Career Welcome to Chippenham - Bottom to Top

Always like to do one of these early into the game, before I get bored and just try sometime daft like 6000 goals.

This year its the turn of Chippenham. 

Sitting rooted to the bottom of National league South with a mere 8 points from 17 games they are my boys for this year.

Standard rules apply. 

No signings allowed.

Must win the champions league.

That was my intention. 

Wasn't working so had to change roles and set up a bit.

Formation stays the same

Half way through 1st season and we are sitting just inside the play off positions.

Had a very rocky start to the season.

Hence all the red lines but managed to play about with these up and we're firing now.

Got a decent 1 star rated striker from youth team who I've called ip straight away, he looks like he could be handy. 

Scored on his debut in the previous game, 6-3 demolition at home to Bath

Season 1

 

What a wild league!!

We somehow claw and scrape our way into the playoffs.

Torquay fell off massively, they were top for half the year.

So much drama in the playoffs.

2 injury time goals see up win the 1st game.

Then a disallowed 99th minute equaliser sees up through to the last game.

Honestly thought we'd get pumped in the final but a rare clean sheet sees us pick up the victory.

Overall that league was pure madness. So glad to be out of it.

You can see just by the goals scored and the goals conceded by the top 9 teams alone is absolutely crazy. Anyone can beat anyone.

Season 2 will be a real struggle i think. 

Brought through 4 players from the youth system and bleeding them in.

Sadly they were all rated at 1 star so not expecting great things. But you never know, seen some stars before that werent highly rated so everything crossed.

Season 2

What's worse than losing out on automatic promotion on goal difference?

Losing out in the playoff final at Wembley with the very last kick of the ball!!

Current tactics.

Should probably be noted that my 3 defenders and goal keeper are by far the worst players in my team.

luckily I've had 2 full backs with a hint of central defending through the youth system so have converted them.

Hopefully after a season they will be stronger.

Currently my 2 central mids are class. Cant see them being here for long.

got them tied down for another 2 seasons at least but they are bound for the big time.

Got my youth facilities and training upgraded this season so hoping for some better prospects

Season 3

Heading up to league football at the 2nd time of asking.

Very solid season. Decent cup run until 2nd place in the championship Ipswich knocked us out

So close yet so far.

Still on the hunt for a right sided IF and a SS but other than that got positions filled from the youth intake now.

Season 4

Back to back promotions.

Team is going from strength to strength.

Wont the Vertu trophy along the way but pretty poor showing in the rest of the cups

Win the division by the skin of our teeth.

Heading for the big time now

Season 6

Premiership here we come.

After a very poor start to the campaign had to change up the tactics a bit.

Tried about 10 variations of the bettering ram, some old some new, some worked, some didnt.

Finally set on one with 10 games left and we managed to claw our way up the league.

What a tight league it was. 

Going into the last game anyone as far down as 12 could have made the playoffs but we somehow managed to sneak in.

I assume on goals scored.

Not sure but I'll take it.

 

After beating Southampton on pens we survive Sunderland in a 7 goal thriller.

If we survive the Premiership I will be amazed.

That said never thought we'd make it this far but here we are.
