Ian got a reaction from DutchTony in FM22 Mobile Releasing November 9th
I’ve mentioned this before but thought I would do again just in case by some miracle a member of the SI team visits the site and sees it.
More tactic slots are required due to us now having set piece instructions. I can’t believe they weren’t added this year to be honest, unless there’s some reason they can’t be.
I suppose on Android it isn’t much of a chore to move tactics over to a different folder on the device and then move them back and forth between there and the game whenever requires but that isn’t so easy on iOS.
It’s needed so we can save quite a bit of time when it comes to setting up set pieces as it’s a pain to have to keep doing it over and over for different formations. It would also somewhat get around the fact that we can’t change them in-game. You could be trying to see a game out and want more players to stay back or pushing for a goal and want more to stay forward as an example. You could set the different versions up in advance and have them saved in different tactic slots to change to quickly at will.
Not a massive thing for many I’m sure but for me it’s essential.

Plenty in football at the higher levels don’t pay any taxes at all despite earning millions, City of London and all that. So, when they start preaching about certain issues of the world I just switch off as it’s as fake as fake can get. I suppose they’re role models as is often said but that means nothing to me as I watch them purely for their footballing ability.
Let’s see whether there’ll be much of a push back against the World Cup next year.

Some poor soul was more than likely paid next to nothing to make the t-shirt I’m wearing. Thousands of children risk their lives every day and get paid next to nothing digging for the minerals required to power the device I’m typing this out on. Do I care? Well yes I’d say I do but clearly not enough it would seem.
Plenty stinks in this world and unfortunately we all just turn a blind eye to most of it. It’s at the stage where non of us can even attempt to take the moral high ground.

I personally think Ashley was pretty shit. Fair enough you could say the club didn’t go to complete ruin under him but they were still very much pushing the top teams when he arrived and apart from a brief spell in the early 10’s, they haven’t done since. I live up here as I’ve said and it’s clear from talking to people over the years that he made everything about the club toxic. I’m talking about people doing work for the club etc, just toxic, I’m not even a Newcastle fan but I can’t say I’m not glad he’s gone.

Ian got a reaction from Woody in Ian goes for a 1kc with Lorenzo Colombo (Season 2)
    Season 3
    On we go.

    Transfers
We’re just trying to gradually get things sorted for the future, so there were just a few key signings and a load of graduates.
    The main transfers were;
Bastoni - A big offer came in for Fabinho, which I accepted and brought Bastoni in as his replacement. We now have four Italians as our centre back options and all relatively young so hopefully we’re sorted there for a few years. Szoboszai - I couldn’t resist the great Hungarian youngster but it’s just deciding where to play him as he’s so versatile. Dest - Brought in to be our first choice right wing back. He replaced the outgoing Conti in the two man rotation with Calabria. Tonali - I brought him in as a freebie and I was debating whether to use him or just sell him straight on for a profit. It was the latter as I wasn’t totally sold on him and £30m seemed like a decent fee. Olmo - A quality playmaker.

    Team Results
It was much better in the league this year as there weren’t as many dropped points and we scored more goals. We won the third place playoff game in the Club World Cup, beat Monaco in the European Super Cup and then it was very much a Milan thing when it comes to the other cup competitions. We beat Inter in the Super Cup on penalties, narrowly lost out to them in the Italian Cup semi over two legs and then beat them in the Champions League final.

    Lorenzo Colombo
He started the season like a house on fire and at this point I thought we’d nailed it.

Just one injury this year and not a bad one but it was a struggle at times with the heavy schedule due to the winter World Cup.

It was 70 goals in 49 games for Lorenzo this year which I’m happy enough with all things considered. I mean, there is frustration there as he failed to continue on his early season form and his return ended up not being much different to that of last year considering the games played. On the other hand, it was the winter World Cup year and the schedule was pretty tough for him as he’s still pretty young.

I’m not sure there’s much more improvement left in him but he’s just had a welcome boost to his physicals in the off season. I’d be pretty happy if we could just get those and his movement up a bit more.

    Season 4
Just a brief update here as I’m not sure I’ll be continuing. I got the team ready with some new signings and was pretty happy with the squad going into the new season. Things just didn’t go so well as we just couldn’t seem to score as many goals and it’s frustrated me.
The team won everything except the Champions League where Man U knocked us out in the quarter final. A lot of dropped points in the league though and our goal output fell down to similar to the first two seasons.

Colombo just wasn’t as good either with just 64 goals in 50 games. I suppose he still has a chance of making the 1kc but it’s just not what is expected on here, so I’m not sure whether I’m going to continue or not. Apologies for wasting all of your time if I don’t continue on but it’s not something I’ve done too often in fairness. We’ll see though as I may pick it up again but can’t say I want to do much testing at this stage and it’s looking like I’ll need to as this tactic clearly isn’t happening.

