Help Bad coaching report and how to improve them

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, I started a career in FM 24 mobile with the aim to build a club as well my managerial career as well. I choose an EFL league one club Burton Albion. I got lucky with a good tactic that placed me in the premier league but now the club is full of youngstars with potentials but bad coaching report like I inconsistent player, lacks determination, has the tendency to bend the rules, tends to struggle in big matches, unconvincing penalty taker and free kicker, may have concerns over injuries. I want to know if this can be fixed and tips to fix it

Personality - Mentoring
So for each player, if you go to their 2nd page ('personal') on the top right it shows their 'personality' (e.g. model professional). If you click on that personality, it'll show a pop-up box with the details of each player's personality (e.g. unprofessional, lacks determination, etc). These can be changed by (i) mentoring and (ii) squad dynamics.

Some quick guidance on mentoring is below:

Spoiler
  • you want an experienced mentor (an elderly Jordan Henderson, or Scott McTominay, or anyone with lots of green positives on that personality pop-up) - must be aged 24 or older.
  • your younger mentee must be aged 23 or younger
  • when the mentoring cycle finishes - the mentee will gain the full value of 1 of the elder mentor's personality attributes - e.g. going straight from unprofessional to professional. Of course if the mentor has a negative personality attribute (e.g. mercenary), then this could be the attribute passed on.
  • Search this site for more mentoring tips / details / examples.

Personality - Squad Dynamics
For squad dynamics, if you have a great squad of professional, determined, loyal, consistent, hard-workers - then an individual young player will slowly improve in these personality / hidden attributes over time. Of course, a squad with bad personalities (unprofessional, not determined, mercenary, inconsistent, lazy) will pass on these attributes over time to the rest of the squad (especially the younger players)

Personality - Motivational Coaches
Certainly having a gold motivational coach helps with your youth academy graduates' personalities. Plus a motivational coach may also help improve your squad's personalities over time - I haven't seen anyone test this, but I'd guess this impact is likely small compared to the two options above (Mentoring & Squad Dynamics)

Injury Prone
'Rarely injured' and 'injury prone' are two ends of a spectrum / range based on a hidden attribute (called something like 'injury proneness'). This can't be changed by the user (you). Sometimes a player can become injury prone after receiving a horrible reoccuring injury, but thats relatively rare. Most of the time this 'injury proneness' value remains fixed throughout a players' career and when they retire gets passed onto their regen (e.g. a Gareth Bale regen will always be injury prone). All you can do is manage their fitness (low intensity training? Sub off after 70 mins? Sell?!)

Set Pieces
Each player has a penalty / free kick / corner ability rating - which also cannot be changed. May of FMM's experienced players really wish we could train set piece abilities, but unfortunately we can't yet. Therefore the set piece abilities remain fixed throughout a players' career and when they retire gets passed onto their regen (e.g. a James Ward Prowse regen will always be great at set pieces)

Does this help? 🙂
