Chat Mentoring and Training

I just started my first save after leaving my old fmm24 save and looking forward to create a godlike striker of my choice (changing back Mathys Tel's age to 18) and I was wondering if the old training and mentoring after a half cycle method is still working to get traits? Haven't had much luck lately when I cancelled their mentoring sessions. Would like to know if there are new ways or if the old ones still work!

I've just cancelled and restarted a mentoring for the second time to try and get the desired trait. Got nothing the first time, second time I did pick up a trait (although not the one I want). So seems like it does still work.
