Chat Way too many disallowed goals?

My team has scored eight disallowed goals in less than 20 matches. Many of them would've actually changed the result (I would've won against City and Juve, and I could've avoided the losses against Bologna and Como). Are disallowed goals just MORE in general in this new fmm26 or is there something I could do to avoid so many disallowed goals?

It truly is frustrating, and I hope they fix this bug in the upcoming update! However, you can reduce the frequency of disallowed goals by doing the following:

  • Avoid the "Overload' mentality.
  • Lower the tempo to stop rushing the final pass and getting caught offside.
  • Avoid roles like "Advanced Forward' and "Poacher", as they constantly sit on the shoulder of the last defender.
  • If you notice your Inside Forwards are getting caught offside, switch the right one to an Inverted Winger and the left one to a Winger.
  • If your strikers have the "Likes to try to beat offside trap" trait, they will constantly push the defensive line, which is exactly what you want to avoid right now.
  • If your strikers have Movement and Decisions attributes below 15, they are more likely to make poor positioning choices.
  • Use "Work Ball Into Box", this ensures players won't force the final pass or cross until they are sure of the positioning.
  • Activate "Look for Overlap".
  • Avoid Direct passing to prevent offsides. I recommend Mixed or even Short passing, the latter offers even more security, as players will hold onto the ball until the striker is in a legal playing position.

I’ve actually had as many as three goals disallowed in a single match, it made me feel like I was going losing my mind! 😁 Other times, I’ve had a streak of four matches where one or two goals were called back in every single game.

Thanks for the detailed reply!! Just by reading it I've already noticed two mistakes on my part: I always use the overload mentality and always keep a high tempo as instructions for my team. I'll hop on FM now and try to adjust more things like you suggested 😄
