What would you like to see in FMM20?

I would like: Enhanced tactical options. Realistic tactics i.e. switching to contain does not suddenly make the team a goal machine. Smarter AI (with tactical decision making and squad management). Some kind of difficulty level or game setting for more experienced players. The ability to negotiate the squad status of any player that is sent out on loan. The option of accepting job offers which allow you to move at the end of the season. Your manager profile screen to show any clubs that are rumoured to be making an approach for you. Put a stop to the early retirements of world class (or international class) players. Brazilian, Argentinian and Scandinavian leagues.

    What leagues do you activate?

My standard setup = England, Italy, Spain, Germany. One of my most fun saves included the leagues of Russia and China. Currently I have England, Spain, USA and Portugal. I'm really enjoying the MLS.

    FMM19 General Discussion

I find the best thing you can do it to load up a career and just experiment. Don’t worry too much about trying to win things or find that winning tactic. Just spend a season getting to grips with the game. It will give you so much knowledge and insight that you will be better prepared when you are ready to start a career. Having said that, I wouldn’t want you to think I was being unhelpful so here’s my take on your questions. If I’m playing the English league then I like to also load Spain, Italy and Germany as this means you have the top four leagues in Europe and therefore the best pool of talent to play with. However, there are some really interesting leagues to play and a good example is the MLS. I think a mixture of senior and youth is good. One of the most fun things about FMM is finding wonderkids and developing your young talent into world class players. But the game does take into account experience and maturity so you wouldn’t want to neglect those older players too. I wouldn’t get fixated on age though. As long as the player has the attributes you need then don’t worry too much about their age. Players start to deteriorate from around 33 onwards (earlier if they don't play as many games). The attributes of a young player develop faster the more you play them in the team. I would renew a contract anytime from 7-12 months before it expires. If a contract falls into the final six months, there is a risk you could lose the player on a free transfer. Wages and the signing on fee is going to be dictated by the player. Just look at your finances to understand what your wage budget will be and keep that in mind when negotiating a new contract. The only advice I think is useful here is that if a player wants a wage that you cannot, or do not want to give then increasing the signing on fee might tempt them to sign a contract for less money then what they were asking for. Similarly, if a player wants a really high signing on fee but you can’t afford this, offering higher wages might persuade them to accept a smaller signing on fee. I wouldn’t worry too much about the star ratings. They're useful in that they act as a guide when comparing the player to players in your squad and they can be useful when trying to predict what the player’s potential ability will be. But star ratings should only be trusted if your scouts are of a high enough standard i.e. Silver or Gold Natural. Star ratings are also based on the player's form which means they can go up and down depending on how well they are playing. Anyway I tend to concentrate more on the attributes. Each role has a number of key attributes and providing those attributes are a high enough number, you will have yourself a really talented player.

You're going to have to explain this one to me because I thought a "mic drop moment" was when you respond to something in a triumphant way.

You don't need to keep my happy. You write whatever you want to write. I like your "SI poms poms" dig. And I admit, I have been a bit of a SI Cheerleader of late. But it's only because some of the criticism levelled at SI on here has been really harsh or just ridiculous. But that's just my opinion.

Realism is open to interpretation. You could argue that the PC version of FM is not realistic but I would say that for a mobile device, FMM is the most realistic football management sim available. Traits - as above. Coaches - they do something. I can go to my coach profile page and see which players are benefiting from my coaches training. You have no evidence for this.

    Winter Update

I think I would prefer to trust SI that these features do something rather than assume they do nothing just because I can't see any obvious evidence with my own eyes. There was also a thread about this on the official SI Forums: https://community.sigames.com/topic/471185-question-on-player-traits/?tab=comments#comment-11791903

You have to be realistic. Yes I would love SI to spend their whole time perfecting FMM but they won't make any money (and therefore guarantee long-term sustainability) if they don't develop new releases with added features and enhancements. They're a business first and foremost. These aren't buzz words. These are actual features of FMM. I have no idea what happened to the German licence though.

