Colin?!?! Colin?!?! I haven't seen you in five years then you just come waltzing out here as a reporter?! I know for the first 18 years of your life I was too busy managing the mighty Rangers to world domination and that I didn't know you existed until you turned up for training but a "hey dad" would have been nice! I turned you into a Rangers legend alongside the great Callum Patterson yet this is how I'm repaid? Domingo Sale at least stays in touch!

Wow! I'm incredibly happy reading this post @Foxy! This save and especially the GaM really caught my imagination and I'm delighted you got it across the line! I'll admit I didn't think you'd pull it off but the FMM God's were on your side in your final season!
It's mad that a mere 90 goals can somewhat overshadow your striker scoring well over 1200 goals! Yet that's what I love about Vibe as you never know what will connect with you, I've enjoyed every aspect of this career and smashing the 1kc is no easy feat!
I've doubted and believed at plenty of points along this journey and this is the first career in a long time that really captured that old magic for me, and the best part? You get to pass the torch to your son so he can now embark on his own journey! Who knew Foxy would be bringing the circle of life to Vibes career threads!
The only thing left to say is congratulations!

Thanks for all the comments lads and it turns out that 70 was a better total than I thought. Basically at some point during the Teutonic Treble I have lost track of the seasons and I thought I had played one extra season then I actually have. It came to light when Arp and Leon retired and it said they had completed an incredible 18 seasons at the club.
This alters the maths a bit as it means I have 12 seasons left to play and that I need 65 goals a season to get to the 1k😆

The same for me it was a massive struggle keeping hold of Goretzka, Amiri and Arp in my save because they kept refusing to resign until the last minute and in fact I had to buy Amiri back at one point to carry on his challenge.

The one challenge on here I love the most is created by @Foxy - it’s the One Season Strikerless Challenge:
I think we all know the rules: you don’t have any strikers and three selected attacking midfielders get your points. You grab those precious points from league points, goal difference, overall goals, and overall assists.
This time I opted with Celtic with my main target to beat my previous score of 368 and hopefully crack 400.
The players I went with were:

Scarpa is one of my faves this year. He is so reliable and such good value for money.

Sinclair was already at the club and filled my criteria. I never considered him before, but his stats are much better than expected.
For the third spot I used our Olympic Challenge favourite.

Del Boy’s brother Rodney came in.
I forgot to screenshot the transfers and will go back and grab them if required. Reynoso, Zaracho, Rajkovic, and the boys were my main signings. Tierney, Dembele, and another striker who I’ve forgotten left.
The season pretty much went as expected, except we drew more than I had hoped, mostly because the second half of the season had a lot of crap player conditioning.

    We bagged 122 league goals.

And a goal difference of 70. The league points were 93. 163 league points towards the total then. I’d hoped for nearer 200. Room for improvement there!
But when you add in the cups, we hit a total of 222 goals.

Worth noting we made a net profit on transfers too, which I didn’t notice until after and could have helped with squad conditioning. We came third in our CL group too, sending us in to the UEFA Cup, which I was more than pleased with. We did have this result in the CL.

We had a few injuries along the way:

The double whammy in Oct really annoyed me, but that’s the game sadly. Sinclair’s was immediately after his goals in the Porto game. Zaracho also got injured in March too and that was a massive blow.
So, we got 163 league points. What goals and assists could the boys get?

Roddy got an excellent 73 points. Sadly his average rating wasn’t 10 😭
    236 points so far.

Scarpa got 68. I love this guy!
304 points now. Sinclair was on pens and free kicks, so let’s look at him:

84 from Scotty! He was superb.
That’s 388 points, which beats my previous total. I didn’t smash the 400 mark, which was annoying. But injuries are a part of this wonderful, but annoying, game was play.
    Thanks for reading!

I would love to see the Greek league in the game as the more diversity of leagues the better. In the end FMM is never going to have as many leagues as the PC version and so they will never please everyone.
As for the leagues you mentioned Wales and Ireland are in despite being low level so that all the UK is available to play as FMM is a UK made game. MLS has some big name players in the league now and I think the likes of Rooney and Zlatan will make that a popular place for a save next year and also the fact that the USA is a huge games market. FMM is very popular is South Korea and although they aren't very active on the site we have a lot of Korean members and it is one of the stronger Asian leagues which adds more diversity.

