I'm kinda beginner in FM

first of all, let me tell you what kind FM players I am.

1. I'm not paying attention to the match that much. I'm just more focused in 2nd half to sub in sub out

2. I'm mostly take a look of my staffs to find suitable role (especially scouts and Physio)

3. I always use assistant help to pick players because I didn't paid attention to my players that much

4. I didn't organize every players training, it is what it is by default.

5. I don't manage friendly match

6. I can't perceive how I wanna be tactically. should I change every match to find suitable tactic to my opps or should I just leave the tactics what it is.

7. I rarely sign players, only young players.

please help me, how you start your saves EFFECTIVELY. and to be fair I always be champs league because I use big clubs, but I also acknowledge that your 2nd season is gonna be tough as AI adjust themselves to make it difficult for us. and how I can prepare for next season as I don't know what to change or what to look?

your help will be much much appreciated from me! thanks in advance

If you play this way

You will not enjoy the game

The fun is to coach and pay attention yo details, watch and find ways to tweek things to win

Improve players and make them stars, sell and buy and improve others

Manage friendlies to try new tactics and give players opportunities to know who stays and who goes on loan or who is released or sold

Play the game and be a coach, you would enjoy the details

As above buddy, set your formation, get the right places for your formation, I would say 2 minimum for each postion. Don't leave your assistant to do your 1st team. Probably worse thing you can do. Young players yes and no, what I do is, I have my own unique formation (took me hours upon hours) I have a rotational squad, tend to put the better players for big matches/league, when comes to smaller cups, play the reserves or players who haven't played that much. I have about 4/5 older players, could for experience/passing certain roles onto younger players. On my last save in Denmark, I had a player that had played for me for I think about 19 years, he was 42 but he had personalities for loyalty etc so he was generally used for the youngsters. He had scored over 1000 goals in 19 years, which isn't to shabby for me haha. I enjoy a challenge, so I stay with one club for about 3 years, then go to save a club from relegation. The lad above I signed about 6 times lol 😆 😂 🤣 👌 I could go for the 2k challenges etc, but would bore me to death staying at 1 club for more then 10 years. The only time I've done 10 seasons was the above player in this years edition. Was getting quite painful for me after 5 years and bourdon cript in. Every one is different, but if you have a outlook on what you want to do. The game is easy, I know who I want and the playing style I want. Easiest FM mobile I've played in a good while.

Just took over as Peterborough, 15th in the championship, 2028/2029, I'll keep them up easily, might even sneak into the Playoffs.

I used to do the same thing manage a “big club” for 20+ seasons but this tends to get boring after a while.
Also in real life most managers don’t stay at a club for too long at most 5 years unless they’re old school like Ancelotti, SAF, Wenger etc.

Sure to get used to gameplay and basics at beginner level it’s nice to start with a big club with a big budget.

Every year I usually start with a big club to get used the mechanics of the game. But then I have multiple saves going at the same time.

By multiple saves I mean doing challenges such as Mourinho challenge, SAF challenge, athletic bilbao challenge, homegrown challenge just to name a few.

As people above have mentioned just think of how you want to play or would want your team to play. Do you want your team to gegenpress, tiki-taka or fast counter for e.g.

Then apply your tactics and train your players to play those roles. Don’t leave it to your assistant. As you’ll find your players will get injured often and players will be unhappy if they’re not playing enough games.

Signing wonderkids are fine, but for them to reach their potential they have to be playing often. You need to have that balance of experienced players and youth.

Currently I’m doing a save with Blackburn Rovers who when I joined them were in League 1 financially close to winding down. Sold allot of their top earners and bought in couple of free agents and signed players on loan and promoted a few youth players. Won back to back promotions. Currently in the premier league. Having just got in to Europa league. Due to Manchester United winning the Europa league last season. Otherwise I’d be in the Conference league as I finished 7th last season. The main challenge has been trying to also keep hold of players as I keep getting tempting offers from other big clubs for my players.

I also see that if I leave training to AM they just got injured easily, so it's the only thing I managed.

so how you guys started new save? what to look first. like how your routine in your new club? any kind of help matter and will be appreciated. Thanks!

When I start saves I tend not look into much. For me building reputation is key.

But if there’s a challenge I really want to do I’ll go for that. So for e.g last years FM I wanted to do a revival and resurgence of Lyon. The only trophy they won as of recent was French cup in 11/12 season. They hadn’t won the league in over a decade. Also financially they’ve been a mess. It was a slow grind but after 5 seasons I had them win their first league title, in between I picked up conference league, europa league and the domestic trophies. By the 7th year I had won them their 1st UCL. It was a grind, but I kept persisting winning league title after league title. Accomplished my challenge, what I set out to do which was to knock PSG of their perch.

If I’m looking for something that’s a bit more fun or that’s going to keep me occupied I’ll start in the lower leagues. So I started a save this year with FC United of Manchester which is in the National League North. Transfer budget is really low for these sort of clubs even the amount staff you can and quality of training and youth facilities.
For transfers I usually look into the loan market and spend most of whatever money the club has upgrading facilities. As this is key to churning out good academy products and getting the best out of your squad.
As I started moving up in the leagues my reputation was increasing which ment getting job offers from other clubs in like league 2 and league 1. But I stuck with the club I was at.

I can’t speak for everyone in terms of setting up, but this is how I started. As everyone has their own way.

But like I said in the post above having the right players and tactics are highly important and make the difference in you becoming successful or getting sacked.

Also player personality for me makes a difference. I tend to keep players or sign players who are Model professionals, determined/ determined leader, level-headed, loyal and demanding.

I usually pair them up to mentor players who have just come through the youth, as they’ll pick up certain traits from them. Once they hit 17/18 I send them out on loan to clubs in lower leagues depending on which league I’m in to develop, then after a few loan spells I’ll throw them into the first team.

I usually first fi the staff situation.. Try and get gold staff for all three roles, coaches, scouts and physios. There are good tutorials on this forum for staff recruitment.
Go to the manager options screen and delegate whatever you feel to the staff, I usually delegate the friendlies and squad numbers.
Now, training, tactics and team management;
You said you dont pay much attention to the team. I used to do this too. But, try to have a look at what players you have in your team, mess around with player roles. (From the settings, turn the highlighted role to 'trained role', which will show the important attributes for the role the player is training in. )
If you are a beginner, I would personally suggest forgetting about complex tactics, a simple 4231 will do. It is also fine to use tactics from the forum, like the Blackhawk (great base tactic)
Once you do this, you will have an idea of you best players. Don't use autopick. Select your best 11 and bench manually. Save this selection. Now, you will clearly be able to see what players fit your tactic, where you need to improve etc.
Load this selection for most matches, but of the players are not fit, (green circle is not full), swap the player with another bench player. This way you will understand what you are doing.
Once you do this much, you will automatically start realising what you team needs, hence transfers.
Ask one of your scouts to look for young players,, two for the positions you need.
One last recommendation, start with the club you support irl. For me, Man United. You will know exactly what the team needs which will make the game easier.
