Tactics RAV New 443 (2-2-3-1-2)

Hi guys. New version of the game arrived so i tried my old tactic (https://fmmvibe.com/forums/topic/47944-lfrf-4-1-2-1-2/) as it was one of the best for me for 3/4 years now. However, this years version is different. Inspired by Black Hawk, his attempts and persistence in creating good tactic, I decided to work on my own.

Hopefully it will work good for you. It is not as great as it used to be. Different engine, pressing from opponents, multiple failed passes etc. This one now is working for my Gladbach quite good.

What’s important!

1. CM works basically as RP so he needs creativity, dribbling and passing. Don’t ask my why, but it is how it is. Game roles works differently, players are playing against the roles - stick with CM as the central midfielder in midfield trio.

2. Your main attacking thread are wingers, or as you prefer, LF/RF. Currently one of my wingers has 15 goals in like 13 matches?

3. SS is not fixed role and position. Tried this also with PF, it worked. The movement with and without the ball was crucial for me, as with as high playing wingers, i prefer forward to be deeper and progress around the beginning of the box only when the ball is in the final third of the pitch. This gives a space for wingers to quickly cut inside. But PF is also good option as it presses harder and often plays as a poacher - so depends on you players qualities, you can work out your best solution for the central attacking player.

IT IS NOT PERFECT

Players are wasting a lot of opportunities BUT they have them. I hope that the lacks in shooting are the case, not tactic as it stands.

Give it a shoot, let me know how it works for you and be patient as it is not plug-and-play. Players need to learn how to play.

Very very good tactic.

Counter and fast passing tempo took it to another level for me!

Very well done sir - again!

Counter? Sorry I thought in the post was control? Did you try something different sir?

I tested the tactic as it is laid out in the first post. It's very good. After a while i decided to try using counter and fast passing which worked even better - for me. Both are good. It just depends on the team and scenario. You score a good amount of goals and don't concede many. What more could you ask for 😁

At 70th minute, who do we need to sub off? Looking at these, the 2 WB, 2 B2Bs and SS?

I do the same if I'm winning at around 60-65 minutes.

I tried almost same shape and roles in my tests.

The main point is you mentioned SS role and variation.

My tweak based on this formation.

1. SS or PF. SS to mark opposite DMC is necessary.

2. CM to dmc position, if opposite amc is a threat and can not be marked well.

In my Liverpool save, I put Ekitike as SS, Wirtz as BBM at left side.

Battered Man City away 3-0. More importantly look at their shots compared to ours. That's amazing.

5 games in. The draw was 2-2 against Man City at home which I was delighted with. I just checked the table and saw they're 18th in the league. I guess I should have gone for the win rather than parking the bus for the last 20 minutes 🤣

My best win so far out of all the tactics I've used.

He said he was using 4-4-3 but with counter instead of control. And fast passing

Yes. It's a career. I'm 31 league games in.

Assistant Manager chooses the match preparation.

I'm using the tactic at the top of the page but with counter instead of control. I used fast passing tempo for the first 10 games but results were better when I switched back to normal passing tempo with counter as my players aren't great.

So in short. Tactic at the top with counter.

How does this tactic compare to Battering Ram?

Love them both. They're the best 2 tactics I've used and couldn't choose between them.

Battering Ram I tried with Liverpool and was outstanding when I changed it to counter and fast tempo.

This tactic also worked better for me with counter and fast tempo, but was even better with just counter. Guessing the players weren't quite good enough to use fast tempo. That's just my theory though. Wtf do i know.

Also I'm using Brighton to test this tactic instead of Liverpool so I can't make a direct comparison.

I will say this has been so enjoyable as I usually just play as top teams. I'm really enjoying having to use players I've never used before and I have to really think about who to buy and sell etc.

I always have an A team for the league and a B team for the cups. This time my B team is crap so I went out of the cups early on against rubbish opposition. That being said my aim was a top 6 finish in the league believe it or not, so I'm very impressed.

Next year we'll be better equipped to fight for some of the cups as well as I've made a good amount of money. Just sold Baleba to Chelsea for 120M even though he was valued at around 70, and I only spent 22M to replace him. Hopefully next year with the transfer cash I'm saving, along with the added transfer funds from the board, we can improve the squad.

Finally it's great to see that players I initially thought would be pants, turn out to be vital for me scoring goals (like Gruda in the SS role with his 11 finishing). Mitoma has also been fantastic scoring 15 in 31 games.

Anyway I'll shut up now 😁

Yeah, I’m quite the opposite and always doing middle to bottom table teams. Rebuilding them back to the top. Signing players with similar nationalities to each position to recreate success . Example for Lazio last year I wanted to replicate players like Crespo so signing Argentinian striker.

Used a lot of tactics on this forum and really struggling with most of them. But this one and Battering Ram seem to be up there so far.

Knowing our luck we will find a good tactic to use and then a update will happen and have to start from scratch.

Do you just use assistant doing match prep or choose one for all matches ?

Yeah this career has definitely changed my thought process when it comes to who I play as from now on.

I let the assistant choose for each game.

I'm surprised with how many points the big clubs dropped.

Great results. Did you ever make any in game changes if you were losing?  Could you goals and assists stats for your IF’s and SS? Thanks

It depends on the situation. I started every game on counter but if I was playing at home against a team near the bottom of the table, and if it was one of those games where the minutes just fly up and nothing is happening, then I'd change to control after 30 minutes. If I get to half time, and still not much is happening in the game then I may go attacking. Certainly if the opposition are playing defensive, narrow and slow passing, then I'd go attacking, balanced width, and creative freedom expressive.

The times when I was only leading by 1 goal and it was close to the end of the game and the opposition goes all out attack - then I'd go slow passing, disciplined, time wasting etc.

80% of the time I wouldn't need to make any changes at all.
