I think is Cristiano Ronaldo, but with Thiago Silva, which has Thiago Silva in the profile and I wrote Thiago Emiliano da Silva (his real name), it works, so I've tried also with Cristiano Ronaldo's real name (Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro), in all the possible ways

Try swapping a player out first or making him free then doing so.

Yes, I've tried with Giacomo Bonaventura, thiago Silva (I've inserted his full name) and messi (full name,too) and they work

I've tried with gareth bale and it works. I've used R. Madrid as Team name in both the strings, so it's a problem of Ronaldo's name

Edit: I should have done this a while ago, sorry. I have checked the FM PC editor.

This is the code I used for the World's Greatest League(changed it to your needs)

 

If that doesn't work. Put in R. Madrid Castilla. Don't ask why. But sometimes first team players only work if you put in the team's second team. Haven't had it happen to anyone World Class. But happened to players that are really good.

Try what Dec said and move him to another team and see if it works.

I don't know how that works, tbh. As the top code will cancel out any other code that includes Ronaldo's name.

But I guess if it works, it works. No sense in questioning.

 

Have you tried using Real Madrid C.F. instead of R. Madrid?

And have you tried using just the bottom code?

Why can't I change Newcastles Reputation? The most money they can have is about 30Mil.

Reputation isn't directly money but standard of players you can sign and expectations. It may take a year for finances to be influenced though it needs to be their full name - Newcastle United.
