10 years in football is a long time. Teams either rise or fall, managers come and go, and ultimately, some players become world superstars.
In this new series, I'll be simulating 10 years into the future of Football Manager Mobile 2017, to see just how much the football landscape changes.
The first part of the series will be focused on Bayern Munich's Renato Sanches, who moved from Benfica in the summer of 2016, and is tipped for big things.
2016
Before we fast forward to 2026, let's just have a look at Renato Sanches at the beginning of the game :
So, as you can see, he's already highly valued at £18m, despite only being 18 years old.
The standout stats for Sanches are his aggression, teamwork, stamina, dribbling and technique attributes, which are all green stats.
Aggression and stamina are one of the 2 key attributes for a player in Sanches' position, as you have to be aggressive during those midfield battles (Just look at Patrick Vieira and Roy Keane). Stamina is vital for getting up and down the pitch (If Sanches' role is a box to box midfielder).
2026
Now for the exciting bit.
Here is Renato Sanches at the start of the 2026/2027 season :
As you can see, Sanches is now a Real Madrid player and now has a value of £47m, just under 3 times his 2016 value.
He has also become a Portugal regular on the international stage, appearing a further 77 times for his country, scoring 9 more goals.
Additionally, the majority of his stats are now green, showing particular strengths in his movement, pace and stamina, which are all at a rating of 20, the maximum.
12 of the 17 stats for Sanches are rated 15+, proving that he did indeed live up to that 'superstar' expectation that was hanging over his head in 2016.
Renato Sanches also managed to break the world transfer record while moving from Bayern Munich to Real Madrid :
Wow. £120m. I don't quite know how he went for that much, as he only scored 5 goals the season before the move, and only managed 3 assists.
2022/2023 was probably his strongest season, bagging himself 18 goals and 8 assists.
Lastly, let's have a look at the achievements of Renato Sanches between 2016 and 2026 :
I think it's fair to say he's won a lot. 8 divisional titles, 6 major cups and 6 minor cups.
Bizarrely, the 8 league titles all came at his previous club Bayern Munich, as Real Madrid actually failed to win the Spanish title during the simulation.
Sanches also won the World Player of The Year award in 2022/2023 (as you can see on the screenshot below), further proof that the 22/23 season was the best in his career.