Ian reacted to samhardy in Vibe Awards FMM21 - Nominations (CLOSED)
Hi everyone and welcome to the annual Vibe community awards where you can all show some love to members, content, events and more that you have enjoyed over the course of FMM21.
The new game will be coming out exactly a month from now so it seems a perfect time to look back over the last year on vibe.
Next week @FuddledFox will be presenting his traditional “interesting” awards ceremony but first we need everyone’s help to come up with the nominations for each category.
If you’re not sure how this works or it’s the first awards you’ve participated in then it’s very simple. Everyone nominates a few things per category, when those categories are created it goes to a vote to decide the winner of each. Here is a link to last years awards:
    This year’s categories are:
Best Member (overall) Best Newcomer Best Career Best Article Best Community Event Best Challenge Biggest Fail And a special award that will be handed out on the night.
So don’t be shy and make sure anything you have enjoyed this year gets nominated. Anything that gets more than one nomination will automatically be included in the voting phase. Anyone is welcome to nominate and vote in these awards, whether you are a regular or someone who just visits on a sporadic basis, the more nominations the better.
PLEASE SEND IN YOUR NOMINATIONS VIA PM TO ME. There is no limit to how many nominations you can make per category and try to nominate for every category if possible.
Obviously you cannot nominate yourself or your own content as that completely defeats the object. The nomination phase will be open until Sunday night so just over 72 hours from now.
I will reply to all nominations that are sent to me so if I don’t reply within 24 hours then send them again as I haven’t received them. We always get a good turnout for these awards so hopefully this can continue this year.
    Thanks!

The thing, it’s almost certain that plenty of businesses already do deals with them so where do you draw the line?

    Season 2
We had a bit of a mixed opening season where the team weren’t overly great but at least Lorenzo showed some promise. Let’s see how season two went.

    Transfers
I’m trying to be somewhat methodical when it comes to the transfers so we don’t waste too much money and end up in a pickle. The idea is that I’ll think very carefully about every transfer and try not to make many unnecessary signings. I’m generally bringing all of the graduates through on this save as I’ve found on other saves that you can often raise a good bit of funds selling off the lesser ones after a year or two and sometimes some of them end up turning out better than expected.
    The main signings were;
    Goretzka - Just a brilliant midfielder and a decent age so not much thought went into this one. Merino - Another nice midfielder who I eventually decided to go for. I’m not totally sold on him but for £41m I felt he was a good option as he’s usually pretty steady if not fantastic. Chukwueze - A decent young left winger to train up. I believe I used him at Villarreal on my Hagi save so tried and tested to some degree. The outgoings were;
Kjær - I felt he could go as I was planning on moving Fabinho into the centre back rotation with the two new midfielders arriving.  Castillejo - He was decent on the left wing last season but I wanted someone slightly younger to replace him and Chuck was the chosen player. Pobega - The big offer came in that I felt I couldn’t refuse as he’s not that great. The rest were deadwood leaving and youngsters going out on loan.

    Team Results
A slightly better season this year in winning the league, Italian Cup and the Champions League, albeit we weren’t fantastic in the league and I’d put us down as being pretty lucky to win both of the cups as there were a few close ties throughout. Winning the CL meant we’d qualified for the Club World Cup, which caught me on the hop as I forgot it was this year. Anyway, we had a few decent wins in that before Dortmund knocked us out in the semi.

    Fixtures
A nice start with some good returns from Lorenzo but a poor spell in early December and slightly too many blank performances for my liking. The squad is still pretty young though and I’m kind of hoping things gradually improve as we move forward.

    Lorenzo Colombo
Just the one injury this season which came in the middle of April and subsequently meant he’d miss practically the whole of the run-in. He wasn’t actually available until the Champions League final which was much longer than the predicted one month and slightly annoying.

He ended up with 59 goals in 42 games which I guess is a good improvement on last season but he is a year older and had the Club World Cup games to aid him. I made a mistake with the tactic and didn’t notice until a few games into this season. Basically I had the free kicks outside the box set to short instead of the intended shoot, it was annoying but to be honest I’m not sure it would’ve made much difference. The fact he’s our top scorer and the two behind him are our only other two strikers gives me some confidence as there doesn’t appear to be any issues in terms of the percentage of goals going to the striker position.

I think that might be it for his aerial so I think I’ll switch my focus on getting his movement and physicals up a bit more if possible. Other than that, I guess it’s onwards and upwards.

Ian got a reaction from Scratch in Scratch Tries The Split 1KC (Actually Completed!)
I was going with marking the keeper and the corner directed to the penalty spot with everyone else getting out of the way as my preferred routine but then altered it to something more varied like you mention on my Hagi save. The varied routine seemed to work pretty well with Hagi but I’ve since tried it on another save with different players and it’s just not quite as good there so I think I’ll revert back to the original routine from his on.
Funnily enough I’ve been thinking about trying a 1kc too as my final save for this year as it suddenly dawned on me that I’ve never completed one for two years. It’s just finding a player to use as you look through the options and we’ve kind of used most of them over the last few years. I have found a player that is tempting me though and I don’t think he’s been used before so I may go with him. He starts out at 18, so a nice age too. I guess I’ll have to test a few tactics out.

Thanks Mr Sandwich, hopefully it’ll be a success.

It seems to be somewhat ok for the striker but results aren’t quite so good, although it is the first season with the horrible schedule so I don’t want to judge it too soon.

Thank you Scratch, we managed to avoid the sack but it still wasn’t fantastic and subsequently I’m going to make a slight change going into next season.

Cheers Woody, I’m hoping it’ll be a success.

I’ll be back with the first season update later as I want to keep up to date with the posting.
