2015 4-2-3-1 formation, Short passing or direct passing ?

I'm a big fan of the 4-2-3-1 formation with 2 deep CM's in real life, but I somehow struggle to do good with that formation in FMH. Should I use short passing or direct? Or even mixed? I am inclined to think direct because of the space between the back 6 and front 4 but on the other hand, the front 4 are close to eachother so wouldn't short passing benefit that front 4 more?

I usually start the game in mixed and change it accordingly to what your seeing on the pitch or what the values of your players related passing attributes are

I don't think it makes that much difference. Even playing short i see a lot of longer balls. It's all down to how good your squad is really and how integrated each player is with one another.

I'm currently using this tactic for my Wolfsburg save. It's working like a charm: I use balanced- short- normal. 

Also, radamelfalcao77 is right too, in using this tactic, with some sort of success.
