@Nucleus @BatiGoal @Woody And there was me thinking these guys are smashing it up and must be legends at FMM coming up through the ranks from novice to legend through hard graft.......there goes my dream of becoming a tactical master. Oh wait there I might have a spare £2 somewhere, @PriZe count me in!

    Season 4
We now head into our 4th season with ‘The Machine’ still ticking over very nicely. But this season I knew I had to try and keep him fit and hopefully get him to extend his contract so we could extend our tally some more, but was it to be?
So with that in mind I had to try and get our back room staff more up to speed as we are lacking within our physio department and preventing any injury and maintaining fitness is going to be key.
More clubs keep calling me asking to get them out of a sticky spot.

    Overview
So all in all a good strong season despite a few niggles for Lee but scoring a respectable 35 goals is a tally I was really surprised to achieve. Lee has smashed the target I set him to achieve in their save which was 104 and is currently on 163. Can he reach 200 before he retires.

PilgrimAsh reacted to Rob2017 in Strikerless Double Trouble and Triple Threat Challenge
We have all seen Double Trouble and Triple Threat attempts on the forum, but they are with strikers. Can YOU achieve either with a Strikerless formation?
For those that don’t know, a Double Trouble involves two pre-selected players scoring more than 1200 goals between them in a career. A Triple Threat involves three selected players scoring more than 1500 goals between them in a career.
    The rules are simple:
(Credit to @Foxy for the basis of these)
You can combine both challenges in to one career or do them separately - it is entirely up to you; Your chosen players must not have any green ability at playing as a striker; International goals count only if you are the manager of that nation and all players are of the same nationality; Your formation must not have anyone playing in the five top line position; No cheating including reloading and IGE 💪 EME match engine; Post a career here on Vibe; Have fun.  Leaderboard

@danovic78, please add this to the challenge thread if that’s ok?
p.s. be sure to have a crack at Foxy’s Strikerless 1kc Challenge too:

Firstly, a bonus photo. @Woody‘s last converted winger - Calum Paterson - who played up front and scored 90 goals got In to Team of the Season. At right back! (Which I think may have happened in someone’s (Sam, I think?) before)

    Season 6
This challenge has met really high standards so far, which has bizarrely put a lot of pressure on us all. Both @Foxy and @Woody have both hit 90 in their last seasons, so I had a challenge to match them and also hit my previous effort of 96 goals.
So who did I sign as my converted winger?  Well, I scoured the transfer market and looked at players who fitted my profile and had a green on the wing. One player caught my eye - one player I have a bit of history with. This man:

Yep, my Strikerless hero Asensio has joined us! I know he isn’t ideal for the challenge, but I couldn’t resist.
    Transfers
In terms of other bits and business I sold Vinicius and Rodrygo for large profits having purchased them cheaply in my previous season. I also couldn’t turn down the offer for Krovinovic. I also managed to sell Paterson, which will upset the Woodster.

Incomings were the main man, but also Pulisic. The others were more investments. I’ve also got a few more lined up for the end of the season, so it’ll be interesting if Foxy confirms them or not.

    Trophies
The chaps has smashed the competitions so far. It gave me all the fixtures but also made me want to give Foxy everything to play in. The Supertaca and Euro Super Cup double came first.

A Keita hat trick and one for Marco in the Supertaca.

And then a brace apiece for the main man and Joao Carvalho (who is brilliant).
We bashed our way through the league, crushing teams. At Christmas we had a break whilst we played in the CWC.

Another Asensio double got us the cup.
I tightened the formation up a bit towards the business end of the season to give us the best chance of winning everything. Next up was the League Cup final, which we took comfortably.

The league was won nice and early and we had progressed nicely towards the domestic Cup and Champions Cup finals.

Despite dominating the game we lost the Cup on penalties. Would we do the same in the Champions Cup?
    Nope!

We actually had the reverse. Bayern dominated the game but we nicked it, with Asensio grabbing what turned out to be the winner.

We only lost one all season, which was the League Cup on pens. Job done.
Our overall record and percentages looks good still.

    Asensio
How did Asensio do? He had a few injury niggles, but still managed to play 59 games as the main injury of almost a few months had a busy international period in it.
His attributes looked great at the end, but I never managed to retrain him fully.

Sadly, though, he didn’t hit the 90 goal mark. He still did great though, with 86 goals.

So now we only need 484 goals to get our 1kc from Converted Wingers.

    Thanks!

    Update - Season 10a - Calendar Year
Well, everyone else seems to be doing this (at least @Nucleus and @Titjes are), so I may as well do it with Pinamonti - I'm talking about the The Calendar Year Scoring Challenge.

    Club Goals
Pinamonti starts the year with 34 club goals:

Then gets another 41 in the first half of the year (75-34), followed by 47 in the second half of the year:

So a total of 88 club goals.

    ITN Goals
Not many games this year, so not many goals. He starts with 121 goals:

And finishes the year with 134 goals:

A total of 13 ITN goals this year.

