    Season 10
    Another season done.

    Transfers:
Arsenal paid big for a regen who was very good but very moody. It was starting to annoy people so I cashed in. McKennie has been so useful but his time is up. Managed to get good money for him. Although Stengs is still quality I have a better player waiting to take his place. Frenkie de Jong has been sent out on loan. Teams were only offering 30/40m for him so I'm happy to loan him out to give younger players a chance.
A few more youngsters added to the ranks. I also had to swap two fantastic players with Benfica because their attitudes were affecting the squad. Both incoming players are potentially just as good and have better attitudes so hopefully it works out.

    Competitions:

    Same old story.

    International:
A season of qualifiers. Gravenberch scored 17 goals in 8 games. His record now stands at 224 goals in 109 caps, which is just silly. 🤣

    Gravenberch:
A three week injury this season. It happened quite late on so game time wasn't really affected.

The injury is the reason for the three red arrows. I'm sure they will go the other way once he starts next season.

    Goals: 116 (club) + 17 (International) = 133
    Overall: 1279
Massive season. I always like the club world cup seasons because there's a chance to get off to such a good start.

    Manager profile:

Smashing through this. No new challenge demands either so hopefully he saw how crazy that was and wants to stay and beast it here for a while longer.
    Thanks for following. 👍

I’ve mentioned this before but thought I would do again just in case by some miracle a member of the SI team visits the site and sees it.
More tactic slots are required due to us now having set piece instructions. I can’t believe they weren’t added this year to be honest, unless there’s some reason they can’t be.
I suppose on Android it isn’t much of a chore to move tactics over to a different folder on the device and then move them back and forth between there and the game whenever requires but that isn’t so easy on iOS.
It’s needed so we can save quite a bit of time when it comes to setting up set pieces as it’s a pain to have to keep doing it over and over for different formations. It would also somewhat get around the fact that we can’t change them in-game. You could be trying to see a game out and want more players to stay back or pushing for a goal and want more to stay forward as an example. You could set the different versions up in advance and have them saved in different tactic slots to change to quickly at will.
Not a massive thing for many I’m sure but for me it’s essential.

Before I get ahead of myself and target 2k goals, I'll attack the 1.5k first, obviously. I'm back to work this week so trying to rattle a few seasons off. Managed another one.

    Transfers:
Pembele, whilst turning out to be a very good defender wanted a new challenge. His wish was granted. Don't want anyone that doesn't want to be here. Mutombo was a good utility player. Covered a few positions when we had injuries. I have other players for that now. Meslier was just replaced with a Dutch wonderkid.
Two players signed from Feyenoord. Future replacements for Wijndal and Ihattaren.

    Competitions:

Clean sweep, again. The Eagle eyed amongst you will notice we lost a League game. More on that later.

    International:

I find the Euro's tougher than World Cups. You play a top team in the group and every Knockout Round seems to be a top Nation. We triumphed still.
    Another International League win too.
Gravenberch is now on 207 goals in 101 games for the Netherlands after netting 30 goals in his 14 Caps.

    Gravenberch:
A three week injury this season. We were missing him when we lost in the League against Bordeaux.

    Goals: 103 (club) + 30 (International) = 133
    Overall: 1146
The injury didn't stop the run of ton goal seasons, thankfully.

    Manager profile:

Operation 1.5k (and 2k) off to a brilliant start. I have noticed an exclamation mark next to Gravenberch's name. He "wants a new challenge". I had a chat with him and he is now happy to stay. Phew! Does he not know there's a challenge here for him? Silly boy. I'll have to monitor that.
    Anyway, thanks for reading. 👍

    Season 8

    Transfers:
No players in. Nothing tickled my fancy. No youngsters and certainly nothing that would improve my first team.
Devyne Rensch, whilst still being relatively young had improved as much as he could but he has fallen behind one of the youngsters I signed to replace him already. Was time to cash in.

    Competitions:

    No problems here.

    International:
In between major tournaments so nothing to report.
Gravenberch scored 23 goals in 10 Internationals. His record now is 177 goals in 87 caps.

    Gravenberch:
Things were going well until April where he picked up a 3 week injury. luckily it was around an International break so he missed fewer League games than he might have.

    Goals: 109 (club) + 23 (International) = 132
    Overall: 1013
A slight drop off in goals but it's still an amazing return. Plus, we complete the Strikerless 1kc in just 8 seasons.

    Manager profile:

The 1kc is done. Maybe it's time to start another career and see what other challenges are out there? Nah! I'm still having fun here so I think I will carry on until it stops being fun or Gravenberch retires. 😊

Damn, I was too slow. Instead of the 2KC you should have pivoted, changed tactics and got him to 500 assists to claim that split 1KC...
    But yeah, a 2KC wouldn't be bad either... 🤣
Anyway, smashing work, doing fantastically well...

It's sports entertainment, pal. The crowd reactions over the years have been epic. I've wanted to be at a few WWE events too.
The place was ROCKING! Even in defeat, we didn't stop singing. We were kept in after full time for half an hour & didn't stop. Just before they allowed us out, Roy Evans, Robbie Fowler and a few others came back out to applaud us. It was just brilliant.
I've been lucky to experience some great moments in my life and this is right up there with the best.

I quite like that Elliott kid. He's got so much potential. As long as the media don't over-hype him he'll be a big player in the future. I hope he makes a full recovery and sets the league alight for years to come.
I have also gained massive respect for him coming out and admitting that it wasn't a nasty challenge but rather a freak accident. He could of easily jumped on the bandwagon and slated the challenge but it shows real signs of maturity to tell the truth. IMO it was never a red card. The card was given for the severity of the injury & not the actual challenge, which is ridiculous.
I'm delighted that referees aren't penalising every challenge. I think this has been misinterpreted as they're going to let hard tackles go. It seems to be more shoulder to shoulders and players just falling over when breathed on that they're allowing play to carry on (apart from Grealish. Brilliant player but the amount of times he falls over a blade of grass & gets a free kick is absurd) which I'm all for. I like the current rules. Anything wreckless or if you're not in control when attempting a tackle should be dealt with to the letter of the laws but not every hard tackle should be penalised. That's what got me into football. I loved the R9's, Peter Beardsley's an so on but I really enjoyed David Batty and even Roy Keane controlling games with their physicality. Those sorts of players don't exist anymore because players are over-protected. I don't want to see injury after injury because of stupid tackles in games but without any physicality, which is the way things are going, football will be boring. For me anyway.
There will always be players that step over the line and they should be punished but punishing players for making hard but fair tackles will force it out of the game altogether.

The 4-4 draw for Newcastle with Arsenal when we were 4-0 down would of been some game to witness in the stadium.
I was at the second of the two epic 4-3's with Liverpool back in the day and that was incredible, even if we did lose.
