Career The London Boy Challange

LONDON-BOY CHALLENGE

Hello guys,

This is my first time posting and creating a thread here.

Previously, I called this challenge the “Scott Parker Challenge.” As far as I know, Scott Parker was a footballer who only played for London clubs. But when I checked, it turns out he also played for Newcastle — so I decided to rename it the “London-Boy Challenge.” Lol.

images.jpg.af0edc8b42915b57143a8d2eb789e1d5.jpg

The rules are simple: start unemployed and only sign for clubs based in London.

Here’s the list of eligible teams:

·        [PL] Arsenal

·        [PL] Brentford

·        [PL] Chelsea

·        [PL] Crystal Palace

·        [PL] Fulham

·        [PL] Tottenham

·        [PL] West Ham

·        [CH] Charlton

·        [CH] Millwall

·        [CH] QPR

·        [L1] AFC Wimbledon

·        [L1] Leyton Orient

·        [L2] Barnet

·        [L2] Bromley

·        [ENL] Sutton Utd

·        [ENL] Wealdstone

·        [ENS] Dagenham & Redbridge

·        [ENS] Enfield Town

·        [ENS] Hampton & Richmound

·        [ENS] Hornchurch

And the Main Target are:

·        Win Premier League with 6 different London Clubs.

·        Win European Competition (UCL, UEL & UECL) with 4 different London Clubs.

·        Win UCL with 3 different London Clubs.

The others are just bonuses.

I don’t know if the targets are too hard or not, but yeah — I’ll give it a try!

Okay, I’ll keep this thread updated. Stay tuned!

SEASON 1: THE BEGINNING OF JOURNEY

Disclaimer: This is my first ever career thread, so sorry if it’s not perfect. I’d really appreciate any advice to make the story better. Hehe.

I started the career unemployed (as per the rules), with no coaching badges and an obscure reputation.

 1.thumb.jpg.03e3fe048c89ba73d894df85c0e3a07d.jpg

At the beginning of the game, I submitted job applications to Crystal Palace (of course, rejected — lol), Bromley, and Sutton Utd (sorry, I forgot to screenshot it). I was hoping to start my career with a League Two club, but they all rejected me. Poor me. 😅

Then, in early December, Dagenham & Redbridge offered me the manager position.

2.thumb.jpg.64726fa30c802c7bd43c02d5b28d4bfc.jpg

They were sitting 4th in the league, and the board’s target was to win promotion to the National League as champions.

3.thumb.jpg.32e948984950b021f56f6f83b044158b.jpg

Everything went quite well. Even though Ebbsfleet, the league leaders, beat us 5–4, we managed to keep the points gap close.

By Gameweek 43, we were level on both points and goal difference.

4.thumb.jpg.eaf0baad7bc6bd516478e37c190b41c1.jpg

And guess what — we finally finished the season as league champions, securing direct promotion to the National League! 🏆🎉

5.thumb.jpg.c525548601913fa98abb60d32c4b8c58.jpg

Here are my player stats:

6.thumb.jpg.3133379a213b0a973ec5cfe6bb976510.jpg

Andy Carroll — yes, that Andy Carroll from West Ham — was our top scorer. The previous manager didn’t use him properly, but I made him my main striker alongside Tyreece John-Jules.

Oh, and I almost forgot — before the season ended, I took the coaching badge exam, and guess what? I somehow got the Gold Badge! I’m not sure if it was a bug or pure luck, but hey, I’ll take it. 😄

7.thumb.jpg.d9cb4f35631a9da6593f636e01c4b84f.jpg

Alright, let’s move on to Season 2. I’ll try to climb the ladder as soon as possible… but let’s see what happens.

See you in the next season! 👋

SEASON 2: A LITTLE BIT OF REGRET, BUT LIFE MUST GO ON!

During the summer transfer window, none of the London clubs decided to sack their managers, so I continued my journey with Dag & Red.

Everything went well. Despite a rough start, we kept our momentum in the promotion zone and were leading the race. By the end of the year, we were still on top. Boreham Wood and Southend were our main rivals for promotion.

Spoiler

4.thumb.jpg.1feae08299fbb41304ab1baf9eec8d28.jpg

I submitted applications to AFC Wimbledon (League Two) and Millwall (Championship), but… yeah, they were not impressed at all. Fair enough. 😅

Spoiler

2.thumb.jpg.b370632b7895b2fe49139b90f7a37630.jpg1.thumb.jpg.40e0c085ac60530c8adf0f051483565e.jpg

And Board gave me a Memo. LOL.

Then in March 2027, Bromley — sitting 11th in League Two — suddenly offered me the manager job immediately. They didn’t want to wait until next season. Eight games left, eight-point gap to the play-off zone. Mathematically possible, but the squad morale was abysmal.

6.thumb.jpg.1d5f908f38af17fe153a4228e313493a.jpg

And they were sit on 11th League Two.

5.thumb.jpg.851b2b31aebd5b468c1eae874a3dfe01.jpg

Meanwhile, my season with Dag & Red was pure joy:

·        12 points lead in the league,

·        Promotion almost guaranteed,

·        We are in FA Trophy Semi Final.

Spoiler

7.thumb.jpg.5530be32d6d050bfda425b02488ebd8a.jpg

League position when i left Dag & Red.

8.thumb.jpg.bcbb32ec51554e189ba37a3d17248c0d.jpg

And then… I accepted Bromley’s offer.

 10.thumb.jpg.36b8d994d96426f3a1fbac347248aa8b.jpg

After looking at the squad, I instantly understood why they called me so urgently.
So many strikers, but no reliable midfielders or wingers.
Chasing the play-offs with this squad felt like trying to play tiki-taka with Tony Pulis’ Stoke.
😭

I started regretting the move almost immediately.

Up until GW44, we still had a chance to reach the promotion zone. But those two early defeats made the climb so much harder. In the end, Bromley finished 12th in League Two.

