Chat Mentoring Traits (why aren't I getting any positive traits?)

So I've been doing the half-cycle mentoring trick to get good personality traits on my players. However, I find that they occasionally take more than 30 tries (I don't count, but it sure feels like that haha) to even get a positive remark after disbanding the mentorship. Is there a reason for this? For reference, I am currently having this issue with my Youssoufa Moukoko who's being mentored by Lewandowski, and I have not been able to get another positive trait from Lewandowski in over what felt like 40 tries. Is there maybe a sort of limit to how many times each mentor can pass on a trait? Genuinely curious and would like to hear some thoughts from the community, as this frustrated me into making ann fmmvibe account ahaha. Several tips would be nice too!

Personally, I'm struggling to make any effect on the Workrate values.

They are completing mentoring, and picking up some mental attribute increases, but not for workrate.
