News FMM26 Feature Set Announced

Side question: if, and when Russia’s sanctions will be lifted, will it be possible to see Russian clubs back in European competitions? 
And Russia national team is indeed playing friendlies, the national team should be able to arrange them and call players.

And now, starting a career! After overlooking the database, seems I won’t need to use the editor as much as in previous years. Great job done!

Guys, there are some serious problems. Every time you start the game, it loads all the graphic patches (logos, kits, faces) as if you were using the reload skin command. It takes forever to start the game. I'm forced to play without them (faces and kits). It's also incredibly easy to play if you're playing with a strong team. With Juventus, I won 10 times and didn't concede a single goal. After 10 matches, I'm already top of the table, 10 points ahead of second place (I deleted my career). Furthermore, if you use the counter-press tactic, your opponents don't get past midfield; they only advance with long balls, free kicks, or corners. Every tackle is easily won, and you win all the balls back with counter-press. Corners are completely inaccurate, and the ball often ends up in the sidelines on the other side of the pitch.

Your joking? I've unistalled the game, just about to download all the kits,faces and logos. Please don't say it does this every time we load up???

Just the logos take 1.5 minutes. If you put everything in, it takes 8 to 10 minutes.

I put logos, kits and faces all in fmf format, it takes 1.5-2min for me to open the game which is... Not the greatest but I can do I guess

We're presently investigating the reason why loading with lots of logos is slow - it appears to be something to do with the cache not working correctly, watch this space ... we'll obviously resolve this and get it into an update as promptly as possible.

(incidentally can you chaps/chapesses let me know is this an android only issue - as my initial investigations seemed to indicate that it was, anyone finding this on iOS?)

Marc, it's as if the skin loading function isn't functional; in fact, it takes very little time, practically a moment. It seems like this function is performed directly every time the game is launched.

Anyone on iOS have an issue in this regard? (basically from what I can tell so far - the android version appears to be having issues locating/loading the cached images (which is why its quicker to load once its created the cache normally) ... we're investigating and obviously will get a fix out in due course (warning - first fix will likely be crashes only  (and basically a hot-fix) - this sort of issue will likely be resolved in the second update we do).

@Marc Vaughan I know this would be low on the list, but there is a glitch with VAR that was also in FMM24. Basically, if a team scores a goal which is given by VAR, the opposition(team that conceded) all teleport back to their kick off positions before VAR confirms the goal. It looks weird and it also spoils the fun as you already know the call VAR is going to make. Could this be fixed eventually?

I really like the new Premier League graphics for VAR though!

Also, in the features reveal, I saw a holidaying option where you could pick the date you could holiday to. In the actual game you're still limited to a month. Is this coming in a future update?

Despite these things I'm loving the game so far, 2 wins from 2 with West Ham, Premier League license is amazing to have! Great job to you and the team!👏

I thought that was already fixed tbh - its not 'perfect' but shouldn't be as visible in most cases now (or I thought it was improved) - I'll get QA to take a look and do more work in this area as required.

This option is only present if you're unemployed (when it'll stop automatically if you have a job offer) - reason being is that if you holiday long periods with the force tactic/squad set then it'll get really confused after a while as to whom to pick once you've had players get tired/injured.

When managing a Women's team do you ever get the option to move a home fixture to the main ground like say Man Utd women playing a fixture at Old Trafford instead of LSV?

This option is only present if you're unemployed (when it'll stop automatically if you have a job offer) - reason being is that if you holiday long periods with the force tactic/squad set then it'll get really confused after a while as to whom to pick once you've had players get tired/injured.

Mark, this game is incredible. The Libero is amazing and glad to see that counter attacking football is extremely effective, it’s incredible!

Can you expand on the counter-press tactic, not really sure how that even works mostly in the game.

At the moment no - but in the future its something I think would be a nice touch (also hoping to have some women's teams who don't have their own, build stadiums in a future version at some point).

Right. I'm half way through a Celtic save. 

I really like the layout. The colour scheme works for me and is clear and readable.

Matchday experience is smooth and enjoyable to watch. Albeit after awhile I tend to switch to text only on fast as after 30+ years of playing the various versions of this game you learn to read it.

In all honesty my only gripe is the lack of more tactical flexibility and i prefered the old training schedules from a the 2019 era. Felt like it actually did something compared to the current training system.

Obviously in the future(when ever that maybe) I think something like cm01/02 wibwob would be a good starting point to maybe something more progressive.

Yes i would like it to still be pick up and play though as thats the whole point of it but with maybe a toggle switch to turn those features off before starting a new game if you didnt want them.

Just my thoughts 😁

Publishing tactics isn't a priority right now. The game needs to be thoroughly tested first to determine what works and what doesn't.

I been seeing that counter works a lot, I tried your past FM24 tactics and have been destroying opponents, you aren’t wrong. It’s very dominated right now.

Up until recently I'd have said Man Utd winning would constitute a bug ... but recently the tide has turned somewhat ;)

Out of interest what do you feel is missing from the training effects today? - you can actually shape the development of your players using the current system which wasn't as feasible in the system from 2019.

I've some thoughts in that regard - but need to flesh out the concepts somewhat (my aim would be to allow more advanced users to use more depth, but not complicate things for people who don't want the increased complexity).

I'm glad you like it, but I repeat that the game needs to be thoroughly tested first. All corners need to be tactically revised; they're much more inaccurate than on fm24. The overtaking press and hard tackles are currently being tested, and are excessively dominant over the opposition. A very positive note: the opposing team now has more rational positioning in the defensive phase; I see a sort of increased mixed-man marking from the CPU. The overlapping moves are no longer aggressive, but there's more rationality. The most dangerous plays come mostly from the 14th position of the pitch (centrally), but the crosses are still, or perhaps less, dangerous than on fm24. Before editing a tactic, all these aspects need to be considered.

Agreed, I just played Liverpool away, created 5 chances and dominated, but they scored 3 times, my midfielders and defense structure seems much more open for some reason.

On FM26, the CPU team is slightly more focused on the center. However, this release of the game offers more space on the flanks. Tactics must be developed taking all these factors into account. I repeat: it's better to test now rather than rush into tactics.

I didn't see any delay in loading app, but actually first impressions on the game are negative. 

I loaded a FMM24 save and  a popup informed me that I successfully imported a FMM24 game in "FMM25" (after 1 hour, the message was corrected in FMM26). FMM24 was overwritten by a new update (not a new app) so I couldn't revert to FMM24.

So, the app is quite a simply FMM24 patch + with database updates + different graphics and match engine + some new feature (like pre-game training that, with right tactic, wouldn't affect match result as I restart 5 times the same game using 5 different tactic).

And there's some bugs in imported games: for example when clicking on an Academy young player, the buttons are inactive and you can't back, so you have to force the shutdown and restart app.

Furthermore, during single matches a player can inexplicably go from a rating of 6-7 to one of 3-4 (!) and the pressing system doesn't work properly because the players, especially the full-backs, tend to crowd areas that are already being attacked by other teammates.

I'm a bit disappointed but not surprised (and why there's clear information about the inability to use anymore FMM24 if accepted the "update"?)
