Chat Has anyone fallen foul of the financial regulations yet?

I have been given the warning that I need to raise 49.5M pounds before the end of the season. I was waiting to get to that point to see if it was because I selected no first xfer window and so my budget is 0.

Yeah I have. I started international management before taking charge of Newcastle, after the FIFA world cup. They got relegated to the championship. And due to financial regulatory problems, we had 12 points deducted. You can appeal against the regulation which I did. And I lost, that's why it was -12. (They first gave a -6). I set the financial regulatory to normal. Transfers seem more realistic now, cos big clubs like man city weren't splashing cash around everywhere. How I figured this out was that, in the fm24, big clubs especially man city and Chelsea ALWAYS splashed cash around on every new wonderkid even though they had top players in those positions. It's not really the same now.

P.S: I think Cole Palmer deserved better hidden attribute stats than what he has in the game 'level-headed'. No determination, professionalism, capable under pressure. Maybe a 'Fearless'

I had 9 points deducted with Man United. Was a bit of a save killer honestly, had no desire to keep playing afterwards.

Started a new game with them turned off and won't be using them again.

I've not seen anyone post about this side of things yet ... are you all behaving within the rules or has anyone fallen foul yet?

@Marc Vaughan  I cant remember what I set this to when I started up but haven't seen any teams with points deductions.  Can I change this mid save or would I have to start a new save?

It needs to be enabled at the start - you can't change it mid-game.

The default startup option (if you didn't change things) is enabled but with a lenient position initially, this means the regulation is in effect but the game starts with the situation as if you'd made a decent profit in the prior 3 years of the clubs history (which means you won't run into any issues unless you go absolutely insane in the transfer market in the first season basically).

The other options are:
Enabled / Normal - This means a realistic starting point

Enabled / Harsh - This is the 'hurt me please' option where you start with your club having made a loss in the prior three seasons.

Disabled - No, I'm scared no financial regulations for me.

Where is this ON/OFF switch in the game?

On/off switch - you mean for financial regulations, its on the startup flow when you being the game - go to 'advanced settings' (or whatever its called) during the flow.

(if you mean exiting the game itself - most of the app providers don't allow that so you have to close according to OS standards)

Kinda, might have overspent ever so slightly in first season with Newcastle. Got an £8.1m fine after 1 season, and a message saying I need to make a transfer profit of £199m before end of season 2 eek.

My one suggestion is that although I need to make £199m the board still gave me c.£200m transfer budget for the season. Maybe the budget should be zero...

Well, it didn't happen cuz I sell my best player over financial regulations. If I didn't do that, I felt my career comes to an end 😅

Can anyone tell me any other leagues that half financial regulations in game (when it’s selected in game when starting) other than the premier league?
