Hi great managers. I have a silly query about a team instruction option. What is "Men behind ball" actually? No tactics talk about it or I couldn't find a topic about it. Is it Man Marking? I guess no.

Well, I suppose an advantage is that you'll be harder to break down. On the other hand, you don't posses much of an attacking threat. If you have your men behind the ball, you won't be able to get many men forward. I could be wrong though and expect someone to correct me .

Hmmmm...."Men Behind The Ball" means that when the opposite team attack, all your player will goes to their own half and help the defense...if you combine "Men Behind The Ball" and "Counter Attack" with one Striker (Target Man or Poacher) then you will get the best tactic for fast counter attack...but make sure you don't use "direct" passing style cause your counter attack might get broken down by direct pass....

I have tried a 4-4-2 Att. I set Team Mentality to Defensive, one of my strikers to Target Man, switched on counter attack and men behind ball.

It worked great against larger teams. My first season with Barnet in the Skrill Premier, I beat Arsenal 1-0 and held Man City to a draw before losing in the penalty shoot out in the FA Cup.

I haven't tried it against teams of the same level as defensive or counter attacking football is not my preferred style..

Hmmm.... 4-2-3-1 for me is the best formation for attack and defend but if you have plenty of attacking power then 4-1-3-2 will be the best option....