11.thumb.jpg.622dc86f607e690f5b83dd4db1593985.jpg

Here’s my record at Bromley: 8 matches — 4 wins, 1 draw, 3 losses.

12.thumb.jpg.d79780263cc1b815c6bbbcc0fea2b65d.jpg

So yeah… Season 2 was a big lesson.
I let myself down by leaving Dag & Red — throwing away two possible trophies — only to take over a team with a dozen problems.

But hey, that’s football. And FM loves pain. 😂

We move forward to Season 3!
My target: build a proper Bromley squad and push for promotion to League One — while keeping an eye out for opportunities in League One or maybe even the Championship.

Carroll stiil reliable for Non-League, spam crossing on him, the rest is history. Lol.
At 2nd season, i didnt using Carroll as main striker, he just got on pitch when we're down. Classic tactic. Lol.

SEASON 3: LET’S GO BROMLEY!

During the summer, I looked for London clubs that sacked their managers — but none of them offered me the job. So… League Two it is! My target this season: get promoted with Bromley.

At the end of October 2027, I applied for the Charlton job. They were a League One side, sitting at the top of the table — perfect for climbing to the Championship sooner than expected, and it would’ve looked great on my CV. I was optimistic… but they decided to hire Karl Andersen instead.
So yeah, focus back to Bromley.
😅

Charlton were league leader.

1.thumb.jpg.69d0a0c21b75914f0751bed1b9fbb671.jpg

In December, QPR (struggling in the Championship) also sacked their manager. I applied for that job too. And as expected… I wasn’t the one they were looking for. ☹️

Spoiler

3.thumb.jpg.de3d53403f8388362f1fc94e18618c4a.jpg

Anyway, here’s my half-season journey with Bromley. We led the league comfortably, and the “smell of promotion” was everywhere — and very strong. Lol.

Spoiler

4.thumb.jpg.a6f92d173c9b9fb1de077f80e3cdeea3.jpg

And yes, we finished the season as League Two champions!

6.thumb.jpg.3e0bcc72af5b62f24deffe0ef65a9ec5.jpg

After securing my second silverware, I also won Manager of the Season, and my reputation finally upgraded to Local — previously it was Obscure.
Progress is progress.

7.thumb.jpg.4554cece4e0453f16e4a25a43990e369.jpg

This was my transfer recap:

9.thumb.jpg.d7996a7651e9c4b3f9c49ffa75b4f203.jpg

10.thumb.jpg.c98eed3c7e368e7b428273db542389e9.jpg

-        Olly Sanderson — got him for free from Fulham and he became my top scorer. Signing of the season!

-        Jack Fletcher & Kenzie Stretton — free transfers, became my main midfield pairing.

-        Jacob Mendy & Raekwan Nelson — solid additions at LB and winger.

-        The only fee we paid was for a potential regen: John Edwards (18) from Greenock Morton.

-        I was forced to sell Jemiah Umolo — our best striker before Sanderson arrived — because his contract was expiring in the summer. Getting £1M from Huddersfield with six months left wasn’t bad at all.

-        Joe Rye, our third-choice CB, got a “too-good-to-be-true” offer from Blackpool, so he left.

And this was my player performance statistic:

11.thumb.jpg.1514fa9bad0b8d88230b0138ff75a523.jpg

-        Sanderson — top scorer of the team AND the league! What a player.

12.thumb.jpg.01f45ae0ecb9a226b3ae56a3ad964d5d.jpg13.thumb.jpg.16854ce20389b0ba1e2e0482361a8409.jpg

-        Mitch Pinnock and loanee Elliot Myles were our main wingers, contributing plenty of goals and assists.

-        Jack Fletcher — our playmaker — recorded 18 goal&assist contributions.

Yeah, I think I need to win as much silverware as possible to build my reputation quickly and (hopefully) become a Premier League manager ASAP.

See you in fourth season!

SEASON 4: I THINK I’M BECOMING A BROMLEY LEGEND

It’s the fourth season and we’re now in League One. I applied for the Millwall job (Championship), but they hired someone else.
So, I continued my journey with Bromley. I don’t know if I can actually complete this challenge, but hey — we try our best!

Spoiler

1.thumb.jpg.215109712a4dcce43d0e4fd135f41642.jpg

After finishing last season as League Two champions, my target this year was simple: get promoted again. We made several transfers. Here are the important ones (sorry, forgot to screenshot again 😅😞

-        I looked for a new goalie, but couldn’t find anyone who fit my budget — not even on loan. So I continued using Boyce-Clarke as our main goalkeeper. Even midway through the season, when I had the chance to sign Dean Henderson for free, the signing-on fee instantly killed the dream. Sigh!

2.thumb.jpg.5e4166c262de6a971cf1c0f4e60a087a.jpg

-        Free transfers to strengthen the squad: Joel Ndala and Raphael Borges Rodrigues for the wings. Bamo Meïté at center-back and Lewis Richards at left-back — both solid additions for League One level.

-        And I also loaned Taylor Whitingham from Bournemouth as backup for Sanderson.

We started the season strongly and became serious contenders for promotion. Even though we were knocked out early from the EFL Trophy, we ended the year top of the league.

Spoiler

4.thumb.jpg.5fca5ad133736b9868050e1494c3a21e.jpg

In mid-March, both of our left-backs (Richards and Mendy) got injured. So I had to bring in a free agent LB, because we were fighting for promotion and couldn’t afford to drop points.

And finally, we finished League One as champions! Fyuuh!

7.thumb.jpg.483541af78a72d6f7b008001bec62462.jpg

I won Manager of the Season again, and my reputation increased to Regional.

PLAYER STATS.

11.thumb.jpg.4b708fde258f8ba3ba830e4b0c1690bd.jpg

-        Sanderson wasn’t as good as last season — he scored less than 20 goals — but our loanee, Whitingham, scored 18. At least our strikers combined for 37 goals. Lol.