    Total For The Year
Club Goals   88 ITN Goals   13  TOTAL: 101 Not a bad start. He's had some seasons where he would have topped this, but it will be enough to earn him a place on the leaderboard. But of course, he's going to beat this score next year!

    Wait what’s this?
Another few offers from abroad but my devotion to this challenge is too great and I decline them all.
    Oh no 😱!
Maybe not! Like I’ve said before this guy is a machine!!!

128/104!! We set out a target and we smashed it sorry @Cockers2505 you set a good target to chase and inspired a great challenge for me to undertake, now let’s see how much further we can raise that bar.

Ok, since my Chelsea career is winding down with only two more seasons left and i have a little more time with office work a little light, i thought i would attempt another goal scoring challenge which is unique in flavor.
    https://fmmvibe.com/forums/topic/40709-going-out-with-a-bang-lee-dong-gook/

Yes, I am attempting the Lee Dong Gook challenge where you need to take the 37 year striker and score as much goals as possible.
If you haven't checked out the challenge yet, by all means check this original attempt by @Cockers2505  or the ongoing cracking attempt by @PilgrimAsh as these threads were the one that inspired me.

Anyways, enough of pleasantries, now off to the main part.

    Season 1
    Transfers
Didn't do much changes as i wanted to get a feel of the team as i have never managed in Korea before and i had no idea what the players can do. Just did some depth signing at the back with Hinostroza as the only one for whom we spent money. He would play as my DLP in the tactics that i had created for Chelsea which i would implement here as well.

    Season Performance

We did a clean sweep in my first season though it was not hunky dory and we were made to toil, not helped by the fact that i had a pretty leaky back who conceded a humongous 63 goals in the league!!!.

    League Performance
As you can see, our defense was pathetic and our attack bailed us out in the season time and again. In the end that was the decisive factor as we held on for the title in the slimmest of margins with just 2 points ahead of Pohang. Lee Dong-Gook was everywhere, scoring 34 goals in the league, double of second placed Tiago of Jeju and his partner-in-crime Adriano chipped in with 11 assists to take the joint lead at top.

    Cup Runs
As you can see, the cups were too close for comfort as we managed to win the FA Cup due to our first leg win and in the Asian Conf. Cup, we had to rely on penalties to eke out the win with Lee missing a penalty in the extra time.

    Notable matches - Lee
5 hattricks for the season for the Lee Machine.

    Awards

We almost had a clean sweep in the awards, only missing out on the Young Player of the Year and two of our players made it to the Team of the Season.

    The Playmaker

Adriano was our best playmaker by far with 19 goals and 17 assists, partnering Lee at the front and scoring and creating goals.

    Now, onto our main man:

Fantastic from Lee Dong-Gook. 56 goals from 52 matches going over a goal a match.

    2025 Calendar Year Challenge
So after failing this challenge last year I desperately wanted to make amends. Some luck is needed but a tactical tweak has also paid dividends in my opinion. From January to the end of the season, Mbappé managed to score a very respectable 58 goals for us as he produced a century year which you can find in the last update. That bodes well for the second half of the year as he only needs 34 or more goals to beat the challenge yet again.

Beat it he did, in emphatic fashion too! 48 goals for the second half of the year gives him a lovely tally of 106 goals for the Calendar Year.

It will be worth it mate, setting the right foundations is key and you will be rewarded in seasons to come, it’s similar to lower league in England and is the way I start my journey man saves. I’m not saying you can’t beat these teams but realistically it will be hard no matter what tactic you use.

Hi mate, as @PilgrimAsh says you will struggle outside of Rangers and Celtic, but, you can make a difference with the right training, this can improve your NEW players and some of the original team over time, so I wouldn't expect a miracle within the first season maybe, but then, choose players wisely, maybe good Stamina, Pace and Strength Attributes are good for all round players, then depending on the position you are after you can add Aerial, Shooting etc
The other big advantage you have if you want to look, is the Wonderkids Complete List, where you know some will make a difference in the first season, as others improve over time to being World Class (if you can afford or actually entice them to join you). These will even bring you funds to build on if they do move on, so it could be a double bonus if you capture some of these gems
So with the right players, and training, you could be winning the Scottish Premiership definitely within the second/third season, hope this helps

PilgrimAsh got a reaction from Eckymo in Hearts Scottish
Hi mate I know there’s a big difference in quality between the top teams and the rest in the Scottish leagues, it’s not a league I know that well but from what I do know is rangers and Celtic are most definitely much stronger than other teams. So they will be tough to beat. As for formations this really is dependant on your players and there strengths etc I have tested a number of tactics and none are plug and play. The main bit of advice I can give is work to your players stengths and build a team and formation to work cohesively and not against each other. If you haven’t got much quality I would keep things simple in the tactic and again play to your teams strengths, create a tactic and test it, but all tactics will need some amount of tweaking depending on who you are playing and what players your using. I by no means an expert at tactics but that would be my advice.
Sorry it’s a little vague but I don’t know what players you have or funds available etc, I normally try and hit the free transfer market if my players aren’t up to scratch and I haven’t got much funds, there’s often some good finds there.
Playing the top two will get easier the more you strengthen your team and build a team and using a tactic that plays to your teams strengths. I hope this helps a little and hopefully someone a little more experience with FMM can guide you a little more.
Keep at it and enjoy the game

We select Lewis Cook as an unusal choice for this season.
    Transfers Out

    Letting out the fringe players.
    Transfers In

Had to spend huge to bring in Cook. The others were brought in as solid backups and to give depth to the squad. Kane was brought in as Morata is becoming too injury prone and i am thinking of selling him out. The squad is now really looking like world beaters.

