CHOOSING THE CLUB

I chose Sporting CP as my club to manage from Portugal. Sporting CP are the 3rd most decorated team in Portugal. Can my philosophy help them to the championship?

STADIUM & FACILITIES

Like the recent teams I have managed, the infrastructure of Sporting CP is amongst the best in the world. The clubs youth & 1st team facilities are state of the art. The stadium is beautiful & impressive, holding 52,000 supporters.

STAFF, FINANCES & TRAINING

Training was delegated to Carlos Fernandes. The finances of the club are in a Very Healthy State. The staff room is full of coaches, scouts & physios who are the highest quality.

SQUAD

Main point of this transfer market was few players in but many let go off. The players released or sold were mostly young & not good enough for the club. The squad was ageing but had very good quality so only a few selected players were purchased to improve the squad with Fabio Viera being the pick of the bunch.

TACTICS

I used my attacking Tiki Taka tactic for this career. Another bigger club & the system worked perfectly getting mostly wins or draws consistently during the season, even hammering our closest rivals Benfica 6-0!!😲😲😲. Again, we were perfect defensively but did struggle a little bit in defence leading to too many draws.

THE RESULTS

So, Sporting CP are the CHAMPIONS of Portugal!🏆🥳 We are invinsibles, going the entire season unbeaten!  With a win rate of 62%, we really did have a sensational season although were knocked out in the champions league to Man City.