-        Ndala had a great season too: 13 goals and 12 assists.

But honestly, I feel like several players just aren’t Championship level, even League One. Players like Sanderson, Fletcher, and Stretton — who were amazing last season — were pretty average this year.

So yeah, next season we’re in the Championship! Still a long journey to complete this challenge.

Maybe next season a Premier League club will give me an offer?
I hope so.
🤞

See you in Season 5!

SEASON 5: HEADING TO PREMIER LEAGUE?

Okay, fifth season — and I’m still managing Bromley. I love Bromley; we’ve been together since League Two until now. But I want to finish this challenge ASAP… meanwhile the board is slightly stingy. Lol.

In the Championship, the board gave me around £20 million for transfers and a very tight wage budget — I couldn’t offer more than £10k/week to any player.

But then I found a hidden gem: a Non-League player named Will Vardy. I desperately needed a right-back, found him, and… bingo! His current ability is still raw, but the potential is bright. Got him for around £200k.

Spoiler

1.thumb.jpg.ecc756d6c9702b4bacdbab711faac1e6.jpg

I knew my current squad couldn’t compete in the Championship, so I needed an overhaul — but the budget was, well… limited.

Here’s what I did:

·        Signed Nathan Baxter (GK) on a Bosman.

·        Signed John Patrick, a dynamic midfielder, also on a Bosman.

·        Brought in Kwame Poku and Romaine Sutton to strengthen the attack.

·        And I somehow managed to sign Justin Kluivert for free — after several attempts to match his wage demands.

·        Loaned Whitingham from Bournemouth again (back-to-back loan).

·        Loaned Amani Pattenden, a potential LB from Brighton.

2.thumb.jpg.34ccd65100c7ef4eb2e230b24aa360d3.jpg

4.thumb.jpg.4241c90152f113bf3cd9ce6e01fc6963.jpg

At the end of the year checkpoint, we were sitting 4th. Not bad at all. We got some ugly wins, but hey — a win is a win. We were looking good for a play-off fight.

Spoiler

5.thumb.jpg.41b33d0080d190e866ccb7a5548a4d07.jpg

January and February were our toughest period; we struggled a bit but still stayed inside the play-off zone.

Then in early April, while we were 4th and pushing for the play-offs, Crystal Palace sacked their manager. Without any hesitation, I applied. And guess what — they offered me the job.

situation when Palace offered me job.

6.thumb.jpg.cff633276025f178d170548f156fc28f.jpg
Unlike the Dag & Red situation — which was full of hesitation — this time I accepted immediately. Lol. But, it was mixed feeling. Maybe, someday i will go-back to Bromley as my last dance. 😎

And yes… we’re in the Premier League! Finally!

8.thumb.jpg.6b841f14fc8e7ce5a270f175ea86902c.jpg

When I arrived at Palace, they were sitting 11th, with six matches remaining. Exactly the same situation as when I joined Bromley before — same position, same number of matches left. I hoped we could push for a European spot and play in Europe next season.

9.thumb.jpg.b455ea9fc6a22c0d71b58a91e1f81d3c.jpg

Six matches later, I only managed 1 win, 4 draws, and 1 loss. We finished 12th.

Spoiler

10.thumb.jpg.c68f1498d56d33564faa2972e1507117.jpg

Exactly like my first season at Bromley.

One thing I learned about myself:
I am not the guy who can save your team mid-season. Lol.

11.thumb.jpg.c991de6321337bd3457e23e4aaa53416.jpg

Even though we failed to qualify for Europe, I’m excited to manage Palace next season. Players like Wharton, Deveny, Pino, Nketiah, and the old-guy Mateta are still here (sorry again, i forgot to screenshoot Palace squad list when i took them over 😭). And key players I’ll rely on next season include:

·        Senne Lammens (GK),

·        Davinchi (LB),

·        Alexsandro Ribeiro and Jack Greves as center back pairing,

·        Thirty-two-years-old, Joey Veerman as midfielder,

·        Christianus Uche in attack.

Next season, I’ll be looking for a new right-back, wingers, and attackers.

I believe next season will be fun.
See you in Season 6!

yess, but the target is win PL with six different team. I think i should go to win PL ASAP. Maybe to win PL and UCL need two until four season. So i need around 12-15 season to complete the challenge.

If i stay with Bromley, maybe need two or three seasons to win Premier League. Lol.

I have idea to comeback to Bromley someday and bring Premier League trophy there. Lol.

SEASON 6 part 1: PREMIER LEAGUE, HERE WE GO!

After five seasons playing this challenge, we finally arrived in the Premier League. Whoaah!

Transfer Window

We started the season by strengthening the squad. Palace’s squad wasn’t bad actually, but I want to qualify for the UCL — or even win the Premier League — as soon as possible. And the board gave me a budget of around £100 million.

After last season ended, I searched for a right winger. I found a player named Angelo from a Saudi club. His value was only £20 million and his attributes fit what I needed. So he became my first signing at Palace.

1.thumb.jpg.5d5fa6621281b7cc04f1348d9d12c339.jpg

A few weeks after signing Angelo, I discovered a real talent named Martin Lanzini from River Plate. My scout suggested we could get him for around £30 million, but I decided to delay it until the end of the transfer window if I still had enough budget.

2.thumb.jpg.3faa51dce2740844e881927d36e0f79d.jpg

Instead of signing Lanzini, I went for Antonio Nusa — a right-footed LM priced at around £20 million. So I signed him instead.
A few weeks later… Lanzini went to Spurs. Sigh.

3.thumb.jpg.1bc58910b23a945830162b2a08c4aa3b.jpg

I also signed Austrian right-back Nikolas Veratschnig, and Icelandic left-back Egill Arnarsson as backup for Davinchi. My tactic needs an anchor or ball-winner, so I signed Junior Mwanga from a French club.

