Any time I see it or think about it I just laugh. Nothing else you can do as it's not worth the fume. It helps the Stoke 6-1 hurt alot more, come on ffs they felt so sorry for us in Gerrard's last game they let him score.

Alisson out for potentially 6 weeks so hopefully we find a keeper today and perhaps another CB as if Gomez is going to perform like that we can't rely on an injury prone Matip.

Then again that's football, you take the highs with the lows. This squad has taken us to the Premier League trophy and three European finals, I'm not writing them off any time soon.

I’m not writing us off either based on one game. I actually think the no crowds is having an impact on the game in terms of defence and not just based on us either. I’ve got a few ideas in my head on why it’s happening but the main one is that the players just aren’t feeling the pressure so losing concentration more easily. Also when things go badly wrong you can see how games could easily just turn into training sessions. Again, it’s no excuse and take nothing away from villa who were fantastic but I honestly don’t think we take a hammering like that if there’s a crowd there.

Can’t remember enjoying a weekend of football as much I did weekend just gone, totally crazy! The no crowds seem to be affecting things, some teams seem like it’s helping and some teams it doesn’t looks like it’s helping at all!

I'd love to use this as an excuse for our shambolic start to the season, but when the prem resumed last season we finished as one of the in form teams, us, City and Southampton I think we're the best 3 form wise

Yeah to be honest it was more directed at Liverpool than you guys, I think you need to improve defensively, I don’t see an actual leader in there. They all look so nervy and making silly mistakes.

I expect Liverpool to improve now, can’t see Klopp taking performances like that well. But I just can’t see Ole improving things? Maguire looks like he has no confidence at all now.

Yeah, I’m very easy going with it all now as the league win last year was the final piece of my jigsaw and I honestly never thought I’d ever see us win it. I think we should be able to bounce back but in terms of who wins the league, I have no idea. Even the flu virus makes things very unpredictable as teams are going to lose players at times. I’ve mentioned previously that I’m not really enjoying the game without fans but I am at least finding it interesting and the longer it goes on like this we might start to see patterns as to the changes it’s having on the matches.

To be honest he seems like he is trying to do everything and covering as much as he can but its hindering the defense. Thing is the rest are playing so poorly that its causing mistakes to creap into his game more than usual.

He needs a quality partner and for Ole to stop buying attacking players.

Yeah there has been teams that seem to have the “winners hangover” when the next season comes, maybe a bit of complacency creeping in. I can’t see it lasting with you’re lot. The no fans has started to grow on me more lately, still no where near as good as With fans in the stadium, but the amount of goals so far has made it more interesting!

I agree with you there, it’s massive battle for one player to be in, I do still think though for the money they paid for him you’d expect more, he was signed to be that leader in there and I just don’t get how them players are playing so poor around him cause there surely not as bad as they’re making out 🙈

Had fans been at the game last night, we would not of won that 7-2. No chance.

The negativity from us villa fans would of creeped in at 2-1, when Salah got your first, would of affected our players and we would of lost. Quite simply.

Our away support is top notch, but home fans are very quick to get on the players backs when it doesnt go our way.

I remember watching a Newcastle u23s game years ago, the man, the myth, the far from a legend, Gabriel Obertan scored a screamer in it, can't remember who they were playing.

Wonder where's he at now?

Now if you look headless chicken up in the dictionary I’m sure there’s a picture of him next to it, how we finished 5th with him in our team I don’t know. Just had a look on Wikipedia, he’s still only 31 and plays in Turkeys top division!

Personally I think it's abit of a cop-out but it was an United friend that mentioned it about our performance. This week we lost two players to the virus and alot of our players looked like their heads weren't in the game. If the virus is in the squad it's only natural players will worry about not only catching it but taking it home. I have to admit it does get in your head as we've had a few "suspected" but ultimately negative cases at work and you can basically feel everyone's arse clench when the rumours start. So I can only assume recieving actually positive results for team mates you're with everything day and from the people they're only really allowed to socialise with outside of family could get in your head.

