Help Demote to reserves until match fit is greyed out/locked

Hello. I’m playing as Weymouth in the VNL. When I select Move to Reserves for a player there are three options: Demote, Next match, or Until Match Fit. Until Match Fit is greyed out and has a lock icon. Any idea on how to unlock this option?

The match fit in the "Until match fit" means due to injury, not the lack of match sharpness that results from lack of game time.

You'll just have to demote him manually, bring him up from the reserves and check the medical center again. Troublesome, I know.
