Tactics Defensive 4-1-3-2 (Lower League / Underdog)

I’m a bit old fashioned in that I love old-school style defensive tactics. Functional, not flamboyant. It’s early doors so far on this tactic, but decent results. In the two games against weaker opposition I switched the mentality to Control for the first and Balanced for the second. It was in the Control game that I came closest to conceding in any of the games so far, so I’ll be sticking with Defensive for most games, and Balanced when I’m favourite (which looking at my fixture list, is never).

It’s really narrow and disciplined, not at all exciting, but should hopefully be effective when you’re the worst team in the league.

The BWM often drops back to make a 5-man defence, while the AP stretches the pitch to form a diamond midfield in attack. Match prep I focus on transitions.

Let's try, can you update the fixtures when you're a little further along, because I beat Milan in the friendly with my own tactics and drew with a team worse than me in the league.

I have been experimenting a lot with defensive mentality since they usually retain possession really well (60%+) and i love that, just a suggestion maybe replace the FB to WB (Sometimes i even put them on WBR/WBL instead of DR/DL).

Because on defensive mentality FB barely go up (as opposed to Control/Attacking/Overload mentality where they go up frequently and sometimes as aggressive as a wingback).
