Tactics Hansi Flicks esque 4-2-3-1

Recommended Posts

Hi! This is my first contribution to the tactics forum, I normally lurk here for ideas but believe I've came across a decent enough tactic without having used anything else as a foundation besides loving what Hansi Flick is doing at Barcelona lol.

Please feel free to leave suggestions or recommendations if you find that a variation of this tactic might work better, was inspired to put this on here because I've went on a 10 game win streak after having mixed results to begin the season with a different set of instructions.

The general idea was to try & emulate what Flicks system is translated as best as I can to FMM24.

Instructions:

Szczesny or Pena have both been very adventurous so SK I felt like was the obvious choice, I've contemplated maybe only having one CB on BPD because I feel like Inigo Martinez won't dribble as much but both Cubarsi or Araujo on the right certainly like to take things into their own hands. Wingback has seemed to work best for Balde & Kounde as irl they both push extremely high & will find themselves beyond Yamal & Raphinha in attack when they cut inside, one thing I haven't been able to replicate is both of their recent tendencies to cut inside but I haven't tried using my wingers  on W & fullbacks on IWB so that could potentially produce results.

My double pivot consists of a RP & CM, I usually play Frenkie & Gavi here as I don't have updated rosters, so no Olmo until the summer. I've found them to be basically interchangeable at either position but I tend to put Frenkie at RP when I'm setting a lineup. Ahead of them is typically Pedri at AM although I'm thinking about swapping to SS when Fermin comes in, but AM has been working well.

IF for my wingers has worked so far, especially for Raphinha but whoever is on the two flanks tends to score a goal, & PF is what I've gone with for Lewandowski, he's not done spectacular in any role this season with this tactic although at least through one season I'm attributing that more so to bad form & age as Vitor Roque has been getting goals in the same spot, & don't get me wrong so does Lewandowski but I wouldn't count on him to score first at least in my save.

Changed tactic slightly, BBM to RP, BWM to CM, AF to PF, slight instruction variation

Sorry to hear man, what team were you using  & playing against? Have you had the same results in more matches? Do you have players that are suited to a high pressing system?

I've found them to be basically interchangeable at either position but I tend to put Frenkie at BBM when I'm setting a lineup. Ahead of them is typically Pedri at AP although I'm thinking about swapping to SS when Fermin comes in, but AP has been working so I haven't touched anything yet. I've also wondered about having my BBM be a RP especially if SS produces results to get that CM more freedom when it's eventually Pedri.

IF for my wingers has worked so far, especially for Raphinha but whoever is on the two flanks tends to score a goal, & AF is what I've gone with for Lewandowski, this is probably the weakest position in my opinion I'm not having excellent results considering who's playing there but I've been more focused with ensuring the overall tactic has consistency before I tinker with anything. He's not in a drought but he's also only scored 3 times and gotten 1 assist across the stretch, averaging a 6 rating

that's interesting. I also tried making Hansi tactics. but maybe a little different from yours, In this photo I put a red mark showing the position I used The left winger is more forward in the IF position, he will go to the middle more often like Rafinha did LW's right middle CF/DLP SS/AM attacking midfielder. I lowered CM's position to DM with RP and DLP rolls, because it uses a high line so there's no need to worry about the distance between DM and AM Left back WB right FB central defender BPD2/BPD+CD if you don't have a good BPD, and goalkeeper SK. I apologize if any of my explanations are inaccurate because I used Google Translate 🙏1738595437248.thumb.jpg.385887a3f701fc4101ba5b8ec9afdd84.jpg

This is awesome man thanks for your insight, I've definitely been tinkering as the season has gone on. I felt like my wingers kept sending too many shots wide so I turned on work into the box. I also have swapped to having an RP & DLP although stuck with them at CM not at DM was primarily concerned with them not pressing high enough at DM but it's good to know you're having success that way. Lewandowski has also had slightly better luck as a Poacher but for now I can't decide if my 10 is better at SS or AP.
