Schwantz34 reacted to bb in 2-2-2-2-2 Goal-Fest TESTERS NEEDED
I chose the DLF to hold the ball up and press , the DF to run in behind but also produce some support in midfield, the 2 IFs to produce some width and make it look like 4 strikers when attacking but I didn't push them up to the max highest point to ensure there is midfield stability, the 2 BBMS to create an overload in the boxes when crossing and also provide midfield workrate, they also roam wide to create support for the wingbacks, basically they are everywhere, WBS for needed width, more tackles and crossing, CBs stay put which is needed in this tactic to ensure they dont roam wide like BPDs or Libero, if they roam there would be spaces in behind so they are there to stay, SK because of the high line and short passing.
Overload mentality to rush the attacks and make defensive interceptions effective, giving you more possession, narrow width to keep the defense compact even when it's overload, normal tempo and balanced creativity.
Balanced width to avoid too many counters but also not too deep, All over to press high and create more turnovers, Offside trap to make defenders intercept with every ball played over the top when the strikers and midfielders press.
Look for Overlap, to create better width
Work into box this is dependable*
Through balls to help feed the IFS and the DF
The goalkeeper distribution is also dependable and can be changed.
My test has gone quite well even when I have been very busy and playing in patches but as I said in the original post, top 4 is the target. I made 0 transfers and I used the original players and I would update with the complete season later on.
Snodgrass was a sniper from corners as well!!
The game against Man It's my players didn't know how to finish, I was so angry because I deserved more, DAMN YOU FELIPE ANDERSON FOR MISSING 3 DIFFERENT CLEAR CUT CHANCES!!

Looking good, I have used this player before, and he does do well in previous versions, maybe train him as a Target striker to improve his Arial as @BatiGoal suggested, otherwise another year should see him getting improved results, good luck
Schwantz34 reacted to Mike Dodgson in Attacking 433 - 4 Consecutive Promotions for Darlington
Not sure if anyone is reading this anymore, but here is another update.
Just finished my 2nd season in the Premiership with Darlington:
- 3rd in the League (Everton ran away with it on 91 points)
- Defeated in the F.A Cup Final (Everton)
- Defeated in the Champions League semi-final (Real Madrid, on away goals!)
- Defeated in the Carabao Cup semi-final (Everton!)
My board also stepped in and built us a new 45,000 stadium - Blackwell Meadows is no more and I insisted on the name 'Feethams' taking us back to the home we lost in 2003, which we had for over 100 years. We've George Reynolds to thank for that!
I've got in 2 experienced CB's, I rely too heavily on youth sometimes and noticed mistakes were common in my youthful CBs, so hopefully that will stop any silly goals.
A few of my top young players which are getting better and better:
I constantly have my scouts in areas on youth assignments to pick up potential stars. Any ones who are affordable and not already at big clubs, I get them as soon as I can and loan them out.
A small tip for people - if I'm playing a top team and winning or away from home and winning, I take off my Poacher and bring on a CB, move him to the middle CB position, change my mentality to Counter and set Time Wasting on. I've found this to be brilliant at protecting a lead. I normally set this from 80 minutes and can't remember conceding a goal.
Thanks to anyone reading
Schwantz34 reacted to Jsavfc in The Alan Shearer Challenge
This is my first challenge idea, hoping it gets a good reception - will give it ago myself shortly of course.
I have tried to create a challenge that is quite simply, easy if you like. Should give those, like myself who are not that tactically adept in the game to try something new and different - and most importantly have fun along the way.
Most of you know of Alan Shearer (i hope so anyway?!)
He is currently, the premier league's top goalscorer.
Rank Name Years Goals Apps Ratio 1 Alan Shearer 1992–2006 260 441 0.59 As you can see, 260 goals in 441 apperances.
Now, onto the challenge;
Take over a team in the Premier League Pick an English striker age 22 or under - Shearer was 22 when he made his PL debut. Score 261+ goals in as little appearances as you can Only goals scored under YOUR management will count - any previous league goals scored do not. It as simple as that. Try and beat his record!
Points will simply be the amount of games it took to beat the record (League games only)
Usual rules apply;
Own formations No reloaded, editor, cheating in any way No unlockables Any badge/rep allowed Only goals scored in Premier League games count Transfer in/out allowed. Screenshots required - player choice, player history - start a career thread so we can all follow progress! Leaderboard;
Schwantz34 reacted to Cockers2505 in Proven 4-2-2-2
Hi @Schwantz34 & @AndersJ thanks for all your questions and comments, there is no thoughts of anyone having a dig at me, sometimes these messages get taken the wrong way, I'm glad you guys have taken the time you read my thoughts on a good tactic that I know works, and I hope you get it to work for you if you need a 2 striker formation, i would simply add people can by all means use it if it works for them, I'm happy to help, it's all good
Schwantz34 got a reaction from Cockers2505 in Proven 4-2-2-2
Wasn't a dig at you at all. Was just pointing out others that don't take the time to make something themselves and want it done for them, even when there are tested tactics here clearly available. It doesn't work after four games and they start asking questions. It's not everyone because some genuinely struggle and want help, which is cool and you can tell who they are and I and others are happy to help if we can. You've built something up and clearly put time and effort into it and that's to be applauded in my book 👏
Schwantz34 got a reaction from BatiGoal in Proven 4-2-2-2
Your career thread was great I loved following that. Good of you to share any tactic mate.
There are lots of tactics that still work but too many people on here can't be bothered to either make one for themselves or put any time into trying anything out for themselves if they don't get instant success. So often I see the questions "does it work on the new update?" and "do you have to change anything?". A lot of people just want plug and play then just rush through season after season and that's just pointless to me but each to their own ha ha.
Keep up the good work!

Quick update after playing 10 games ... seems pretty solid at the back but struggling to score goals! Took over Leipzig and unfortunately lost Werner straight away due to release clause so who knows if it would have made a differnce, only player I brought in was his replacement and he has done okay but not getting any contribution from elsewhere, will stick with it and maybe tweak the forward roles to suit ... tbc
Schwantz34 reacted to Kreemzo in Best formation for Football Manager Mobile 2020
The Formation up there is pretty straightforward and works well.
The Formation tries to hold the ball well and retain possession well.
When you have the ball more, there's a higher chance u score more goals if you are direct and not wasteful.
It's a 4-5-1 or 4- 4-1-1 formation.
Your lone striker will be lonely and useless if he's not strong or your support striker or advance midfielder is not effective.
The two centre midfielders must be able to tackle well if you are playing a better opponent, and choose a "balanced" team mentality.
If you are playing a weaker opponent, feel free to choose an "attacking" team mentality.
