Challenges The Fabulous Esposito Brothers

On Sunday 8 December 2024, the three Esposito brothers scored 5 goals between them: Sebastiano scored 2 for Empoli (vs Verona), while 250km away Salvatore scored 2 and Francesco Pio scored 1 for La Spezia (vs Cittadella).

What better way to celebrate their goal scoring feat than to create a challenge around them! We'll keep it simple, making it total goals scored by the three players (all competitions) and we'll keep it short, making it one season.

Unlike real life, we'll get them all together at once club. The only way to do this is to play as Inter - Sebastiano and Francesco Pio are both on loan and can't be bought by other clubs - but they can be recalled. And of course Inter can easily buy Salvatore.

None of them are quite as good (in FMM) as they used to be, but they are all still decent players. They are still all relatively young and will have some development coming, which adds to the intrigue of the challenge.

So, break out your attacking formations and work out how to play them together for the maximum goal return.

 

The Details

• The Players: Salvatore Esposito (the Italian one, not the American one), Sebastiano Esposito and Francesco Pio Esposito
• The Club: Inter Milan (called Blu-neri Milano in latest version)
• Length: 1 season (must be the first season of the save)
• Leadership Board Points: 1 point for each goal from the 3 players, across all competitions (but not friendlies)

 

Rules

• No Unlockables;
• No cheating (no editing, no scouting apps, no reloading etc);
• Own formations (can be similar to others, but don't straight up copy with no changes);
• Any badge, reputation or manager titles;
• Any database (original or final winter version);
• Transfers allowed; 
• Retraining positions allowed (would make sense to retrain Salvatore in the AMC position);
• You can attempt the challenge multiple times, but only your top score will be on the leaderboard;
• Again, don’t cheat

Nice challenge, if I remember rightly one of them (I think the ST) was actually quite awesome in previous years, think I had him at inter when he was 18/19, shame to see him where he is now

Yeah, Sebastiano, he was my go to striker for a couple of years, really great. Francesco Pio was only added this year and in the first version his PA was 170, so I got excited thinking he was my Sebastiano replacement - his PA dipped almost 20 points in both the current databases (winter one and the original one). Still good, but not quite next level. And you can really only use him at Inter because he can't be bought

For the record, I have two teams set up like this (no idea if this will work, so I might very well change it):

Well it hasn't been the best of starts - only 14 goals between them in 10 games. I slowly moved Salvatore forward from RP to SS to P and maybe it's a little better and maybe it's not... And the team results have been a little inconsistent too.

It's a little frustrating as I just completed The Tree challenge on Discord, with Harry Maguire as my tree and he had 14 goals in 12 games, so almost as good as the 3 lads combined! That was with Inter with a similar team, so I'm heading towards that tactic (same as above, but with PF TF PF). For the moment I have P TF P though, but I might end up with PFs at this rate.

Hello everyone.I started playing the game again after a few years.Actually,I was still in my first career.I was trying to unlock the locked features and experience the tactics and roles that are meta in the 2024 version.But when I saw this challenge of @Scratch,I wanted to try it.

Frankly,I still have a lot to try and learn.No matter what I did,I could not get the efficiency I wanted from my forward.I am definitely not satisfied with the forward's performance,but I think I got good efficiency from T and RP.I will be more successful in the challenges in the future.

Winning wasn't the issue. Getting those 3 target players to score the majority of the goals proved tough. For the first half of the season anyway. I rested them a bit too much at times but I wanted them at peak performance.

I'll revisit this if someone beats that score as I still think I can tweak my tactic a bit and get a few more goals out of them.

Had a relatively easy draw.

Arsenal, Man City (Halaand was sent off after 20 mins in the 2nd leg. Was 2-1 down after the away leg and won the 2nd 3-1), Dortmund then Leipzig in the final. Won that 8-1 😳.

Impressive. But yeah the lads are a little goal shy. My way of playing is either they score or we don't score, so I'm getting a lit of narrow wins or even draws. No spankings like that!

My second attempt resulted in 79 goals - an improvement, but not much of one!

So I knew I wouldn't be threatening the big boys with my efforts on this one but I thought I would have a go anyway.

Mine is a measly 43! But it does have a few notable achievements

I wanted to get 3 players (well, positions) scoring and I managed that.

I decided to just sign Salvatore and make the most of the rest of the squad to see what I could achieve.

Turns out it was a treble and would have been a quadruple but for a ridiculous pass from Sommer in injury time of the Super Cup final!

Lautaro, Thuram and Calhanoglu covered the front three late on on games and basically did most of the business!

Pio underperformed for me, given those stats. I think in a second season, he would double his goal tally. Sebastiano should have been mid twenties but got an untimely injury and Salvatore's shooting just wouldn't budge.

Have added you to the leaderboard mate - amazing that your bench players did better! The main lads are just a little too underpowered to shine with this. I found I relied on Sebastiano more than I was expecting, so losing him to injury must have hurt (I mean take either of the others, but not him!). Anyway, thanks for giving it a go and also for getting me off the bottom of the leaderboard! 😀

Had a couple more goes at this......and finally made it......97 Goals

Hit a purple patch in the middle of the season which helped....had a few injuries and suspensions along the way,  but none too major.....and won the league......and got to the champions league final, but lost it in extra time....

Alternatively, I have another 1 season save in mind, goal scoring and assists for 4 players. Called The 3 Musketeers, it would have 3 old French players (Athos, Porthos and Aramis) and 1 young French player (d'Artagnan). I'd probably make it 30+ for the older ones, even though those characters are twenties apparently. Not sure if I'd make it any club (more interesting) or a Paris based club (authentic to the story). If you're interested, I'll write it up.
