  1. Business as usual in the league as we wrapped it up in March. We unfortunately lost one game near the end of the season as we rotated to compete in Europe. On a plus note though we only conceded 3 goals in the league all season and and a grand total of 8 in all competitions! In November Stanislas Palhinha came third in the World Footballer of the Year awards A month later Sow was named French POTY, a great year for our 2 young IF's Sealed the domestic treble again with a close victory over St Johnstone, our start striker bagging the winner. Another close match saw us grab the CL again winning it back to back for the first time. Finally we went on to win the Club World Championship for the first time in the career! Not quite so outstanding across the indivisual awards this year, missing out on top Goalscorer and Players POTY. The career is getting stale, it's pretty much at a stage of plug and play. Looking for ideas to help freshen it up?
  2. Season 17 Top of the league and we're in December... A phenomenal start with only 1 goal conceded in the league! As per usual Betfred Cup champions with a comfortable 2-0 win. Big shout out to Markus Solskjaer however who had his first start of the season as both of our strikers are out injured and he plays out of his skin. A real future talent! We also have only conceded 1 in the CL so far this season as we topped a tough group with ease. Meaning we have only conceded 3 goals (one in our first friendly against Real Madrid) all season! Stanislas Palhinha was also in the running for the Ballon D'or which is phenomenal for the youngster! For Scotland, we went with a squad full of fresh faces after our disappointing European Championship Qualifying Campaign. The boys rewarded us well going unebaten in our Nations League Group and we haven't lost since the playoff SF. We've been hit with a few injuries this season so far so we'll see what happens for the rest of the season...
  3. Season 16 Summary Another year down and another league title in the bag! Five in a row which is almost inevitable at this stage in the game. The gap is huge between us and the rest however it was a good year for Scotland in Europe as both Celtic and Rangers as they both finished runners-up in the Euro Cup and Euro II. There was a scare in the Scottish Cup as we were almost beaten in the final by Hibernian! They took us all the way to a penalty shootout where we scraped through winning 8-7! Alfredo Laxalt our GK stepped up to bag the winner before saving the last penalty! I said last update I had a feeling we were in for a big season and I wasn't wrong...We started the season as we did the league by beating Liverpool in the CL repeating our win against them in the Super Cup. This notched our second CL victory! Clean sweep of domestic awards amongst the squad with one name in particular cleaning house picking up every single year award as well as Top GS! A brilliant 8.08 avr and a 28 goal return which is brilliant for such a youngster in a huge first season! The club rewarded my tremendous achievements at the club by offering me a position on the board. After starting the season with a massive rebuild, I was pretty happy to concede defeat to the fact we may have a poor year and just focus on domestic trophies but the team have proved me wrong! @StuartM15 goals conceded in all competitions this season and only 5 in the league 😉
  4. It is fairly impressive 😊 although it clearly doesn't work with just average players as my Scotland defence is no where near as solid. Unless it's to do with the positive relationships...nonetheless I'm not complaining!
  5. Its December and its been a solid start to the season! We started it off in style in the Euro Super Cup... With a superb 3-0 win against CL winners Liverpool. Top of the league unbeaten and only one goal conceded. As always our first domestic trophy to compete for is the Betfred Cup. With a large (young) squad and competing on multiple fronts I decided to play a completely different starting 11 in this competition which was risky however still a strong team They didn't disappoint as they wrapped up the competition with no problems. We did manage to avoid both Rangers and Celtic in our run which helped. We were given an extremely tough draw in the CL Group Stages, a 'Group of Death' it would seem We have played phenomenal however and will qualify top with one game left! Our European Qualifiers with Scotland ended disappointingly as we only picked up 1 win from our remaining 5 fixtures finishing 3rd We have been given a lifelines however as we face Bulgaria in the Playoff SF who we recently drew 2-2 with in a friendly so I'm still hopeful! We're in for another big season I can feel it!
