Chat Pointers on tactic

Hi guys,

 

I was wondering if anyone could help me out with my tactics .

 

I play a possession based line-up but it's not creating chances. The striker and my wingers are not scoring.

 

Its very solid on defending.

Ill send some screenshots of my setup, the results and my striker.

I get a lot of the ball, but not enough goals.

Often i get the reports: 

Lone striker struggled

Not enough attacking runs from midfielder.

 

I tried just playing IF's Instead of IW's.

The team im using is one of the worst in the league, and im only using Academy and out of contract players.

My best guess is that you lack support for the attack...

An Inverted Winger is not a goalscorer oriented role, could you tell why would you choose an IW for the both of your wingers?

 

I'd recommend to put at least 1 of your wingers into an IF role to support your lone striker.

 

Also, try at least to turn on some options on your Final Third. You may turn it off all again after your squad has good chemistry.

 

Im still new to the game too but at least this is what i do when i'm lacking of goals or conceded to much.

Im using IW's because they usually help defend and in my opinion the IF's do not.

And as how i see it, the IW'S CM-AP and WB surround the enemy box with a striker inside it.

 

I dont want to tick on the attacking options because i think they do to much of the wrong options. 

When looking for overlap is t that slowing down my wingers and taking their sting out of the game? 

 

Same with shooting on sight, im thinking that takes away on my possession.

Hi Dan, thank for the help.

 

I usually dont wanna use a CAM.

A 4-2-3-1 usually gives away a lot of chances with the teams im playing (usually lowest in the league).

 

Id love to use a RP as DM, but my opponents often used a AM or SS, and they seem to cancel out my RP.

And in the leagues i play, no player is really good enough in all the requirements of a RP.

 

I love my wingbacks giving width to a attack, but i thought my IW'S would be looking for through balls to the striker or would shoot on their own as soon as the WB over takes their position, but this is not really working as planned.

 

Furthermore how influential is the attacking option? Usually my WB's are playing as wingers when i tick that on.
