Tactics 5-5-0 football terrorism

Recommended Posts

Fewest ever goals conceded in my fm seasons. 2 in league, 5 overall. 1 goal conceded away to Man city,Inter and Barca.Screenshot_20241212-012928.thumb.png.6836b29cab5c6a0683a99da099b865e2.png

Some observations

*Man-marking with all 6 of my defensive players resulted in fewer shots conceded

*Odegaard scored 14 goals as RP,mostly long shots,so high technique is really important in your RPs

*The wingbacks need good dribbling, pace and crossing to beat their man. It was mesmerizing to see Saka beat 2-3 players pretty often before crossing. Good tackling is a plus.

*Running at defence allowed my midfielders to get into a better position to shoot, hence increasing quality of shots

*Time wasting was ON all games unless im losing

*Courtois saved a lot of 1v1s with his 19 reflexes. 20 aerial was big for crosses too.

*In games where I had to rotate Tchouameni out for Hato,l was conceding a higher volume of shots

*La liga played a role in this as well. I had Newcastle on other save and concede 5-9 on average in league arguably due to stronger opposition and volume of matches(league&fa cup) which takes a toll on some players

*The BWM drops in between my CBs and Bellingham drops deep as SS essentially making a low 6-4 block and eating shots

I sold Rodrygo for £130m. I usually sub vini or brahim for Odegaard as he always gets tired really quick and swap Bellingham to RP

nice job, I'm nostalgic for the catenaccio. a tactic that arises from correct reasoning also in the various defensive and offensive instructions. Bravo. The only weakness is that with weak teams you don't get to the attacking phase. With Real Madrid the test is made easier that there are top players. I would be curious to see the performance with a medium or low ranking team. Great work.💪

Cheers, and yes Madrid made attacking transitions okayish. With lower team Im guessing prioritize wingbacks and a good AF. I will probably try with an average team after im done with Madrid. Trying to get 10 consistent seasons with low goals conceded.

UPDATE: Changed defensive line from High to Balaced. Might say im allowing fewer 1v1s and space but Ive conceded 2 in 19 league games (1 pen 1 corner which triggered me). This is what games look like.

31% might be the lowest possession ive seen but we dont care 🤣

Season 2:

Conceded 5 in league, 12 overall. (Lunin P4 GA2) Replaced Rudiger and Militao with scalvini and de ligt in jan. A lot of tricky away games. Lost 2-0 to barca in league and cup. Still b2b trebles. Trying out different positions for sone players. Screenshot_20241215-064920.thumb.png.f71d23913c80cf80cc8e13db5bc66a1b.png

my wingbacks, both rps and SS carried my goals. so you'd want those roles prioritized. set pieces helped alot too. You can also concede fewer goals i think your defenders arent maxed

4 season with your tactic, O loss in League, i really like this tactic.

Screenshot_20241223-201510.png

if u want slightly more goals u can change the SS to AF up top. Only downside is he may not do enough defensive work. Bellingham at SS for me was tracking back a lot and used his dribbling to progressively carry us when he was on his own waiting for support
