  1. And Cardiff City have taken Liverpool to penalties in this enormous game for the club! We have played over 120 minutes, now, and the Welsh club are ten kicks away from an amazing victory, or a painful defeat! And it's Anthony Gerrard to step up for Cardiff, the cousin of Liverpool skipper Steven, he brings his foot back and is about to kick the ball... The aim of this challenge is to win both major English cups (The FA Cup and Capital One Cup) in one season. Simple, eh? No, because there's a catch, as always! You have to win both cups in one season, with a club outside the Premier League: so no United, no Arsenal, no City! This challenge is just for fun, so there is no leaderboard, and no rules regarding preferences and unlockables. However, I would recommend you don't do it with sugar daddy, as that just makes it much easier! Again, I would recommend you turn on Attribute Masking if you think you are good enough at FMH, but it's not compulsory! So, to summarise: Win The FA Cup and Capital One Cup in one season. Your team must be outside the Premier League when you win it. There are no restrictions regarding preferences and unlockables; nor a leadboard. All that's left now is for me to wish you luck, and I also hope you'll enjoy this challenge!
  2. Sandro Rosell, the current Barcelona president, has shocked the footballing world by announcing that Barça will be selling off all defender in order to play a more fluid and possession-based system. He has told the current manager, Tito Vilanova, that he expects all defenders gone by the end of the current transfer window, and that the team must only contain goalkeepers, midfielders and strikers... I'm back, with yet another challenge! This one, as you might as guessed, is about playing without defenders. Although I haven't used Barcelona as the example, you can manage any team you like, and your aim is to avoid the sack but you can only field goalkeepers, midfielders and strikers. This means that any defenders must be sold, and none can be signed again, as well as any other midfielders or strikers who are green in any of the defensive positions (the best they can be in defensive is competent). This means you can't have any players who are accomplished or natural in the following positions: sweeper, centre back, full back or wing back. I have said that you can manage any team you like, as it will be a challenge with any team: although better teams have better players, they also have higher expectations: you may want to bear that in mind! This challenge is really just for fun, so I won't add a leaderboard. Feel free to use any settings you wish to, but if you really want to challenge yourself, choose a poor team with high expectations, turn all unlockables off and turn Attribute Masking on! I hope you have fun whilst doing this challenge, yes I know it's quite hard, but it is a challenge after all! Good luck and have fun with this!
  3. Hello world! I love Football Manager Handheld and this site looks amazing, so I signed up pronto! I'm looking forward to reading about how to improve my FMH playing and posting (hopefully regularly), so hey guys!
  4. I'd like to thank Keraviln for the inspiration behind my idea for this challenge, due to him create this thread. Although this challenge was inspired by someone else, the challenge itself is completely original. Breaking news coming from Fratton Park here, as it is revealed that, due to their financial difficulties, Portsmouth F.C. have had to release and sell ALL of their first team players in order to stay afloat. The club's crisis also means that they can no longer attract any well-known managers, and are desperate for ANY manager before the season starts. We will be covering the story as it unfolds... So, the challenge. Well, as you might have guessed, your challenge is to take control of a Portsmouth team in crisis, and get rid of all real players at the club. If you don't manage to get rid of them in time, you must place them in your reserves and they can't play any games for your club: friendlies or competitive! To replace all the outbound players, you can only sign players from inside your club, the new grey players! Of course, as they are not available on PSP or PS Vita, you can only do this challenge on an iOS or Android device. You have five seasons to achieve what you can with the club, and you are not allowed to sign any external players at the club at any point during the five seasons. Therefore, you must rely on grey players to do the job for you! I understand this is an extremely hard challenge, as you have to meet the board's expectations with a poor quality squad, but I think the best of FMH players will be able to stay in the job for the duration, and it gets easier as your grey players improve and as you get more and more grey players available to sign. You must load up the game up with the following