  1. Gabby is already an established player. At 25 years of age, he doesn't have much scope to development. But he is a great all around striker, and can fit in virtually any system or attacking role. He starts at Aston Villa, and to take him from them is rather hard. If you're in a rich club like Man City, you would probably have to pay around £17M to get him - plus a superstar salary. But be sure that he will perform at the highest standard. These are his stats at the beginning of the game: That's how he looks like 4 years later, without any special training: Marked improvements in his stamina, strength, teamwork, heading, shooting and technique. Not bad. I've used him for one season only, in my Caretaker Challenge. These were his stats (no forced attempts to make him the top scorer). He finished as the league top scorer and won Premier League player of the year, ahead of all other superstars. I've played him mostly as an advanced forward, but many times I have used him as a left inside forward. He was class anyhow. I strongly recommend him for big clubs, in a game where you might be wanting to play around with tactics and roles. His all-around stats adapt very well to any of the main offensive roles, and this versatility is very useful when trying to fine tune a tactic. Overall, he is expensive, but a sure bet. He will always perform to a high standard.
  2. Just tried this out for my most recent season in my 8 season challenge career. I previously had a 4-3-1-2 with wingers, but I seemed to be leaking goals. Also, the way my squad was built, I had an excess of center midfielders so I decided to use that to my advantage. Results so far have been absolutely stunning. As a League 1 side, I won the Capital One Cup, beating no less than 5 EPL teams on the way, including Manchester City in the Final. My only loss on the season was a 2-1 defeat by that same Man City team in the FA Cup Quarters after taking down another 2 EPL sides along the way. I went 46-3-0 in the league with the draws only coming in January and March when I had 9 fixtures in each month. Without further ado, the Narrow Diamond 4-4-2 Player Tactical Roles Team Instrucions: The basic premise is since there are numbers packed into the center of the park, the short passing allows for lots of opportunities and possession. Wingbacks provide the width in the attack. The BWM and DLM give a great anchor for the defense and provide cover so very few goals are scored. The main scorers are the Pcr, TM, APM, and the BBM also comes up with a lot of clutch goals. I would also like to try this formation with a Trq instead of a target man in the future as I think it suits the style better, but my team doesn't have anyone who can fill that role right now. It might work better with a TM anyway, but the lack of long balls up the pitch make me think that a Trq would provide better service and integrate better with the Pcr than the TM does. Although the redundancy of the APM and Trq might prove a disadvantage. I'll have to test that later. Let me know what you think. Not a formation for a 1000 goal challenge or anything, but this is really solid in both attack and defense. I had goals contributed from every single position on the pitch during my L1 season. I'll post championship and premiereship results as I get them if I don't change formations.
  3. Introduction It has been a very long time since I have published any decent content here! But I would like to start my sharing my FMH13 experience with a very solid tactic I have created. During FMH12 times, many tried to create good tactics using wide attacking midfielders. Some managed, but the overwhelming majority of great tactics were very narrow - normally these types: 4-3-2-1, 4-3-3 and 4-3-1-2. Hopefully this unbalance seems to be fixed on FMH13. And I finally could play with my favourite real life formation - a fun, attacking, free flowing 4-2-3-1! Team Instructions My team instructions assume that you have a decent eye for signings, and will be able to have a competitive team. Taking this into account, you should aim for the following settings: Attacking - as that's how 9 out of 10 FMH fans like to play it! Mixed - Barcelona fans can opt for short, Real Madrid fans can try direct. I like to mix and match! Committed - My experience shows that the number of cards will not be much higher, but your defence will be way more solid Pressing - On, as you can't afford to give your opponent space in modern football. Can be disabled if the team is too tired. Offside trap - On, as it will push your defence line forward, giving less space for your opponent to play - a perfect match for high pressure game! Counter Attack - Off, so you take the initiative to control the game Men Behind the Ball - Off, it doesn't match this tactic at all. Remember, if you will face a *much* better opponent (think semi-pro versus Champions League semi-finalist), do not expect to try and control the game. But these settings will work well against most opponents you can face in a league. Player Roles I built the roles around the 4 most attacking players in the team. I had a very precise idea of how I wanted them to operate. DL - Wing Back DR - Wing Back DC - Central Defender DC - Central Defender MC - Central Midfielder MC - Central Midfielder AMR - Inside Forward AML - Inside Forward AMC - Advanced Playmaker FC - Advanced Forward The idea is to have one guy upfront, that will try to score either using his physique (Target Man style) or his opportunism (Poacher style). I opted for Advanced Forward as it is a more flexible role, but still forces the striker to stay upfront most of the time - no attempts to lie deep. Our hitman will often have company from the Inside Forwards. These guys will cut from outside, and turn a feeble one man attack into a fearsome 3-men partnership. They also may opt to stay wide and cross into the area. If the wide play is not working, there is always the option to use our playmaker. His free role allows him to start plays from a bit deeper, or to run inside the area and partner our striker in attacking moves. He will be supported by two balanced central midfielders. These guys should be able to defend and attack comfortably. It's not unusual for them to run towards the area and surprise the opposition's defenders. When our Inside Forwards cut inwards and operate more centrally, the width will come from our wing backs. They need good stamina to last 90 minutes, but will definitely supply many assists. They should be able to defend well too. And to finish, two basic central defenders. The team is already tipped towards attacking flair, and there's no need for these guys to be ball-playing masters. -- For information about which attributes your players should have, please have a look at Dec's excellent article! -- Some Results and Final Remarks --- EDIT --- I'm using this tactic with success in my Caretaker Challenge Career. --- /EDIT --- I have been playing a wacky career - surprise, surprise - and it's not really adequate to show what this tactic can do. But still I'm proud of what I have managed. First season I started with Distillery in Northern Ireland. I just switched to my 4-2-3-1 halfway through the season (results were very crappy before). That's how the season ended: I was quite happy, as the board expected me to fight relegation. And I also won all other competitions: Second season I was offered a job at Glentoran. This time I used my tactic all the way through the season. I could have easily surpassed the 100-point mark if I didn't start playing my worst team after winning the league with several rounds in advance. We won the treble again, in style Well, that's all I have for now! I hope to get some of you guys testing and posting your results here Thanks for reading!