    Winter Update

I was a fan of the original winter update. I even complained to SI that they toned it down too much with subsequent tweaks. In hindsight, and having read the many differing opinions on this, I concede conditioning needed to be relaxed a little from the original update but I would still be a fan of it were it still in place. I agree that there are other bugs that are equally (or more) important but I know SI are a small team and have limited resources. I recall the conditioning issue being raised in FMM18 (and possibly FMM17) so maybe that had something to do with their decision making. I know. I know it was promoted as much as it could be but Vibe's impact is limited on something like this - especially when you compare the number of active Vibe members with the amount of people who actually downloaded FMM. but you're probably right, the game base is predominantly made up of casual players.

    Winter Update

I still don't understand the hate for it. I'm playing a great save in the MLS and one of the reasons I'm enjoying it so much is because of the conditioning update. I still find FMM19 very enjoyable but you are absolutely right to point this out. For all my defence of player conditioning, AI intelligence in FMM has to be improved and this is probably the biggest priority imho. I say this with respect but I think this is an overreaction. As far as I can ascertain, SI were simply responding to user feedback on how the majority of players were 100% fit all of the time (and btw I wasn't the one that started this on the official SI forums). I'm guessing that if SI receives feedback on one area of the game where they then agree it is an issue, they will roll out an update to fix it. I don't think there is anything disrespectful or untoward about doing this. It just happened to be an update on one area of the game that has divided opinion. I think people were either unaware of the poll or it wasn't a big enough issue for them to care about. Btw, the result of the poll was is about what I expected. I thought it would be around 60/40 in favour of the pre-winter update.

This is a forum and I'm here to debate. There are no hidden agendas. We aren't here to ruin your life! Exactly. This as well. The thing is @LenTheWelsh, there are members of Vibe who, when voicing their opinion, seem to be expressing it in a way that suggests they speak for the whole community - or even every FMM player.

Harry Kane. The guy is a machine when it comes to training (even training when he has time off) but I have often felt he should be rested (or rotated) more. The scenario above could be an example of this. This is just a theory I have but maybe in FMM, this means you have a player who wants to improve and push themselves to the limit but is also risking their fitness. The "needs a rest" could be a coaching judgement whereas the "wants a heavier training schedule" is a player request. It would be interesting to know what personality type they have i.e. are they a professional type?
  19. Lillywhite Dean

    Winter Update

His condition rating is 99% so he is fit to play. The whole "needs a rest" could be explained with a bit of context i.e. has he just come back from injury, or has he played a large number of games so far this season. I also see that his training schedule is intensive and the coach has pointed out that his Brown hasn't been training well lately. He might need a rest because you're working him too hard in training.

An unintended side effect and an excuse to suck the fun out of the game are completely different things. The former applies accident whilst the latter implies deliberate. And you should know by now that I believe real life is fun! But yes, this is a bugs thread so agree that we should just keep it that way.
  21. Lillywhite Dean

    Winter Update

Can you expand on this because I don't understand what you mean. Why would the developers look for a reason to the suck the fun out of FMM and then label it as 'realism' as an excuse for doing so?

Exactly. added 0 minutes later I'm in the Community and I'm not unhappy. Please remember that you don't speak for all FMM Players.

    Winter Update

Just had a look. From what I can gather, you played three games in 8 days and over half your team has a condition rating of under 90% going into the fourth match. I noticed you had some injuries too and obviously the player condition ratings at the end of the third match are low i.e. in 60-70% range. Because it's National League level and therefore facilities will be rubbish, coaching will be poor and individual player stamina attributes will be average at best, I can understand why SI would set conditioning to be harshly impacted at this level. But to answer your question, no I don't think players should be suffering heavily with their fitness having only played three games of the season. I'm interested in starting a career at this level to see how my experience plays out.
