Hi mate, BBM role was added to dmc position in the 26.1.0 update.

I designed this tactics with two BBMs at dmc and named it "DulBooster".

Tactics Setup:

I’m finishing the first season with sporting cp and what I can tell is awesome (at least for this club). Believe it or not I lost 1-0 away against Real Madrid, I won 5-1 at home. Don’t struggle no more against Porto or Benfica.

I play with 2 teams, to keep the players fresh

I am glad this tactics works for you.

Nice man I see the Ai use this formation sometimes too have you got any track record with this tactic? 👌

I have not seen AI team used the same shape. Sorry, I do not plan to share any result, but I will explain more for the idea of this tactics.

Design Note:

1. How to make BBM at dmc move up?
Based on my test, BBM at dmcr/l will be conflicted with IF & IW at amr/l, but not with AP.and No conflict with IF at fr/l.
2. Why BWM at mcc?

BWM at mcc is import for this formation.
BWM will drop back when team is in possession, to pick the ball from two DCs. Not only in build up phase from own half, but also in opposite half.
BWM will also to support to cover opposite AMC if opponent play 4231.
[There is still risk to leave space for opponent AMC, if necessary, you can move back BWM to dmcc position when you need to keep the leading or draw.]
BWM will perform well if opponent play 41221, he will be free to control the ball. [But his rating will still be low. I hate this!]
Alternative: BWM to CM / BBM / AP / RP / DLP?
If you found your BWM is closed marked by opponent, you may change the role of BWM to make him free to pick the ball.

3. Why IWB at dmr/l?

Yes, IWB will go to mcr/l position. And BBM at dmr/l will go to same position in attacking. So, IWB and BBM will be very close and make 2 vs 1 situation.
I tried WB, WB will not help a lot for possession, more crossing is not the idea.
I tried FB at dr/l, too. This could be an alternative. Good in ball possession, keep wide supporting. But IWB is more efficiency in attacking.

4. Why Advanced IFs?

I start with two APs at amr/l. Two APs will not impact BBM to move up, but two APs stay wide and not run into box often. The attack is depend on single forward and two BBMs only. So, I put them up to fr/l postion as IF. In this role, IF will involve attacking more.
Alternative: change IF to AF or PF is option. By this, AF or PF can draw FBs out of box, to provide more space in box for forward and BBMs.
I found Advanced IFs are working well when opponent paly 3 backs, no need to change to AF/PF to utility the flank space.

5. Why T at fc?

in FMM26, our strikers are always stupid. Based on my test, CF or T are only two roles suggested for single forward.
In this tactics, T is selected because:
    1) T will drop back to support defense when team is out of possession;
    2) T will pick the ball in lower position to help build up and counter attack when transition;
    3) T roam more than other roles. Move to flank and switch position with IFs often.
    4) with T at FC position, the whole formation will form several Diamond Shape.
      IF                    IF
                  T
        BBM       BBM
      IWB  BWM  IWB
           DC       DC

[TIPS] T is the best role at FC to work with 2 advanced IF. If there is no FC, 2 advanced IFs will move center to box often. If there is FC, advanced IF will not move center to box often. Because T is will leave FC position, drop deep or roam to flank, advanced IFs will have more chance to move into box.

Finally a tactic with BBM on DM, have you noticed their movement on each mentality? i haven't figured it out much since as you said they sometime just conflicts with other player roles

I have not noticed the impact from mentality, but wide player roles(IF and IW) really impacted

did it impacted them mostly negatively? and also i have tried using normal winger on AMR alongside IWB on WBR and the BBM can also go for overlapping moves, just to give you some ideas (idk if the IWB actually make a difference but I'm just gonna mention it)

Do you have a specific set pieces instructions to play this tactic?

I normally set manually by my own but I don’t score that much.

Ty

near post routine with mark keeper always works

Rseven already said he's not going to share results, but someone else has shared how it did for them.

If it was someone new to Vibe posting a tactic and claiming it was shit-hot without backing it up with results, maybe there'd be some room for scepticism, but a) rseven didn't claim it was the best tactic ever, he's just sharing a tactic he made using BBMs in the DM position; and more importantly; b) rseven has been a valuable member here for 14 years and as contributed a LOT to this community, so he deserves some trust.

Tactics don't always work for everyone, but it's good when experienced players share what works for them (and explain why), so the rest of us can give it go and see if it works for us.

Just to backup Scratch's point ...

@rseven is definitely a tactics guru - he has spent a lot of time looking into creating & tweaking FMM tactics - and he (correctly!) regularly corrects me / tells me I'm wrong about something with player movement. I really like this and I've learnt a lot from him. Key point: he knows his stuff.

Also I've been told Rseven leads (or one of the leads) for the FMM Chinese language group (which is pretty big). Key point: he's very active, even if it's not all on this English language site.

PS. I like the look of this tactic, and like that it doesn't need a high-aerial striker to work (instead it uses a T. who drops deep to create space for the IFs - love it). As normal - whether it works for you, or with which types of teams it works best for, is something the community would have to test & try out.

👍

Hi DanEnglish, T with a high-aerial is the best choice, such as Sesko and Hojlund in my MU save.

Yes, as Scratch said what I want to share is not the tactics, which is how to use BBM at DMC position and my design note for tactics.

When I read someone tactics thread, I will be interested in how it works and why it works, anything special behind it?

This tactic, with a low center of gravity in midfield and a double box-to-box, offers some wonderful play and is a pleasure to watch.

We can definitely say that the BBM-BWM-BBM trio, with man-marking on the BWM, is the most positive surprise of this season so far, on par with the BBM-RP-BBM trio in FMM23 and the RP-RP-RP trio in FMM24.
In my opinion, it's possible to integrate this midfield into other tactics and see how it goes (I'm doing it and so far with excellent results, but it's too early to tell).

I must say that I've also found this tactic to be very solid, probably the most solid at the moment, if you're playing in the lower divisions against underdog teams.

Well done, @rseven (y)

Does the BWM have marking set to 'man' in this tactic?

I don't know if i understand correctly your question. For "this tactic" I mean the Rseven's tactics (where man marking is ON for BWM). This is crucial, mainly against opponent's with AM.

That's it, I was checking as he doesn't mention anywhere in the post about man marking being on for the BWM

Aha, I can explain my idea for man marking BWM more if you are interested.

I had mentioned I use BWM at mcc position to mark opposite AMC. If you turn on "Man Marking", your defender will mark the opponent into his zone and track with him. This is why I turned on "Man Marking" to my BWM. And if there is a DMC in opponent, my BWM at mcc position could also mark him closely.

PS:
"Man Marking" is a "dangerous" setup in FMM2026. Because the attacking quality of AI team had been improved, Man Marking defenders will be pulled out and leave his position easily. So I do NOT suggest to turn on "Man Marking" for center defenders and single DMC in FMM2026.

Does this tactic work for smaller teams?

Depends on the quality of your BBMs. At least, your BBMs should be above or close to average in league.

A dumb question, if the opponent team does not play with an AMC but with 2 CM or even 2 AMC, the man marking from our CM will not be a problem?
another question, you think having 2 sweepers instead of 2 CD will work? Ty

I recommend using zonal marking. Whatever formation you're using, and if you want to win the match, I suggest placing one defensive midfielder alongside either a central midfielder or a two-way midfielder, depending on the player's profile. Up front, I recommend placing either a playmaker or, if available, a hidden striker.

My idea is not change the base since I like this formation and works very good for me, just wondering that’s all

@rseven when you could plz :)