It all comes down to this, one last season for Leon to get a goal in the 56th minute of a game and he will have completed the Goal a Minute challenge. He is 40 now and I won’t be asking him to reconsider his retirement whatever happens this year.
Last season saw the retirement of Amiri as he finished 5 assists short of 600 on 595 which as it stands is the top score on the assists challenge leaderboard or at least until someone comes along and beats it.
We will check in with Arp first before we get to the main event.
    Arp 1KC
This season will be Arp’s last at the club as well. With his contract expiring, his attributes dropping fast and the fact he hardly plays any more I think it is time for him to call it a day at least at Atletico.
Just the 5 goals this year from 18 appearances all from the bench and no fairy tail ending like Amiri last year who scored in the Champions League final in his last appearance. Unfortunately he got an injury that ended his season.
So a bit of an anti-climax for Arp in this save but 1209 goals from 1050 appearances isn’t bad and I’m sure that without the emergence of Foxy Jr he would have just about got the 1.5k as well.
Arp will go down as an all time legend for me as he is my first 1Ker and he did it with style as well. On top of that he also got my first ever 100 goal season and when you add in the 179 assists he got he was involved in 1388 goals for the team.

    Goretzka GaM
    This is it then.
Last season Leon missed 5 months of the season with injuries but just managed to sneak in a time in the last game of the season. This year he was a little luckier with injuries but he still suffered as he missed about 3 and half months of the season.
He played 9 more games than last year and the best thing about that final injury was that it made absolutely no difference because…
HE ONLY WENT AND FUCKING DID IT!!!!!

Honestly I nearly fell of my chair when that goal went in and in the excitement I never took him off meaning that Foxy Jr missed the chance to score a penalty in the final minute as I never took Leon off.

I honestly never thought I would complete this challenge and certainly not with a midfielder. I believe this might be the first GaM that has been completed by a midfielder in Vibe history but even if it isn’t I don’t care all that matters is I did it. Yes this has been a frustrating journey as he kept getting duplicate times and also a good number of injuries, he never manged to play 1000 games unlike Arp, but when that goal went in the sense of achievement made it all worth it. Thanks to @Ashez for recommending the challenge to me😀
In terms of shear numbers Arp and Amiri outshone Leon but he has been the heartbeat of this team for 17 of the 19 seasons this career has lasted with only the last 2 years seeing him take a back seat role more. The numbers look pretty good to me as well with 332 goals and 258 assists and a whole host of wards and trophies.

Like Amiri, Leon went out with a bang with a goal in the Champions League final with his final touch of a football in anger as well. I brought him on in extra-time because my AP was knackered and I had no one else to use for that role off the bench
In the final minute from a corner….

The perfect way to end his career.
Time has taken its toll on him though and I think it is time he put his feet up on a beach somewhere and enjoyed his retirement.

Most of all I want to thank everyone who has commented and given me the motivation to keep plugging away at this career as it would have been so easy for me to have sacked it off when Arp got the 1k or Amiri the top assists total but you guys really kept me going and pushing for those final times.

    Rules
Please make sure you keep these in mind throughout the tournament as nobody likes avoidable disqualifications.
To keep things equal all challenges last 1 season and will need to be played on Enhanced Match Engine (EME). Each challenge comes with a deadline, and each deadline comes with no extensions. No entry -> No points. Every manager must provide evidence using screenshots. As the rule above, No screenshots -> No points. No unlockables and no coaching badges. If suspicions arise, you will be asked to submit your save for inspection. No holidaying, a screenshot of manager profile after each challenge is required. No cheating and no use of any editor at all. Own tactics only. Send your results via PM with both samhardy and anfieldsquirrel/Ashez included in it. Have fun! This year's edition will run similarly, but not identically, to last year. Here's the format this time around:
8 of the members who have signed up will join the 4 top seeds in the group stages. Each group will have 3 members with the top two progressing to the Quarter Finals. Before that, the qualifying round will take place. The top 8 from qualifying will qualify for the group stage, with the rest falling at the first hurdle. Results in qualifying will be used to find the second and third seeds for the group stage. Then it's group winner v group runner up in the Quarter Finals, drawn randomly, followed by a free draw from the semis onwards. League points will always be used as a tie break in challenges unless otherwise stated.
Comment below or PM me if you wish to join. I’ve already included the people who have signed up in the schedule thread or elsewhere on vibe. Registrations close Sunday 19th August 5PM GMT.
Please only enter if you intend to submit results throughout the competition. Each year we have people join up then do a disappearing act.
    Thank you and good luck.