I originally didn’t plan to sign a striker, because I wanted to use Nketiah and Uche this season. But then I got the chance to sign Liam Delap for only £17 million! After four attempts negotiating his contract — yes, his wage demand was too high — I finally signed him. Big upgrade!
So I loaned out Nketiah to Boro with a buy-out clause.

4.thumb.jpg.0347b03950afba31415d6f44088ea62f.jpg

Here’s my squad depth:

GK: Senne Lammens, Luis Malagon, Owen Goodman
CB: Alexsandro Ribeiro, Jacob Greaves, Jayde Canvot, Alfie Gilchrist
RB: Nikolas Veratschnig, Danny Imray
LB: Davinchi, Egill Arnarsson
DM: Junior Mwanga
MC: Adam Wharton, Justin Devenny, Joey Veerman, Eljif Elmas, Hindolo Mustapha
AMR: Angelo, Yeremy Pino, Joel Drakes-Thomas
AML: Antonio Nusa, Kadan Young
ST: Liam Delap, Christianus Uche (trained as ST), Jean-Philippe Mateta.

First Half of the Season

In the opening game, an Angelo brace helped us beat Chelsea 2–1. And surprisingly, we started the season really strong. Palace went on a winning streak from late August until November, before Man Utd finally stopped us. We even beat Arsenal — the defending Premier League champions — at their place.

5.thumb.jpg.db26558c2ddd45b491f07eef17a6242c.jpg

Unfortunately, in early October, Nusa was sidelined for six months. Ugh…

6.thumb.jpg.7753a50948847421ee94d057e995ce09.jpg

Just intermezzo, on Carabao Cup, I’ve faced my old club, Bromley. After hard-fought match, I beat them 1-0. And in Carabao itself, we stopped at Quarter Final by Liverpool.

7.thumb.jpg.c4600b9cf67e6af39ceab8b8993dbfd7.jpg

By the end of the year, we were leading the league by 1 point ahead of Arsenal. Arsenal and Chelsea were clearly our serious contenders for the title.

8.thumb.jpg.9cafc2b0ac14d93fb48f837eacc190bc.jpg

So, I’ll continue the second half of the season in the next post!
See you!

SEASON 6 part 2: FINALLY!

Okay, here’s the continuation of my Crystal Palace story.

After leading the league at the end of the year, the title race was still a three-horse race between Arsenal, Chelsea, and us.

1.thumb.jpg.896c7853ca795223b8a305dfaf392f3e.jpg
In March, Wharton told me he wanted to leave Palace. It surprised me, because I wanted him to be the leader of my midfield. But I accepted it — just to keep the dressing room harmony.

Spoiler

2.thumb.jpg.cbabe3fab65f5fab168331e7434ec0b2.jpg

By the end of March, Palace, Arsenal, and Chelsea were still battling for the title. Arsenal and Palace were level on points.

Spoiler

3.thumb.jpg.b43a14ea511d1e554b2d15557471c587.jpg

Matchweek 37 was Palace vs Arsenal. Before the match, both teams had the same points. In the final gameweek, Palace would meet relegation-strugglers Tottenham, while Arsenal would face Sunderland. On paper, even though Spurs were struggling, facing a traditional “big six” team is never easy. So the match against Arsenal basically became our title decider match.

Spoiler

5.thumb.jpg.db6bfc98ba6b67213de5ce0b19461e6e.jpg

Angelo and Rice's own goal put we ahead.

4.thumb.jpg.ad54e50f08a07b2428507072e81381cd.jpg

I set the team cautiously with a balanced mentality to avoid getting hit on the counter, because Arsenal had rapid attackers. And we finished the match 2–0! Yes!

Going into the final day, we were three points ahead of Arsenal. Mathematically, Arsenal could still win the league, but they needed a huge goal difference swing — and they had to hope Spurs (yes, the irony) would smash us with a big margin.

In the last game, Arsenal won 2–0 against Sunderland, and we drew with Spurs. So the league title was ours! Finally!

6.thumb.jpg.e7925fec93f62b210533278584cbac18.jpg

7.thumb.jpg.1f1052672e143316423efd1b01b22fcc.jpg

8.thumb.jpg.451a61955e39b9bacd468c54b0656303.jpg
And we also sent Spurs to the Championship next season. Lol!

FA Cup

Meanwhile in the FA Cup, we completed the tournament as the champions. In the final, Palace beat Aston Villa 2–1.

9.thumb.jpg.6d352a052dfeb3141cb295489e976a5e.jpg
To be honest, we got some luck in this cup run — before the final, we never faced a Premier League team. Even in the semifinal, we met Reading, a League One side.

End Season Awards

Liam Delap won the Golden Boot with 31 league goals. He also won Players’ Player of the Year, Northwest Player of the Season, and was included in the Team of the Season.

12.thumb.jpg.0b2a7d2b636f91ca2ff977993e38dfff.jpg
Absolutely a bargain signing — only seventeen million pounds!

I won the Manager of the Season Award. As expected!

13.thumb.jpg.1bb5d63562a02f1977b34d40c954e612.jpg

And my reputation upgraded to National.

Player Stats

15.thumb.jpg.b693f1dd88695643e2f8bdee2135f972.jpg

Liam Delap was definitely our Player of the Season: 34 goals and 5 assists..

Joey Veerman surprisingly became our second-top scorer (11 goals) and top assister (12 assists). He also made the Team of the Season alongside Delap.

Spoiler

16.thumb.jpg.76eefd5826cdfa17bd46a77884b0fbfb.jpg

Our new signing Angelo, despite inconsistency, still managed to score 9 goals.

Yes, finally in the sixth season I started checking off the challenge milestones. Still a long way to go!

Next season, Palace will be playing in the UCL, and I hope I can win it — then move to another London club.

See you next season!

