I've decided to slowly start sharing my journey toward a goal career I've recently started. I've learned a lot from the fantastic experiences shared by the FMMVibe community, and I greatly appreciate that. However, I do also want to experiment a bit and see what strategies work out the best.

I’ll stick to the general challenge rules without using any editors or unlockables, but I’ve got one little twist. As some of you might know, I’m a big fan of regens and love watching them develop — that's what I enjoy most about the game. In order to get high quality regens, I’ll be using the reload method during off-seasons only since I know how to track them effectively.

Here's a summary of the knowledge I learnt along the way. I will keep the updates flowing.

 

(A) Choice of Player

As the title suggests, I’ll be using Cristiano Ronaldo’s regen. I believe that regens are best suited for goal challenges since they often have very high potential abilities (PAs). While Ronaldo has the highest PA in the CF position, players like Benzema, Lewandowski, Suarez and Cavani would also be solid choices.

 

(B) Choice of Club

You essentially want two things for goal challenges : (1) as many matches as possible; and (2) weaker opponents.

That’s why Celtic is a great choice. Celtic can play in the UCL. With over 60 matches each season and relatively weak competition in the league, it’s an ideal option.

 

(C) Selection of Coaches

Physio - 2 prevention, 1 rehabilitation

Coach - Youth (myself), 1 Attacking, 3 Fitness

I can’t emphasize enough how crucial fitness coaches are! They provide a significant boost to players' pace, stamina, strength, and aerial ability along their growth journey.

 

(D) Tactics

I'm employing a strategy that I've thoroughly tested in another save.

Use gegenpress and overloading shape to maximize goals. Set piece tactics are vital as well.

 

(E) Mentoring

There's a great mentorship list shared on Vibe earlier. 

 

(F) Regens

Regens are the backbone of this journey. To create an absolute dominant squad, I built a regen army.

It is easy to spot a regen. They share the same nationality, natural position, and strong/week foot combination as the original player. They typically spawn during off-seasons between July and August.

Ideally, you want a 15 y.o. regen with around 200 total attributes (TA) and a high teamwork value.

 

(G) Team Talks and Player Morale Messages

Every small detail counts. Good team talks can increase your player's morale and work rate, and likely leading to better performances.

Team Talks	When to use
Relaxed	When u see some players are: (1) Lacking confidence (2) Nervous (3) Afraid win streak will end
Balanced	Default mode in league matches
Demanding	Default mode in cup matches

Half time team talks are simpler - satisfied if leading, unhappy if drawing/losing.

Also, don't be afraid to sub out the player when you see the below warning messages during half time:

There are two main objectives when I first take over the club: build up good finances (so that I can have enough funds to buy the regens) and get some good players (to win us games).

Both will involve selling the existing players – because, let's admit it, this Celtic team isn't world-class. I checked the players on FMInside, Liel Abada is the standout player with a relatively high PA, but he isn't exceptional either. So the goal is to replace most of the squad with high-PA wonderkids and develop them. High-PA wonderkids develop very quickly when given enough game time, and they'll become better than the existing squad members in no time.

 

(A) Transfer Business

I did try to sell most of the team, but unfortunately, there just isn't a lot of interest around these players (and I didn't use any transfer tricks). But we still managed to get some players out and obtain funds to get many wonderkids, so I'm generally pretty happy with the transfer business.

(B) New XI

Realistically, I only expect Moukoko, Duranville, Endrick, and perhaps Guler to be at the required level when the regens arrives. The rest will likely be developed and sold for profit.

I think I quickly switched to "The Black Hawk" after like 10 matches. The players remain the same - I just play them out of position.

(C) Competitions

We start our season with a nice win and has a pretty nice start to the season:

As expected we're not quite good enough for the UCL yet. And that's perfectly fine - player development is the key at this stage.

The kids are getting better day by day. We win everything domestically to finish off our first season.

 

(D) Season Preparative Season

We're in a much better financial position. All thanks to West Ham – for some reason, they were willing to pay a whopping 63m for Abada! This bid really came from nowhere and of course I gladly accepted. To be fair, though, Abada was last season's player of the year.

It allowed us to bring in some more great players, like Zaire-Emery.

In terms of competitions, it was more or less the same as the first season, so I won't waste your time. We continued to win the domestic treble and entered the quarter-finals of the UCL, only to lose to PSG. Most importantly, the kids are continuing to develop nicely.