Foxy got a reaction from Ashez in The Price Debate
We now know that FMM19 will be released on Friday 2nd November and that it will likely cost the same as last year at £8.99 or 9.99 euro. The price the game costs is often up for debate here on Vibe in the lead up to a new release and I thought I would just jot down a few of my thoughts on the issue.
One thing to get out the way early is that there are ways to save money on the game if you act quickly by signing up to some of the questionnaire apps that are available and give you credit to spent in the app stores. I have been using the Google Opinion Rewards app since the beginning of September last year and over that time I have earned £10.52 for answering 69 surveys (a bit more than 1 a week) so that is about 15p a time which doesn’t sound much but most surveys take about 30 secs to complete and as it stands FMM19 is going to cost me about £1 as I have spent some of that credit already. You can get similar apps for iOS as well and I think it is something worth looking into as even though you may not save a massive amount before FMM19’s release anything is better than nothing.
I think one point that can often be missed is the fact that at least in my opinion anyway FMM19 is a true computer game and not just an app which may sound obvious but I often see people describe FMM as an app. It is far more detailed and immersive than your standard mobile game and so I don’t think it can be put in the same bracket as something that is free to download or costs a few pence. We are all used to going onto the app store and downloading an app for free or for a few pence and a lot of mobile “games” work on a freemium model. That means you can download it for free but to progress in the game quickly you need to spend money on extras that may otherwise take hours to unlock and without them you are stuck waiting to continue the game. FMM is different in that almost all aspects of the game are available from the off and you can play as long as you want without needing to wait to earn coins etc, we can also start in any of the leagues and with any club we wish straight off without any extra payment. The exception is international football which takes a bit more effort or 99p to unlock but things like sugar daddy, no loan restrictions etc can be unlocked after a few hours of play especially if you start with one of the easier teams to manage. If you compare FMM to its PC big brother it is only the fact you can’t start in international management without unlocking or paying that is the difference although FM does come with a free PGE so you can give your chosen club a sugar daddy that way of you wish.
That isn’t to say SI aren’t trying to squeeze a few more £££ out of us all with a myriad of extras or shortcuts that can be purchased, some which save you time in the game such as sugar daddy or a tutor to help a coach pass his exam first time and some which add new in game scenario’s and of course the IGE. I believe the complete package of extras and unlockables comes in at around £15.99 but in the end it’s your choice if you want to pay that or not. One area I feel SI could be a little more generous though is the IGE as they are asking the same price for that as the full game costs! Personally I have no interest in editing my saves unless it is for an experiment but I know that for many people they do like to use the editor for whatever reason and with the create a club feature being pretty basic I can see the appeal if you wish to make a club of your own with perhaps your mates in the team. To charge the same price as the game though seems crazy to me and unless the price has changed it is more expensive then the IGE that can be bought for the PC version which to me makes no sense. I think that at the moment SI have the balance right with the unlockables and I would hate to see them add many more especially extra leagues which need to be unlocked or payed for as I think all teams and leagues should be available straight away.
The other big bug bear for many of us is that we are asked to pay £8.99 for a product that if it follows the last few years is essentially unfinished and will likely need a couple of updates to fix problems in the game within the first few weeks of release. Just take a look at our bug reporting thread and you can see the myriad of problems that this year’s game has had and in some cases still has. It is hugely frustrating but I think we have to look at were we are in the list of priorities for SI. FMM19 will cost £8.99, FM Touch 19 will be £21.99 on Steam and the full game is listed with a pre purchase 10% discount on Steam at £34.19. The PC version will far out sell any other version and bring in much more money so that is always going to get the most development time with a big team working on it and of course FMT is essentially the same game so much of the development overlaps with the full game and now it is on Switch probably sells very well too. That leaves FMM at the bottom of the pile and will have a much smaller team working on the game and a much shorter development time which shouldn’t excuse a buggy release but at least goes some way to explaining why it happens.
The one thing that will ultimately lead me to buying the game again is that for all its faults I love it and I get far more than my moneys worth out of it and in no small part thanks to Vibe. If I go to the game status page on my current Atletico save I can see just how much value for money I have got by looking at the game time.