Obviously it's no excuse but these lads are human, and we've never seen these players heads drop like they did yesterday. If it was a mentally draining week and within minutes your keeper throws one in, you're denied a penalty and three deflections fly in I'm not surprised if it felt like everything was going wrong and they crumbled.

Not sure I buy it but it's an interesting theory.

Shaqiri with a positive test for the virus now. Clearly a large portion of our squad are infected which caused the disastrous showing on Sunday. 😂

Null and void.

6 weeks suspension......Alisson might be ready by then 😂

Psst no-one wants null and void now as we aren't on for a guaranteed title as yet 😛

In all seriousness it does somewhat validate my above comment and if the virus is going through the squad that could go along way to explain the lack of energy and oddness in the performance. Obviously we know it can take a while to show which is very worrying.

Just finish the season as the table is now is my best outcome 🤣

To be fair, the bottom three might not actually change that much.

So now we're buying mascots😂 I thought the pandemic left teams short of money, can't wait to see him tackling Messi this year

That’s brilliant 🤣

I thought it was Ozil off there first.

If but only, greedy bugger is happy on his £350k a week salary and being dropped from the squad so sitting around doing nothing, his offer of paying Gunnersaurus salary is worth about one days salary for a year of Gunnersaurus's, would have been more impressed if he took a 10% pay cut then everyone made reduntant could be saved.

There are other players who could do the same gesture? Instead of picking on Ozil, why not take the time to criticise those who don’t do anything at all?

Didn't Ozil refuse the paycut because he didn't trust how Arsenal would use the money? When Henderson and co set up that 10% stuff. Well Arsenal are sacking people left right and centre while paying £45m for a player. Tbh I can't shit on Ozil for that. Yes he's paid way too much (which they willingly gave him, like we'd ever turn down a pay rise), yes he doesn't play to warrant anything like his wage and obviously this was done as two fingers up at Arsenal and for PR as the loss in wages is essentially meaningless to him. It's nothing more than Ozil ruffling feathers at Arsenal by doing the right thing. Yet amazingly Ozil is painted as the over paid twat, it's honestly amazing how the media spin this shit, Sterling is another excellent example of the media causing a spin.

Obviously Liverpool aren't above criticism after they tried to abuse the government scheme then spent money.

To be fair Ozil can be his own worst enemy at times, I can see why some Arsenal fans would not be happy with him, his effort in games I’ve seen in the past would make me so frustrated if I was a Newcastle fan, I guess that’s why he gets “picked on” more than anything and he doesn’t seem to train well, the way Arteta speaks. You expect someone on that wage to give more.

I don’t think he’s done anything wrong by offering this though or even turning down a pay cut, he didn’t believe the money would be used wisely and he’s probably right. I do think these cuts would have been made anyway, especially with the money there spending.

It is a publicity stunt otherwise quite simply it would have been done privately instead of Ozil going public but to be honest that is irrelevant as it’s a good thing regardless and you have to admire the lengths he will go to fuck Arsenal’s reputation. At the end of the day I doubt the bloke who dresses up as a dinosaur every other weekend cares much about whether it’s in the news or not that his wages are being paid by other means.

What part of that is his fault though? He accepted what Arsenal gave him. Arsenal are the issue not the player, sure he might have demanded such a wage but it's still up to the club to okay it.

It's mental that Sanchez who was on the same wage at United with same level of out put wasn't lazy or greedy.

Not a single person here could say they'd turn down £350k a week.

The way i see it, if another company offers you double your wage to do the same job, you are not going to say no are you?

Yes the player may have said 'I want £X' but, the club can always refuse.

In regards to him not taking a paycut, he wasn't the only player who refused was he? Im sure i read that they refused because they were not sure the savings would of been used correctly.

Remember, this is the same club who made 55 'normal' club staff redundant, THEN signed a player for £50m @ £100,000's a week.