Next season, we welcome our star boy, the CR7 regen... things will get exciting!

At the start of the season, we welcome our long-awaited CR7 regen - Jose Andrade. Remember that name, everyone!

We won everything domestically and in Europe! The UCL final was a bit shaky, but we managed to pull off a victory against Bayern.

Got some quality youngsters there buddy, awesome. That's what I do as a manager, buy them young, send them out on loan for 2/3 years and boom. Keep repeating the process, sometimes sell at big prices. Into my 20th year now, won over 30 trophies and 16 league titles with various clubs. 

Keep up the good work buddy, have you got them being mentored? As this helps massively

How i can find the regens?

As my team continues to improve, I've decided to adopt a more offensive approach in domestic matches this season. However, I still prefer a more defensive strategy in the UCL, given the stronger opponents we face.

Jose is developing steadily this year. In the scouting agency rankings, he has climbed to the number 2 spot among the top wonderkids in the world, just behind the Suarez regen. As you can see, all of the top 10 wonderkids globally are from my team, so Jose definitely has a strong squad surrounding him.

After two incredible seasons, José and his gang are on the verge of becoming world-class. As you can see, almost all of my starting XI are five stars CA already, allowing them to easily dominate the league. It’s time to implement overload football to help José score even more goals.

We won the UCL against Bayern again to wrap up the season. Gotta give credit to Bayern, though—they’ve reached the UCL finals three years in a row, only to be defeated by us each time.

Man that's some quality work with patience.

I have to give you that you are great at finding regens and Develop them. I just suck at this part. Always gets Regens with poor Personality and poor hidden traits. And always fails to mentor them.

And you are using 3 Fitness. Just wow.

At this speed you will achieve your target in next 3-4 season.

I'll follow along with full interest.

Yep certainly all regens are being mentored. It's always good to have more professional/hardworking players in the squad, I believe it has a positive impact to the whole squad atmosphere and lead to better performance.

Try to add own player to offset the transfer cost and set the sell-on clause to 50%.

For bargain deals, also try to find wonderkids from La Liga as they usually have a rather low release clause.

I'm looking at my tactical board and thinking about ways to improve.

As I go over the attacking instructions, I realize that the "through ball" tactic aligns perfectly with my team's style. I've decided to implement it.

Additionally, I've adjusted my defensive instructions by setting José to "Stay Forward". Every small detail matters.

Could this be a brilliant move? Let’s see...

There is one minor injury towards the end of the season. Luckily, it's only a minor knock and Jose does not miss any matches because of this.

The opponent of UCL final has finally changed! We defeated Juventus this time.

We just had a 200-goal season, so obviously I didn't change anything on the tactics. Could we do even better?

All is well until Jose suffered an injury in December. He missed 5 matches because of that.

Cyprien, the Benzema regen, really stepped up during this period with a 7-goal match. It's almost like he's saying, "Why not use me instead?"

But honestly, that just shows how high the quality of my squad is. You can plug anyone into the CF position and still net 7 goals in a game. 

Beating Barcelona away easily. Really start to dominate the UCL too.

Beating Liverpool this time in the UCL final.

Why. In previous seasons, your player screenshots contained the date + the bottom row. However in the season 6 screenshots, the date + bottom row disappeared / cropped. See 2 screenshots below.

When that happens it’s usually either because someone did something strange when screenshotting / uploading, or because someone used the editor. This is such amazing player development and performance (hats off to you sir!) that usually we ask to check if they’re some cropping like that  🙂

Wow ok, this I didn’t notice. Luckily I have records on this to show the reason behind. 

This screenshot was taken right after the match (as Jose was injured and finally returned to his best after the development bar fills). Thats why it is without date and in-game morale messages. You can check that yours will be the same.

This is the closest screenshot I have with date in the next season. I am already few seasons ahead of the posts I made, so I can only dig out my existing screenshot records.

 

Again, NO EDITOR is used….haven’t even purchased it. Why would I put in so much efforts to record these if that is the case. And i guarantee i can score way more than goals than 200 goals per season if i have access to any editors.

PS. Look at the average rating. Wow. 🤯 This is a crazy career, I was wondering when Simone would attempt it, but your twist on it (CR7 regen) feels somewhat unique 👍

Well I mean i don’t even have the editor button in-game 😅 anyways good to have clarified.

High average ratings come naturally with goals. 2 goals in a match and a perfect match rating (i.e. 10) is locked in.