You need to take that figure with a pinch of salt as I have a tendency to leave the game loaded on my tablet and going off for an hour or so and doing something else but still if you half that it is still only 6p an hour or 9p if it is quartered. This isn’t the only save I have had with my DT that lasted 8 seasons and then test saves, saves for articles and various short Vibe challenges I have essentially got the game for nothing when you consider the amount of time I have put into it and despite a few bugs and areas of the game that could have just a little more depth I have loved it and will be back for more next year.
This is just my thoughts but I would love to hear from you guys. Will you buy the game next year or do you feel the game doesn’t offer you value for money these days and you may give it a miss? You can also vote on the polls below.
    Cheers lads.

Foxy reacted to Nucleus in Tactical Showpiece - Episode Two - Max Meyer
Hello Vibe, and welcome to Epsiode Two of my Vibe exclusive Tactical Showpiece series where I will be showcasing the newest talent to arrive in the Premier League and one’s who I think will feature prominently in FMM19. If you haven’t seen episode one yet I highly suggest you give that a read here - Tactical Showpiece - Episode One
So as you may have guessed, the new premier league star I will be focusing on in this episode is none other than former Schalke & Germany man Max Meyer, who has recently signed for south London side Crystal Palace in what could be seen as the coup of the season. That’s right, Crystal Palace got their man on a free transfer from the German side after he let his contract run down after a dispute with Schalke’s sporting director Christian Heidel which consequently left him out of training for the remainder of the 17-18 season.
As FMM18 starts a year ago, none of this has happened in game so I obviously had to go out and buy Meyer for Palace myself, and it proved a tricky transfer to pull off for the Eagles. An initial bid of £35million was enough for Schalke, but it wasn’t enough to convince Meyer himself to sign. In the end I opted to switch on Sugar Daddy so I could offer him what he wanted financially to sign for the club, a £190,000 per week in fact! What a money grabbing little ba***rd! But we’ve got our man either way, and I could get the experiment under way...

In terms of Palace quality players he looks a quality player, with 14 in dribbling and Passing, 15 in Creativity and 18 in Technique along with a plethora of other decent attributes. In real life Schalke manager Domenico Tedesco started to deploy Meyer more as a Deep Lying Playmaker as he felt the positional change better suited his qualities. I disagree, and I will be playing him as an Advanced Playmaker in the centre of the park.

Deployed on the left side of a 4-3-2-1, he would also be taking all set-pieces this season, as I felt that with his technique, creativity and eye for goal it would benefit the team massively.
Let’s now fast forward to the end of the season to see just how Crystal Palace, and more importantly Max Meyer got on. Well it was a fantastic season all around for Palace, as they finished up in 5th placed in the league with a more than respectable 67 points. They were the leagues top scorers with 79 Goals and would next season be playing European Football. In the end, too many draws saw them miss out on the Champions League spots.

As for Max Meyer, he too had a fantastic season for the club and ended up winning the league’s Young Player of the Year award whilst also winning the Footballer of the Year award.

He was the league’s top assister, beating the likes of Juan Mata and Kevin De Bruyne to take the top spot with 18 assists. He also had the best average rating for the whole league, narrowly beating out teammate Wilfried Zaha to take top spot with an Average Rating of 7.70

As for his development, well he looks a much better player than when he first arrived at Selhurst Park. 18 in Dribbling and Passing, a full 20 in Technique, 16 and 17 in Creativity and Decisions respectively with his Movement and Teamwork also up to 15, couple all this with his 15 in stamina and he looks a world class midfielder with plenty of room to grow further. He managed 40 games throughout the season, scoring 12 goals and assisting a further 18. A very very successful signing in my opinion.

So Vibe, have Palace pulled off the coup of the summer? Will Max Meyer live up to his potential at the South side of London or will he just be another one of those players who never lives up to his original hype? Let me know in the comments below what you think.

    Thanks For Reading

    Amiri Update
It seems that life in Leicester didn't suit Nadiem as I just went to try another offer for him and he has disappeared so I can only assume he has retired after only a few weeks in Gary Lineker land. He no longer appears in a search for the name Amiri and he is greyed out in my all time XI.
So that is it he finishes on 595 assists for his career. It's a bit of an anti-climax way for his career to end really but at least his last contribution for the club and football in general was a goal in the Champions League final and I'm glad he never played for another team after us.
595 is a great total for the challenge although it would have been lush to have got those final 5 assists but never mind it clearly wasn't to be.

So it's time to raise a glass and say cheers to my assists king.

Wow...a last season 'will he do it' scenario!
Leon has been awesome and if he doesnt get that last one it will be bitter sweet.
Fantastic work, the assists and Arps journey to 1.5k has been a brilliant read to follow.
Good luck on the finale mate. 😆
