  1. Devil's guide to starting challenges So for my first guide in a while, I thought of a guide on how to start off some of the most popular challenges on Vibe! There will be 1 part for each challenge I do. Number 1: The 1000 goal challenge In this challenge, the aim is to score one thousand goals with one player in the least amount of seasons possible. In order to do so you will need: A striker: The three best tactical roles for a striker in this challenge in my opinion are Poacher, Advanced Forward and the less used Target Man. The two best ways to find a suitable player are: Finding the perfect contender: 1) Search for strikers in your price range and just look on their profile for their tactical role. 2) Search for the required attributes for each role and choose a player that way. Poacher: Advanced Forward Target Man Remember in the search to include the ideal age (0-21 although up to 22 is still ok), position and price. The attributes in the above images are to find decent players and quite a few of them in the search but you can always change them to suit yourself. Remember also that players evolve with time so you might find a poacher that after a few seasons will become a target man. A tactic: Obviously like in any challenge you will need a tactic. The average 1kc tactic will have the chosen striker alone up front, normally at least one winger and most of the time a normal 4 man defence. I normally use something that resembles this: Tactical roles: For tactical roles, I talked about the striker earlier. For the winger(s), an Inside Forward often takes goals or chances and misses them, so he isn't ideal. But the two best imo are APM and Winger. An APM often focuses on making himself available to pick up his teams passes and then give it to someone else. The winger, when he has he ball of course, tries the bug the touchline and beat his man with his pace. Then often crossing into the box to try and create a chance. For the more central players, most of the time I just look at my squad then see who are my best midfielders and build the central midfield around them. Finally the defenders it's pretty much the same thing. See who are your best players and give them their preferred or best role. Although with some tactics a BPD and a Winger are decently effective. Team instructions: Next, the team instructions. I often like them like this: Although most of the time the team instructions just need messing around with and testing, I just like the attacking mentality that I have found goes pretty well with the pressing turned on. Finally, when you're preparing your tactic, make sure to put your chosen striker as the penalty and free kick taker because this will often give you 5+ extra goals a season. The club: Where to go? Obviously some leagues are easier to score in than others. The top three easiest nations to score in are: 1) Brasil. Brasil is very easy to score in (especially in the SP) but the seasons are quite a lot longer than in other countries. 2) Portgual. Seasons are an average length but it's harder to score in. 3) Holland. Again seasons are a normal length it's just harder (the hardest of these three) to score in. Club finance: At a club you will either need a good starting budget or a good budget that's achievable by either selling the deadwood on the team or the team's star striker seeing as either way he will virtually never play. Extra help: This is completely optional, but sometimes if you have enough money to spend you can also go looking for players who can get your striker a fair amount of goals. The better stats for this are (Imo) crossing, passing, teamwork although there are others that could also have an impact. Notes: This is only part one, there will hopefully be others up roughly once a week. Credit to Dec for his helpful guide on "Key attributes for each player role". Finally, I'd appreciate it if along with whatever you have to say in your comment, you just say a quick word on the presentation and if it looks okay and what I should improve.
  2. Devil & ManagerAddict attempt to Introduction: Yes me and my good friend Addict will be attempting my own challenge. Last year we attempted a H2H but it didn't work out so here we are again. Ready to battle it out. I'm not going to explain the challenge but here it if you want to understand. Some of you may have noticed that I have deleted the "added difficulty" that was there in 2013 because I don't think it's necessary with the challenge already being difficult enough as it is. I have made a few changes to the challenge so check them out. Possible problems: If you don't end up with enough money to fill your team, and really can't go lower in the price, then you can use sugar daddy but only then. If a player retires, then you don't need to buy a replacement. If no one wants a player then just leave him in the reserves or if necessary then release him. The rules: The usual: 1. No use of changes.txt/the SE 2. No use of unlockables/cheats unless for the reason stated above 3. Screenshots needed as evidence 4. No signing players from the youth team The teams: ManagerAddict: Devil: Updates will be as regular as possible and ManagerAddict's will probably be faster than mine. Anyway, please vote on who you think will win and make sure you comment!
  3. Introduction: Hello, measly people of above, the great Devil from down under (not Australia), has had a new career idea and decided to share it with you. I will hopefully attempt this if I have the time but I can't promise you anything. The challenge: You can choose any club (but choose multiple leagues as well as the league your club is in). There is no particular goal in this challenge, just to do well and not get sacked. Will this challenge change in FMH 2014? Only one way to find out. This could also be attempted with MyClub. Play a season with your team, you can sell 8 players in the first season that you don't need to replace. But that's only the 1st season. And you can't buy anyone during the first season. Then, at the end of the season, put all your players for transfer and demote them. You will then replace the team with players of the same positions and nationality as the previous players. The new players MUST be younger than the players you are replacing. EG: I take Man United, and at the end of the season I will replace De Gea with Sergio Rico. For RvP with Charlison Benschop. For Etc...etc... Every season you can sign 3 players who are still younger and have the same positions, but can be a different nationality. This is to prevent not being able to replace a Gambian or something in your team. EG: I replace Nani with Gareth Bale, ('cause I'm rich ) and Vidic with Ezequiel Garay. For For And you repeat this every season. Little details: If you don't end up with enough money to fill your team, and really can't go lower in the price, then you can use sugar daddy but only then. If a player retires, then you don't need to replace him. If no one wants a player then just leave him in the reserves or if necessary then release him. So: I create a save with Man United, with Spain, France, England and Holland loaded. I play until the end of the season. Paul Scholes retires, so I continue as if nothing had happened and he was still in the reserves, signing his replacement. It's 3 days before the transfer window shuts, and I still haven't signed a replacement for Tom Cleverly. I just quickly sign a crappy 15 year old. A bit disappointed but he'll do. End of season 2, I demote all the players, sell them, sign their replacements etc...etc... The rules: 1. No use of changes.txt/the SE 2. No use of unlockables/cheats unless for the reason stated above 3. Screenshots needed as evidence, preferably a career posted 4. No signing players from the youth team Well... Comments are as always appreciated, but constructive criticism only please because this took me a while to do. And feel free to try it. The screenshots are from 2013 but I'm sure everyone will understand just fine.