SEASON 7 part 1: FIGHTING AGAINST FINANCIAL FAIR PLAY

Okay, I’m heading into the seventh season of my journey. Last season I finally checked my first challenge milestone. I have another chance this season—if I win the UCL. Never easy, of course.

Before getting into transfers, I want to show you my best youth intake from last season: Zech Billington, a striker.

1.thumb.jpg.bfc7466de702e7e2bcb1b6169540b393.jpg

After Boro triggered Nketiah’s buyout clause and Mateta retired, my striker depth was down to only Delap and Uche. Billington’s attributes looked good enough as a PL backup striker, so I decided not to sign any new striker this window.

And Delap –Billington’s mentor, was include to World XI.

Spoiler

1b.thumb.jpg.b8e4591eeb2f72012a3de1230c3441e5.jpg

Transfer Window

Spurs were relegated, and I initially targeted Martin Lanzini, but Spurs refused to sell him. However, my scout reported that they had listed Luca Williams-Barnet. I immediately signed him for only £20M!
He’s an AMC with a natural playmaker role, but I planned to retrain him as a LW to compete with Antonio Nusa.

2.thumb.jpg.18041cb2fa1120c9829a51a9ba510e79.jpg

This season, I decided to tweak my tactic—especially the DM role. Last season I used an Anchor, which is why I brought in Junior Mwanga. But this season, I want more control, so I switched the DM to a Roaming Playmaker. For that, I signed Kenneth Eichhorn from Southampton for £34M. His attributes were perfect for the role.

3.thumb.jpg.90c57724d294acbdabae67d39964e3ee.jpg

Meanwhile, Man Utd wanted Wharton. I dragged the negotiation until they met the release clause, and they accepted it. But somehow, a few days later they submitted a lower bid and the deal collapsed. Lucky me.

Spoiler

3b.thumb.jpg.68af009d80c7744969299a5d57ce436b.jpg

After signing Williams-Barnet, Eichhorn and Wouter Goes for center back (total around £80mio), plus a few minor transfers—and with Wharton’s sale falling through—I suddenly needed to raise £33M before the end of the season. That’s when I realized FMM26 now has Financial Fair Play rules. Great…

4.thumb.jpg.ef18ff466b57b63d8baaa63bbac8af24.jpg

Offers started coming in: £31M from Shanghai Shenhua for Lammens, and £5.5M for Owen Goodman. Both were goalkeepers, and I accepted the bids. But that meant I only had one goalie, so I had to bring in two new keepers before the league started.

Spoiler

5.thumb.jpg.65d18fd07668c3c630ccc8f81be799e1.jpg

After some quick scout searches, I decided to sign Yehven Diouf (30 years old) from Nantes for £19M (yeah, I know—no wonderkid, because I don’t think I’ll stay long at Palace lol). I also signed Woody Williamson from Ipswich.

Juventus came with £37.5M for Junior Mwanga, and since I no longer needed an anchor, I accepted the offer.

Spoiler

After the incoming and outgoing transfers, our Financial Regulatory Status was fully compliant.

 7.thumb.jpg.e331e2dcc1e42730e10b18a63fda30ab.jpg

First Half of Season: Premier League

After losing to Arsenal in the Community Shield, we still started the league strongly. We won our first seven league games, including a win against Arsenal, before Chelsea stopped us with a 1–1 draw at Stamford Bridge.

Even after the strong start, our wins were narrow. I tried tweaking tactics to find solutions, but we still struggled to score more than two goals per game. Even so, we kept winning.
By the end of the year, we were top of the league, one point ahead of Man City.

11.thumb.jpg.a12ed359c72734fdc5d58bc41bd1eb0f.jpg

In the Carabao Cup, we were eliminated in the quarterfinals again, this time by West Brom on penalties.

Champions League Campaign.

This was my Champions League debut.

In our first two matches, we only collected one point: a draw against Nantes at home and a 1–2 loss to Sporting away.

Matchday 3 was wild—we beat Bayern Munich 3–2 at Selhurst Park. After leading 3–0 at halftime, Bayern scored twice in the second half. Luckily, we held on until full time.

But matchday 4 was pain: a 0–1 loss to Roma.
Champions League is hard, yes?

On matchdays 5 and 6, we tried to turn things around, beating Haifa 5–1 and Qarabag 3–0.

In the January fixtures, we drew 1–1 against PSG and won 2–0 against Galatasaray at home.
We finished the league phase in 13th place, which means we qualified for the play-offs.

I’ll continue the second half of the season in the next update.
See you!

What's your tactic?

4-3-3 with 1 DM as RPM, and others midfielder were Box to Box.

I used FR and FL as IF and striker as DLP.

The backfour were wingback at flanks and CD.

Mentality was Attacking or Balanced (depends on opponent and what team that i used).

SEASON 7 part 2: HEARTBREAK ENDING

League and Domestic Cup Campaign

Manchester City were our main rivals for the title this season, until we faced them in gameweek 30. Before the match, we were three points ahead of City. If we won this, our title hopes would be even brighter.

Spoiler

1.thumb.jpg.9128cf4a3df6080a857ae3e23d1b7325.jpg

And we finished the game at the Etihad Stadium with a 2–0 win! Delap and Nusa were the scorers.

Spoiler

2.thumb.jpg.f5bcbe9c9f76dce9afbe3fd8a31ae9c2.jpg

In gameweek 34, we clinched our second Premier League title in a row after beating Leicester 2–1. In the last four matches of the season, we collected only four points — one win, one draw, and one loss.
Even though we secured the title, our goal tally was lower than the other top-four teams, and our points total was also lower than last season.

3.thumb.jpg.00a4187806eae8007906ff9d3c6915c6.jpg

3a.thumb.jpg.3dfe307b45f417e0a577a317335f407a.jpg

Meanwhile, in FA Cup, we lose in Semi Final by Leicester. I did some rotatation, and ended conceded 4 goals. Lol.