settings/leagues: Unlockables: Off Attribute Masking: On Quick Start: On Database: Official Leagues: England The scoring system is based on the number of points you accumulate in your first five seasons at the club (yep, I have literally listed all of the possible competitions): FIFA Club World Cup: 250 points UEFA Champions League: 500 points UEFA Europa League: 200 points UEFA Super Cup: 50 points Barclays Premier League: 250 points nPower Championship: 100 points nPower League One: 50 points nPower league Two: 25 points Blue Square Bet Premier: 10 points Blue Square Bet North/South: 5 points The FA Cup: 150 points Capital One Cup: 100 points Johnstone's Paint Trophy: 50 points FA Trophy: 10 points There is a leaderboard for this challenge, so please post your manager profile, league tables (for every season), any cup finals, your preferences (in-game and on the main menu) and your team and reserve team every season (with the view showing appearances) if you would like to be added to the leaderboard! I have to admit, I haven't actually tried this challenge myself yet, but I will soon and let you know how I get on. Good luck with this challenge, and thanks for reading! Leaderboard: 1st: N/A ---------- 2nd: N/A 3rd: N/A
  5. I actually haven't seen a thread/topic about this about, so I think it would be useful to have one. Basically, this thread is for people to share their contact details with other members of the community, if they wish to, so people can contact each other outside of FMHVibe too! I personally feel that the site has a fantastic community and member-base, and I am willing to share some of my social networking/contact details: Gmail: PM me if you would like it, and I may give it to you. Skype: Again, PM me. Twitter: @MisterZhifei (anyone feel free to follow me!) If any staff/moderators feel this thread shouldn't be here, due to there being another place for this discussion to take place, I will happy allow this thread to be removed. However, as I said, I couldn't find another appropriate place to discuss this, so I thought this thread would be revelant.
  6. Roman Abramovich has yet again sacked another manager, this time it is Roberto Di Matteo who gets the sack. Chelsea had gone on a barren spell in which they had gone winless for a massive 7 consecutive Premier League games, and not even Di Matteo's legendary status at the club, and the fact he brought the Champions League trophy to Stamford Bridge, could save his job. This means whoever is appointed to replace the Italian will be the ninth manager under Uncle Roman in 8 years, and the current bookie's favourite for the job is Pep Guardiola, with Abramovich expressing an interest in tempting the former Barcelona manager out of his break from management with a lucrative contract. The aim of this challenge is for you to take charge of Chelsea, and satisfy Abramovich by winning all competitions available to you in your first year. So, you must win the FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, Barclays Premier League, The FA Cup, Capital One Cup and Community Shield - all in your first season! Game settings are as follows: Unlockables: Off Leagues: England Any other settings are optional, although if you do it with Attribute Masking on, you get bonus points: so don't forget to mention it when you post your results! Please post screenshots as evidence if you want to be added to the leaderboard (I will need screenshots of the league table, the final of every cup competition, your manager profile and preferences: both in-game and on the main menu)! So to summarise, you need to win everything in your first season as Chelsea manager, with no unlockables and only the English leagues loaded. Remember to post screenshots with your results, and I will add you to the leaderboard! Good luck! Leaderboard: 1st: N/A ---------- 2nd: N/A 3rd: N/A
  7. As you may have seen on other FM sites, there are often threads like this for general team discussion, and for people to ask for suggestions on who to manage, if they are bored of their current save. I thought it would be a good idea to create a thread like this, so that people can ask about teams others found interesting to manage, and provide healthy discussion on the perks and drawbacks of managing certain teams. Before you post, you might want to check out these links for inspiration (feel free to post/PM me if you have any links you think are worth me putting up): Teams and Leagues guides Challenges Careers Top 10 most exciting clubs for FMH2013 FMH2013 Premier League preview Basically, if you have any suggestions of any teams you have managed and that you have found fun, please post below! If you find your current save tedious, and you want an exciting new challenge, feel free to reply too, but remember, the more information about what kind of team you want to be, the better! Have fun managing!