    Season Performance

Another clean sweep. My second in 4 years. Also, we score 100 league points for the first time in this career. Our defense is also shaping up well. Just 34 goals conceded in the league.
    League Performance
Batshuayi walking in Morata's footsteps winning the Golden Boot two years in a row while Cook take the assists pole comfortably.

    Cup Runs
Best match was of course destroying Man City 5-0 in the FA Cup final and look at that conversion, 9 shots on target and 5 goals for us winning back the FA Cup which we lost in semi-final stage last season.

    Champions League
Arsenal faced us in two finals, European Super Cup and Champions League and we defeated them successfully both times.

Let us see how our @scratch99 Bad Boys are doing.

9 Red in 3 seasons for Carvajal and 74 yellows in 3 for Emerson.

    Batshuayi

Could only net 40 goals-10 less than last year but reached the 100 goal milestone for the club.

    But now, what about Cook??
    Lewis Cook

Lewis Cook take a bow!!! Look at all those greens. He made it up for his lack of goals with his assists - 43 in total, the highest ever in a season in this save. He missed 8 penalties in all otherwise we would have been looking at a handsome points total.

This is thanks to the idea from @Foxy with the Maguire Brothers Challenge

The 'OX' Brothers One Season Challenge
This challenge is based around the two Oxlade-Chamberlain Brothers.

The guy on the left is the one and only Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, a once former Southampton and Arsenal midfielder, bought by Liverpool for £35 Million pounds in August 2017. On the right, is his 20 year old Brother Christian Oxlade-Chamberlain who was recently completed a transfer to Notts County (But at Portsmouth in FMM 2018) for free in July 2018.
Alex has scored some spectacular goals over his career as an attacking midfielder, racking up 21 goals for his 3 clubs so far, but Christian is a right back (Like his Father) with 7 goals (All on Loan) to his name during his short professional career. As in the Maguire Challenge, you will need to get both these lads firing upfront in this One Season Challenge.
Can you get these 2 to play together at Liverpool just like their Dad and Uncle did back in the 80's, Mark and Neville Chamberlain, who played at Port Vale and Stoke together.

Currently both the Oxlade-Chamberlain brothers are sharing some time together on the sidelines

    The Challenge
You will need to take over at Liverpool and buy Christian Oxlade-Chamberlain. The task is then to get the pair of them to score as many goals between them as you can in one season.

I wanted to test them over a couple of seasons with this final challenge and I had a scout around in the index and found this. I like this challenge because although it involves using a club we are all familiar with the player choices are definitely unfamiliar for most of us.
    Challenge 5
    The Paulinho Alcantara Challenge
This challenge was created by @Woody so 100% credit goes to him all I did was trawl the challenge forum to find it. Here is the original post by Woody for more detail and I will summarise underneath.

So Paulinho Alcantara was Philipino but born in Spain and played for both those nations during his career as well as club football for Barcelona. Dami and Kane job is to sign a Philipino striker and try to match or better his goal tally of 200 goals in 177 games. In put that in context if there striker plays 60 games a season in will take a little under 3 seasons to play those games.
Once your striker has played 177 games for Barca it is challenge over so keep track of his Barca games not his Career games and goals if he played for clubs previously.
Another major part of this challenge is that they cannot make any other transfers in during the time this challenge takes so they must use players already in the first team and develop some of the talent in the B team as well.
    Rules
    ·        Take over at Barcelona and sign a Philipino striker. Load Australia and South Korean leagues to help find a player.
    ·        Your striker must play 177 games and once he has it is challenge over.
    ·        Most goals after 177 games wins.
    ·        In case of a tiebreak it will be most team goals that wins.
    ·        No editing of any form.
    ·        No reloading to avoid injuries, suspensions or getting a good thrashing.
    ·        No unlockables.
I believe the guys will be doing season by season updates so I hope you will follow along.
    Good luck lads.

    CONCLUSION
I think Arthur is never going to end the GAM if he keeps scoring in the same minutes every season
Pellegri is my favorite player I used in the game so far, the guy is an absolute beast

Season 11: Rising with the Mexican Messi
After quite a decent first season performance by Rojas and the Houston team, we head into our 2nd season knowing that time is not on our side, and we have to try to score and assist as many shots as possible before time runs out!