3b.thumb.jpg.5a455066a8fa2578ff5bbf9839524730.jpg

European Campaign.

In the Play-off, we faced Nantes. We drew 1–1 away and won 2–1 at home, sending us into the second round against Barcelona — my first real test!
After holding them at Camp Nou, two goals from Eichhorn and Deveny brought us into the quarter-final!

Spoiler

In the quarter-final, we met another European giant, Bayern Munich. We beat them 3–2 on aggregate and advanced to the semi-final.
In the semi-final, Benfica beat us 1–0 at their place, but in the second leg we played very offensively, turning it around with a 2–0 win and sending us to the Final against Real Madrid.

Spoiler

8.thumb.jpg.fc20d7286b5edeba90c9ba7f85faee44.jpg

Okay, if I win this, I will resign immediately. But one week before the final, Wharton got injured. Sigh.

Spoiler

9.thumb.jpg.488b04915300dc03704d4129a1a6c2ab.jpg

We started very well. Mustapha, who replaced Wharton, gave us the lead before Arda Güler equalised. In the second half, Liam Delap’s header put us ahead again, before Yeremy Pino did something foolish and gave Real a penalty.
We finished the match 2–2 and went to penalties.
11.thumb.jpg.8e7136e0bfe63b98e094a5f6bbecc885.jpg

And you know what? Yeremy Pino missed his penalty, all the Real players scored theirs, and we lost in the final. A total heartbreak.
I immediately put Pino on the transfer list — he made me furious!

 10.thumb.jpg.fb3e344d3bcde4b2ba96750a4d542849.jpg

End Season Award & Stats

Liam Delap was our top scorer again, but his tally wasn’t as high as last season — only 27 goals despite more appearances.
Our starboy Zech Billington started scoring double digits this season.
Antonio Nusa, who had been injured for most of last season, showed what he was capable of — 13 goals and 3 assists.
Justin Deveny also produced strong goal and assist numbers.
Our new signing, Williams-Barnett, wasn’t bad with 17 goal contributions.
However, our right-wingers didn’t contribute much — Pino and Angelo weren’t good enough. So I’ll be looking for a new right winger next season.

14.thumb.jpg.137d28269d318ae5f56b33a3d4290a70.jpg

I also won Manager of the Year again. No surprise at all. Lol.

Before I end the season, I want to show you our next starboy, German Ancheta. He wasn’t from our youth intake — I bought him for 1.5 million at the start of the season and sent him on loan to Hibernian. He completed his loan and showed remarkable progress. I think he’ll be part of the first team next season!

Spoiler

17.thumb.jpg.34fc1584fdbf6c56d5419a1e1138ea48.jpg

Okay, next season will be my last at Palace. If I win the UCL, my job here is done. But if I fail, I’ll look to win it with another club.

See you in Season Eight!

SEASON 8: LAST SEASON AT PALACE

I had already decided that this season would be my last at Palace. My aim was to resign with a UCL trophy and finish my mission here.

Tranfers Window

Last season, our right wingers didn’t contribute as much as the opposite side. So I went for Lennart Karl — who was playing for Leicester — to strengthen our right-wing depth, and I placed Yeremy Pino on the transfer list.

Spoiler

1.thumb.jpg.584c44f50c764cc0dd290e089bec763a.jpg

Elmas’ contract had expired and Veerman was aging, so I bid £24.5 million for Thiago Helguera to replace them, and I promoted some youth players as backups.

Spoiler

2.thumb.jpg.93bb7949a8928fd6e1cf57e3d789dedb.jpg

On the last day of the transfer window, Chelsea — who were desperate for a centre-back — bid £45.5 million for 33-year-old Alexsandro Ribeiro. Without hesitation, I accepted the offer because I already had two potential centre-backs ready to replace him.

Spoiler

3.thumb.jpg.787b49c2663572c98eb2f5cfe71f1afd.jpg

In January, Yeremy Pino received an offer from a Spanish club — I forgot which one — and I replaced him with Julio Enciso just to maintain depth for the UCL campaign.

Domestic League & Cup

Even though my focus was on the UCL, by the end of the year Palace were comfortably leading the league, eight points clear of Man City.
In April, we picked up some poor results that affected our title chase, including a wild 5–5 draw against Brighton.

Spoiler

8.thumb.jpg.c4f668878d05c4cee7b7a4a6619ca5df.jpg

Eventually, we secured our third Premier League title in a row in gameweek 36 after a 6–2 win over Liverpool.

9b.thumb.jpg.c7d1c1aa8ab0bf90869354302c8dd93e.jpg

Meanwhile, in the other domestic competitions, the fans were jubilant after we beat Arsenal in the Carabao Cup Final — my first League Cup trophy.
In the FA Cup, we were knocked out early in the Fifth Round, but that was fine.

10.thumb.jpg.fab883c29ccd93dfa09cb2e59c39ac35.jpg

Champions League Campaign

After last season’s heartbreaking finish, I went all out to win the competition.
In the league stage, we secured direct qualification to the Last 16 after finishing 2nd behind Arsenal.

11.thumb.jpg.d0a29955d58f89ef7301188b063a25f6.jpg

In the Round of 16, we faced Hoffenheim and comfortably won 9–3 on aggregate.
In the quarter-final, we had a rematch of last season’s final — against Real Madrid. I was nervous, but a 2–0 win at home sent us through to the semis.

Spoiler

12.thumb.jpg.9fc774f3393bd6e938811d877fc4f7af.jpg

In the semi-final, we met Galatasaray — the Turkish league was ranked 4th in my save, which was cool — and we won 1–0 away and 5–2 at home.
And then… the final. Here we go again!

We faced another Spanish giant, Barcelona.
After going behind in the 10th minute, we completed the comeback thanks to Williams-Barnett’s equaliser before half-time and Zech Billington’s winning goal in the second half.

