly just as effective mixed but in the end decided to go mixed purely because everything else was.

Everything at set pieces should be aimed at him. Either mark keeper or near post worked best for me from corners while hitting penalty area.

Free kicks I just had best aerial as he actually was my best aerial.

Usually either go forward or again mark keeper.

One thing i did struggle with was his stamina. Dont know if it was because he was challeneging for too many high balls or because i simply never managed to max it out.

Again, good movement will be required as he was often caught offside.

Another thing that did cost me plenty of goals was his poor pen taking ability, sorry but there is purely nothing that can be done about this. I've found that the majority of you players I've used have poor set piece abilities and this is something that you cannot train, at least that I am aware of so far. Would be delighted if someone could enlighten me?

I used giroud as his mentor because he had great leadership, teamwork and aerial attributes.

All essential in building your 1k machine.

Disclaimer.

Just because it worked for me doesn't mean it will work for you.

Although it should!

You obviously need a strong team.

I tested it for about 5 games in my atletico save with Estevao and he scored a boat load, was only on 2 when i started (slow start to season).

Did a small test with Man City to see if it would work in the prem and the results were encouraging. Although Haaland loves an injury

Strong defensive and strong attacking.

Haven't tried it with lower league teams so cannot guarantee it will work well with them, don't see any reason when not if you have the right calibre of player in wing positions.

I've added my manager attributes,  again, not sure how much they effect development but these are the ones I usually roll with so you can chose to go with these or your own preference.

Anyway, that's enough rambling.

I'd love some feedback on this.

Can it be improved? If so how?

Kudos for sharing mate when you have obviously spent so much time perfecting it 👏

Like I said, it worked for me, no guarantees others will have the same results.

(PF) for the bands and not Inside Forward (IF), why?, I'm curious

Purely because I don't want them anywhere near goal if possible

Very nice tactic there buddy. Good of you to share as well. With you spending so much time and effort on it. Very very similar to mine. I use 2 cms, 1 ss, 2 wingers and 1 TM, normally play just before the all put attack. Be interested to see with the AF, I'm guessing you need pace, and some decent aerial.

Again. WD buddy

You can share screenshots of the variant instructions you use, I want to test all possible variants

Yeah definitely buddy, you have worked hours. Even days. Every tactic that we release won't work for everybody. Even mine, I still lose the odd game here and there.

No tactic is sealed, everyone is different with players etc.

With my Tactic, I mean yeah it's brilliant but I manage in Denmark most of my career lol

@deepheat83very nice write up and well explained mate. One thing I chop and change with and struggle with when I am searching for new signings is best attributes, would you be kind enough to share your attributes you look for as a minimum must have for each position please if you don't mind ?

You could play the three strikers in the middle. But instead, 2 T and 1AF. I figured the Ts always pulled to the side/wings . Having a motivational coach could help too. There's a good chance a striker coming from your youth team would have good penalty ability. And solid mentals too, that way he'd still keep going even in a losing match.

Yeah good one

Lol, some people have no idea just what you can make this game do when you push it year after year after year... I guess if you're new or just been playing normally, the sort of thing we can do looks like magic or something unbelievable... 🙄

BTW, interesting you have wide PFs, because I've been using that too, even with pushed up Ws just behind them. Seems to work really well by pushing the defenders wide and leaving the ST with less players collapsing on him.

Pushes them wide but find the box to box midfielders crowd in a bit too often for my liking.

Tried it with Ball winning midfielders but doesn't seem so effective with getting the ball to the PFs.

Work in progress maybe

Yeah, no BBMs here!! Though I was talking to someone recently about (for eg) left footed left sided BBMs going out wide if there was space. That was in 22 or 23, so might not still be the same, but the idea of BBMs that are wider and less likely to be crowding into the box (and shooting) is pretty intriguing.

But for now, my tactic is working well for me, wide PFs and Ws stretching defenders and crossing, but only the TF in the box, with the MCs not the sort to push forward...

I think there's a lot of possibilities in this sort of tactic that are waiting there for us to discover!

I like your set up,

Very similar to what I ran a few years back with Endrick when I went for 4k goal challenge (even saying that sounds wild!!)

Never did finish it, what could have been.

Again this was a couple of years ago so maybe they did drift out as am sure I played left footer on the left and right footer on the right.

Good theory, in principle it should be accurate

Oh wow, the exact same shape, just different roles! I never realised, but now I see why you were scoring so much! 😀

As for how I got there - I'd been moving my CMs to central PFs mid game for a while now (when my striker gets too surrounded and doesn't get many shots), then I tried wide PFs instead and then I thought, why wait until mid game!

It certainly works well and creates more space for the striker.

Please don't use the 4K term in my hearing! I am tempted to play on with SvP and see how far I can get, but trying not to think about a silly target like that! 🙂

I didn't really dig into it, but I remember noticing that they had more crosses in their match stats etc. I might come back to it at some point, but pretty happy with how things are working right now.