  6. Season 16 Pre-Season As I said at the end of last season, there was to be a big overhaul of the squad in the summer to try and improve out work rate from an F £128m made seeing future stars Conte and De Melo leave the club for less than their value as well as starting LB Bahlouli, my son Anthony Hector and backup CB Eickmayer. Old reliable Stevie Sutherland goes to Celtic and as mentioned before starting left IF Azeez was off in a free transfer! Money well spent however with Sow a 5* potential left IF slotting straight into the first team as well as high potential squad player brought in to offer options in rotation. Now here's how we line up for the season... The start of the season may be a struggle as relationships build but it should be a very strong squad and we have great strength in depth to push on all competitive fronts. We managed to increase our Work Rate to a C with a few players still sitting in the reserves waiting on offers. After two league games we face Liverpool in the European Super Cup!
  7. Season 15 Well what a turn around to the end of the season! Another league title which is the utmost minimum achievement each season and again the best defensive record in the league with only 7 goals conceded and 1 defeat. After the disappointment of being knocked out of the Betfred Cup by Celtic we got revenge in the Scottish Cup. It was a game of 2 halves however going in 1-0 down at the break I made all 3 changes. Brendan May coming off the bench kick started the comeback bagging 2 goals after the restart. Five players in TOTY with only 3 teams represented! Not quite a clean sweep of yearly awards but we take the majority! Darren Azeez is off at the end of the season after 11 years at the club after Bournemouth pick him on a bosman. We capped the season off in style winning the Europa League for the second time. Youngster Guillermo Barco bagging a hat trick in the final bag the trophy! Barco at only 20 has brilliant stats for a 20 yo. Hit by several injuries and a rotating squad he gave me 22 goals in return which I'm happy with and hopeful he'll only improve on! We turned the season around with Scotland alsoUnbeaten this campaign we put ourselves in a good position to qualify for our next major international competition! A few big first team players and youngsters being offloaded in the summer to try and improve the work rate amongst the team which currently sits at an F!
  8. Big season ahead, sure you'll make improvements in the summer and be up there!
  9. Season 15 We've kicked on a bit since my last check in, only conceding 2 goals and avoiding defeat in the league We were knocked out of the CL after losing to Barca and beating Inter which was only good enough for the Europa League. A tricky tie against Galatasaray in the first knockout round which we won 5-3 on agg and now face CSKA Moscow. Still struggling a bit for goals but Barco seems to be stepping up as the No1 ST and is top GS in the league.
  10. It is definitely demotivating when nothing works but when you do get it to click, it feels so rewarding. Usually once you have a base it only needs a slight change when it starts to fault again. Good luck
  11. Trial and error! I'm not the best at finding what works myself, I have am ideology and choose my formation/instructions based on that. Make sure to give your Tactic a good chance before changing. 10-15 games is a good guage, by that point you should have good relationships with players at least.
  12. No problem thanks for joining 😊 Yeah I've no issues with you trying the tactic. Not sure how it will work in the lower leagues at first but let me know how it works out.
  13. Season 15 I'd like to say we have kicked off this season as we do every other, but we haven't! The loss of Pelican has been a real hit to the squad, still playing well enough however not scoring near enough goals. We're still sitting top of the league but we've lost already which is disappointing. We're scraping wins and the fact we're so solid defensively is definitely helping. A resounding win away to closest challengers Rangers cements the fact we'll likely go on to win the league easily again. We were unable to continue our run of domestic cup trophies losing to Celtic in the SF in a close game which we didn't really turn up for. In the CL Group Stage we were given an incredibly tough group with last seasons winners and runners up! A loss against each of those and then a double header win against Slavia Prague means we're still in a good position to qualify but need to pick up a minimum of 4 points in our last 2 games. It's also been a disappointing campaign in the nations league for Scotland as we have failed to pick up any wins since our loss to Holland in the WC. In a group I'd be looking to win I'm not sure where to go from here. I may have to look at a different formation for the National team as relationships don't seem to form on the international stage.
  14. Squad Overview As I hit the half way mark through the 30 seasons and we're now at the top of Scottish Football and challenging on the European stage, I figured I'd show you my team and where the club is at A fairly solid profile I'd say, will try to implement more Scottish players to in reade my domestic player bias and improve the Scotland squad! The clubs is now a 5* club with the best facilities and a 60k capacity stadium. Nothing to improve on reputation wise. I like to think we have a decent trophy haul over the 14 seasons as well.