13.thumb.jpg.ef3a67afa98be5f0155a54d0ab2f4ce1.jpg

Finally, I completed my mission at Palace after two incredible seasons!

Individual Award and Player Stats

Unlike last season, when we struggled to win by more than two goals, this season we did it for fun.
Delap scored 38 goals and 9 assists.
Our starboy, Zech Billington — who scored the UCL winning goal — finished with 29 goals and 13 assists. He’s going to be a monster next season!
Antonio Nusa also succeeded with 21 goals and 13 assists.
Williams-Barnett and Karl also delivered strong numbers and performances.

14.thumb.jpg.f7620ee522ec8abd9c3f6e15ee89728e.jpg

Delap finished the league as the top scorer, while Billington — his backup — finished 5th with 16 goals.
Delap also won Player of the Year, while Billington won UCL Young Player of the Season.

15.thumb.jpg.dd3868fe6644a68f9cda1725a1d00fb6.jpg

Okay, I have finally completed my mission at Palace. And the before the end of season, board decided to build new stadium for Palace. Cool!

SEASON 9: NEW JOURNEY!

After resigning from Palace, I was looking for a new challenge. My aim was to join another Premier League club because I didn’t want to stay too long at one team — my “London challenge” difficulty was still at 2/10 thicked. A long way to go.

Before continuing the story, here’s an update on London clubs after the 2032/2033 season:

·        Premier League: Arsenal, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Fulham, Tottenham, West Ham.

·        Championship: Brentford, Millwall, QPR.

·        League One: Charlton, Leyton Orient, Bromley –yes, they were relegated last season.

·        League Two: AFC Wimbledon, Barnet, Dag & Red –yep, they still there.

·        National League: Sutton Utd.

·        National League South: Hampton & Richmond.

·        Unidentified: Wealdstone, Enfield Town, Hornchurch –just relegated from NLS.

Okay, back to the story…

For three months, no Premier League club had a vacant managerial position. Until December — Spurs were bottom of the league and sacked Edin Terzić. I applied, and they offered me the job.

1.thumb.jpg.11cac1f2a4cfdb72eec01fd9f4f91811.jpg

2.thumb.jpg.593e257a4d4fe9fd2d2265019a0ec1d7.jpg

So, we move from South to North London. Here we go!
Spurs only had nine points from 15 games. Yes, they had just been promoted the season before. Lol.

 4.thumb.jpg.21f01ca256474a6b9ab58d84c2fcda3f.jpg

Squad Review

There was one familiar face in the current squad — Amani Pattenden, who I once loaned during my Bromley era. And finally, I got the chance to manage the player I admired the most in this save: Martin Lanzini. I had been following him since he was at River Plate.

Spoiler

5.thumb.jpg.739aa8ca06dbcd265dfbc644ac115e4b.jpg

I've managed him in Bromley.

6.thumb.jpg.a92c84c8f71f0e59cfb00c747a793f01.jpg

His attributes was monster!

Overall, Spurs’ squad wasn’t bad. They had decent players in every department, so I felt there was no need for a full overhaul. I just needed to fix the mentality and sign a midfielder in January to improve squad depth.
When I took over, Spurs had only scored 11 league goals — the lowest in the league — and their top scorer was Lanzini with just six goals.

Spoiler

7.thumb.jpg.be016a9dd36e384c15b30371ab3f99e7.jpg

8.thumb.jpg.693fdb620375dbb6667e274f633b4f5f.jpg

9.thumb.jpg.5a7a93151f5b06c2d0e191f10b429ed7.jpg

Based on my coaches’ reports, these were the key players I liked: Martin Lanzini (AMR), Kaide Willets (AMC), Jun’ai Byfield (DC), Mohamed Kader Meite (ST), and Nico O’Reilly (LB/MC).

In the January window, I signed Liyon Sarteh --regen player, a midfielder, because nobody in the squad was qualified to play DM. Noah Sadiki was the only option, but he was injured long-term.

League Campaign

Spurs had already been knocked out of the League Cup, so the only competitions left were the Premier League and FA Cup. My targets were to qualify for European competition and win the FA Cup.

At the end of January — 45 days after taking over — Spurs climbed to 13th place, only four points away from the European spots.

Spoiler

10.thumb.jpg.80f7798e5b7e59dee57e447492ba6575.jpg

I also beat Arsenal 2–1 at the Emirates Stadium in my first North London Derby!

Spoiler

11.thumb.jpg.9611f920949c1de1bb91f752d077db55.jpg

By the end of March, we were 6th and had a real chance to qualify for Europe. The gap to the UCL spots was 10 points — mathematically possible, but realistically finishing 5th or 6th was good enough.

Spoiler

12.thumb.jpg.fa46f4bae54d4474765acd6169574f47.jpg

I also visited Palace’s new stadium on an away day, and we shared the points there. Palace were a really good side.

Spoiler

13.thumb.jpg.fe343cb15703f4852f9d7a05b49dd744.jpg

In the end, we finished 5th, and — even better — above our main rival, Arsenal. That meant no St. Totteringham’s Day this season. Lol!
We also qualified for the UCL next season — beyond my expectations!

14.thumb.jpg.53977465a1a9425f9bf072fdf8874a42.jpg

In the FA Cup, we had a strong chance because in the semi-final we faced Preston, who were struggling at the bottom of the league. But unexpectedly, we lost 0–2.

Here were my results since took over

17.thumb.jpg.f1eb8adefe3a07a02408a3f4259f76c4.jpg

Player Stats and Awards

Mohamed Kader Meite was our top scorer — and also finished as the Premier League’s runner-up top scorer. When I arrived, he had only scored four goals, which means he scored 19 goals in half a season. Not bad at all!