  4. Prasant's 4-3-1-2 Intro I created this tactic for my "Double Trouble" career specifically for the purposes of maximizing the number of goals scored by the two strikers in the tactic. Since then, I have tested it out further and have been genuinely surprised at how well it has worked for me in other situations. Therefore, I have decided to post it here on Vibe for everyone to try out! Player Roles: Team Instructions: Team Mentality ~ Attacking Passing Style ~ Direct Tackling ~ Normal Pressing ~ Yes Offside Trap ~ Yes Men Behind Ball ~ No Counter Attack ~ No Tactic Mechanics: Wing Backs ~ The two Wing Backs provide much needed width to an otherwise narrow formation. They require solid Crossing, Dribbling and Stamina in addition to the usual defensive stats. Examples are Kyle Walker or Marcelo Centre Backs ~ The two Centre Backs are the anchors of the team. They are the ones who camp in their own half and prevent the opposition's attackers from scoring goals. They require solid Tackling, Positioning, Heading, Decisions and Strength. Examples are John Terry and Nemanja Vidic Ball Winning Midfielder ~ The Ball Winning Midfielder sits just in front of the back four and prevents the opposition from building an attack. He hassles and harries and in general, wins the back. He requires solid Tackling, Positioning, Decisions and Strength. Examples are Scotty Parker and Cheik Tiote Box-to-Box Midfielder ~ The Box-to-Box Midfielder does exactly what his name suggests. Contributing to both defense and attack, this dynamic player needs to have great all around stats as well as high Stamina. Examples are Ramires and Sami Khedira Advanced Playmaker ~ The Advanced Playmaker is the brains of the team. He creates the chances for the strikers and is the focal point of the team. Solid stats in Dribbling, Passing, Technique, Decisions & Creativity are a neccesity. Examples are Joao Moutinho and Toni Kroos Inside Forward ~ The Inside Forward is the player who can make a goal out of nothing. Cutting in from the wing, this player can often change matches by picking out a pass or unleashing a thunderbolt. Solid stats in Dribbling, Technique, Pace & Shooting are needed. Example are Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale Poacher ~ The Fox in the Box or the Poacher is the man who will get the brunt of the goals in your side. He is the player who is constantly looking for an opportunity to make that run and beat the defence. Solid Stats in Shooting, Pace, Movement and Decisions are necessary. Example are Javier Hernandez and Adam LeFondre Complete Forward ~ Perhaps the most important player in your team, the Complete Forward is the gel that holds your team's attack together. Capable of creating chances as well as taking them he can change games in a blink of an eye. Solid stats in Heading, Shooting, Pace, Strength, Movement & Decisions are a must. Examples are Edinson Cavani and Fernando Llorente Results I tested out the tactic in three different leagues. Here are the results: England - Tottenham Hotspur More Results Italy - Napoli More Results Holland - Ajax Clickey! ~ Refer to Seasons 9-11 If anyone cares to give it a go, I'd definitely love to hear how it goes! -MM96
  5. Hi guys, I am here to introduce to you my best tactic so far. It has great attacking prowess with the teams I've tested it with. It is actually a variant from an older tactic I had. This is actually ridiculous how this tactic worked a lot better with stoke rather than Liverpool even though I think they are the bigger club. When testing this with Soke especially I can guarantee at least 25 wins, its that good. The tactic I a standard Narrow 41212 meaning the team I extremely close together. There is a good link between defence attack and midfield and tactics along three lines have been more successful. Not wasting much time here's the tactic: There are wing backs to produe width in attacks and these are key players in the team. I wanted to see how this performs against all the big guns like 4132 and 4411 which for me are the hardest formations to beat. In about April time I beat Tottenham and MUFC using 4132 and 4411 conservatively . I assume like most tactic do this take time for the team to get used to it. I have had success with this at Liverpool winning the PL and Community shield Liverpool PL table: Stoke City: this isn't the very best team in England but my testing made tactic made them look far better than Liverpool! We manage to beat all the big guns, won the league by a mile and also went THE ENTIRE SEASON UNDEFEATED and IN ALL COMPETITIONS. another highlights was beating Real Madrid in the Euro cup. At the the end of the season we had 205 goals for and just 36 against in 70 matches. We also scored a remarkable 92 goal in the league and a goal difference of 70 goals Achievements: Won FA cup League cup Euro cup Premier league Results Comments are always welcome. Hope this works for you