Spoiler

19.thumb.jpg.19eebe35a911a3c8786bd59ad9fdff9c.jpg

Lanzini — my boy — was our second top scorer and was included in the PL Team of the Year.
Mathys Tel came third, but unfortunately he refused to extend his contract and will leave on a free next month.

18.thumb.jpg.933f49937402cfb19a942ad650c50c5f.jpg

I won Manager of the Year (again!). It surprised me a little since we only finished 5th.

Okay, I didn’t win anything this season, but I can clearly see that next season we have a real chance. The squad is good — we just need to strengthen a few areas, and I believe next year we’ll be cooking!

See you in Season 10!

This is a really good read and you're going well. Hopefully in the next season or two you can tick off another PL and UCL with Spurs and still have loads of seasons left for the last four clubs.

My friend, can you share with me the tactics you've been using since the first season? Please add a screenshot

hahaha, okay.

i used this tactic since my second season at Palace, if you read my stories since beginning, i just change role of midfielder and i used it until now.

Spoiler

6163455044347431755.thumb.jpg.016e5bc777036d26fdae7129e0a428e5.jpg

this tactic created by my own, but i read some master tactic this forum to tweaked it.

the mentality is Balanced or Attacking if you face weak opposition, or if you have good squad. At my time at Spurs, i used Attacking mentality.

They key of the tactic is the midfielders. I used RPM in DM, creativity, good tackling and agression is key attributes.

And the others are BBM, but two different type player. I used player who good at playmaking on right side and on left side i used BBM type player. But, good movement and stamina are must.

Two of my fullbacks are wingback, good crossing is plus point, because a WB with good crossing, he will bagged double digit assists as usual. And good stamina dan positioning is also key.

CB pairing must be good pace, aerial and positioning, because this tactic let you control the game, and if opponent launch counter attack, they can anticipated.

The two wingers are FL & FR, i was ever used as AMR or AML, but not good as FR and FL. Good dribbling and movement is must and must be pacey winger. FR must be left footed and vice-versa.

This is the key, i was ever read some posting in this forum, he suggest to used DLF. I tried it and it works.

6163455044347431757.thumb.jpg.133c5ed6e7e36c5e84fd73dc9dcccc3e.jpg

Defensive line is balance or high, depends on your players, especially your CB.

The tackle was normal, and if you get a red card, i just take my DM out, and play with two BBM, one of my fullback i set as FB and the others still WB, but if you want to retain your win, just put both as FB.

6163455044347431756.thumb.jpg.056de635c0dd9b60582fdf497650e635.jpg

when you're down, just thick the run at defence or through balls, depends or your midfielder. And i usually thick Look Overlap too. But, it was risk, sometimes i conceded by counter. Lol.

The set piece, especially from corner is key.

I used my set piece tactic at FMM 24. Launch the ball to near post, put your defender with good aerial on near post and your striker with good aerial and strenght to mark the keeper.

Liam Delap often scored from corner, because, his aerial was good.

The corner takers is used opposite foot, when corner on right used left footed player, and vice versa.

so sorry, i dont have any screenshoot my tactic when i was on lower league. But, i was never change formation, just tweak mentality and some instructions.

And i never test this tactic with non-Premier League team, because my tactic at Bromley was slightly different.

SEASON 10

Yep, even though we finished 5th last season, Spurs qualified for the UCL. And if I can win both the Premier League and the UCL this season, I can leave Spurs at the end of the season. But let’s see how the season goes.

Transfer Window

Mathys Tel left on a free, so I looked for a rotational forward. My scout suggested a Peruvian regen, Augusto La Torre — his attributes were good enough for a backup and his price was cheap, so I went for him.

Like I said before, I didn’t need to overhaul the squad. I only added one centre-back and one right-back to maintain depth. Around 85% of my squad stayed the same as last season.

And then my boy, Martin Lanzini, requested to leave. Of course I rejected his request — I need him desperately to win the UCL this season.

Domestic Campaign

We started the league strongly in attack, especially Mohamed Meite who scored for fun. But our defence was leaking badly.

our results at beginning of season. We could scored lot of goals but easy to conceded.

I ignored my scout’s report about needing a GK, because my keeper was good last season. And yes… I also sacked all the GK coaches and replaced them with attacking and fitness coaches. So our GK became awful. We could score three goals, but the opponents could score the same amount.

I did a quick scout and decided to sign Swedish goalkeeper Nils Ramming from RB Leipzig for 12M. He would join in January.

Until the end of the year, we battled with our main rival, Arsenal, in the title race.

After Ramming joined, our defence finally improved, and we ended up winning the league as champions!

And you know what? Arsenal finished the league at bottom half! Lol!

I also added another silverware by winning the Carabao Cup, beating my former club Crystal Palace in the final.

In the FA Cup, we lost to Palace in the semi-final — but that’s okay as long as I win the UCL. Lol!

European Campaign

Spurs finished the group stage in 3rd and qualified directly for the Last 16.

In the Last 16, we faced Benfica and won comfortably 7–3 on aggregate. In the Quarter-final, we beat Sturm Graz, and then Barcelona in the semi-final. Yes, we got a bit lucky with the draws before the semis — but a win is a win, right?

And in the final, we met… guess who? Yes, Real Madrid. I swear I had PTSD. Lol!

But a Dean Huijsen own goal brought us the UCL trophy!

Mohamed Kader Meite was even better than last season. The Frenchman scored 30 goals and 14 assists!

Augusto La Torre — who struggled earlier in the season — became our second top scorer alongside Martin Lanzini with 20 goals.

Xavi Simons — who will leave on a free next summer — produced great numbers and finished as our top assister.

Kaide Willets, our wonderkid, also had a strong season. He managed double digits in both goals and assists, won Young Player of the Season, and was included in the Team of the Season.

Finally, I completed my job at Spurs after 533 days. It was a very enjoyable time with the team, but I’ll be moving to another London club to continue my challenge.

See you in Season Eleven!
